< 1 Samuel 2 >

1 Then prayed Hannah, and said, My heart hath leaped for joy in Yahweh, My horn is exalted in Yahweh, My mouth is opened wide, o’er my foes, Because I rejoice in thy salvation.
Mgbe ahụ Hana kpere ekpere sị: “Obi m na-aṅụrị ọṅụ nʼime Onyenwe anyị; nʼime Onyenwe anyị ka e buliri mpi m elu. Ọnụ m na-anya isi megide ndị iro m, nʼihi na-enwere m mmasị na nzọpụta gị.
2 There is none holy like Yahweh, Nay! there, is none, except Thee, Nor, is, there a rock, like our God.
“O nweghị onye dị nsọ dịka Onyenwe anyị; o nweghị onye dị karịa gị, o nweghị nkume ọzọ yiri Chineke anyị.
3 Do not multiply words, so loftily—loftily, Nor let arrogance proceed from your mouth, —For, a GOD of knowledge, is Yahweh, And, for himself, are great doings made firm.
“Anọgidela na-ekwu okwu site na mpako, ekwekwala ka ọnụ gị kwupụta okwu nganga. Nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke maara ihe niile, ya bụ onye na-anwale ọrụ niile.
4 The bow of the mighty, is dismayed, —While, the fainting, are girded with strength;
“Ụta ndị na-ebu agha agbajiela ma ndị ahụ dara mba ka e nyere ike.
5 The sated, have, for bread, taken hire, But, the famished, have left off their toil, —So that, the barren, hath given birth unto seven, While, she that hath many sons, languisheth:
Ndị na-eriju afọ e meela onwe ha ndị ọrụ ngo maka nri, ma ndị na-adịghị eriju afọ na mbụ aghọọla ndị agụụ adịghị agụkwa. Nwanyị aga amụtala ụmụ asaa ma nwanyị ahụ mụrụ ọtụtụ ụmụ adịghị amụtakwa.
6 Yahweh, doth kill, and make alive, —Taketh down to hades, and bringeth up: (Sheol h7585)
“Onyenwe anyị na-eweta ọnwụ, ya na-emekwa ka a dị ndụ, ọ bụ ya na-eme ka mmadụ daa nʼụra ọnwụ, na-emekwa ka ha dị ndụ ọzọ. (Sheol h7585)
7 Yahweh, maketh poor, and enricheth, —Layeth low, yea exalteth;
8 Raiseth, from the dust, the poor, From the dunghill, uplifteth the needy, To give them a dwelling with nobles, And, a throne of glory, to make them inherit. For, to Yahweh, belong the pillars of the earth, And he setteth thereon the habitable world.
Ọ na-esite na ntụ welite onye ogbenye na-ebuli ndị mkpa na-akpa site nʼikpo ntụ. Ọ na-eme ka ha soro ụmụ eze nọdụ, na-emekwa ka ha keta ocheeze nsọpụrụ. “Nʼihi na ntọala ụwa bụ nke Onyenwe anyị nʼelu ya ka ọ dọkwasịrị ụwa.
9 The feet of his loving ones, he doth guard, But, the lawless, in darkness shall be silent, —For, by strength, shall no man prevail.
10 As for Yahweh, —they shall be shattered who contend with him, Over him, in the heavens will he thunder, Yahweh, will judge the ends of the earth, —That he may give strength to his King, And exalt the horn of his Anointed One.
Ndị ahụ na-ebuli onwe ha imegide Onyenwe anyị ka a ga-etipịa. Onye kachasị ihe niile elu ga-ebigbọ site nʼeluigwe megide ha. Onyenwe anyị ga-ekpe nsọtụ niile nke ụwa ikpe. “Ọ ga-enye eze ya ike bulikwaa ịdị ike nke onye ya e tere mmanụ.”
11 Then went Elkanah to Ramah, unto his own house, —but, the boy, remained ministering unto Yahweh, before Eli the priest.
Mgbe ahụ, Elkena na Hana laghachiri Rema, ma ha hapụrụ Samuel nʼebe ahụ. Nwata ahụ ghọrọ onyeozi Onyenwe anyị, nʼihi na ọ nọ na-enyere Elayị onye nchụaja aka.
12 Now, the sons of Eli, were abandoned men, —they knew not Yahweh.
13 And, the custom of the priests with the people, was—when any man offered a sacrifice, then would come the priests young man, as the flesh was boiling, with a three-pronged fork in his hand;
Dịka mmeso ndị nchụaja nʼebe ndị mmadụ si dị: mgbe onye ọbụla bịara ịchụ aja, onyeozi onye nchụaja na-abịa mgbe a na-esi anụ, jiri ndụdụ nwere eze atọ nʼaka ya.
14 and would strike it into the boiler, or into the trough, or into the kettle, or into the pot, all that the fork would bring up, the priest took for himself. Thus and thus, used they to do unto all Israel, who came thither, in Shiloh.
15 Also, before any could make perfume with the fat, the priests young man would come in and say to the person who was sacrificing, Come! give flesh for the priest’s roastings, —for he will not take of thee boiled flesh—only raw.
Mgbe ụfọdụ, tupu e suree abụba anụ nʼebe ịchụ aja, ndị ozi onye nchụaja na-abịa gwa onye wetara anụ ịchụ aja sị ya, “Nye onye nchụaja anụ ndụ nke ọ ga-ahụ nʼọkụ, nʼihi na ọ chọghị iri anụ e siri esi, kama anụ ndụ ka ọ chọrọ.”
16 And, if the man said to him, Let them at least, make incense, at once with the fat, then take thou as much as thy soul craveth, Then said he to him, But, at once, shalt thou give it; or else, I will take it by force.
Ọ bụrụ na onye ji anụ ahụ bịa ịchụ aja agwa onyeozi ahụ okwu sị, “Chere ka anyị buru ụzọ suo abụba ndị a ọkụ tupu i were ihe ị chọrọ,” onyeozi ahụ na-aza sị, “Nye m anụ ahụ ugbu a, ọ bụrụ na i nyeghị m ya aga m eji ike were ya.”
17 And so it was, that, the sin of the young men, was exceeding great, before Yahweh, —for men scorned the offerings of Yahweh.
Mmehie ụmụ okorobịa ndị a na-eme dị ukwuu nʼanya Onyenwe anyị, nʼihi na ha na-eleda onyinye a na-ewetara Onyenwe anyị anya.
18 But, as for Samuel, he was ministering before Yahweh, —a boy girded with an ephod of linen.
Nʼoge a, Samuel na-agakwa ozi ya nʼihu Onyenwe anyị. Ọ bụ ezie na ọ bụ naanị nwantakịrị, ọ na-eyi akwa ọcha efọọd dịka ndị nchụaja.
19 Also, a little robe, used his mother to make for him, and bring it up to him, from year to year, —when she came up with her husband, to offer the sacrifice of the year.
20 And Eli used to bless Elkanah and his wife, and to say—Yahweh give thee seed of this woman, instead of the loan that hath been lent unto Yahweh. So they went their way to his own place.
Tupu ha alaa, Elayị na-agọzi Elkena na Hana sị, “Ka Onyenwe anyị nye gị ụmụ ọzọ, ndị ga-anọchi anya onye a ị rịọrọ maka ya, nke i nyeghachiri Onyenwe anyị.”
21 And Yahweh visited Hannah, and she conceived, and bare three sons, and two daughters. Thus did the boy Samuel grow up with Yahweh.
Onyenwe anyị gosiri Hana amara. Ọ tụrụ ime mụta ụmụ ndị ikom atọ, na ụmụ ndị inyom abụọ. Ma Samuel tokwara nʼije ozi ya nʼihu Onyenwe anyị.
22 Now, Eli, was very old, —but he used to hear all that his sons did unto all Israel, and how they even lay with the women who did service, at the opening of the tent of meeting.
Nʼoge a, Elayị abụrụla nnọọ agadi. Ọ nọkwa na-anụ ihe ọjọọ niile ụmụ ya ndị ikom na-eme ndị Izrel niile, ya na otu ha si edinakwuru ụmụ nwanyị na-eje ozi nʼọnụ ụzọ ebe ịchụ aja ụlọ nzute.
23 So he said to them, Wherefore should ye do such things as these? for I keep hearing of your wicked doings, from all these people.
Ya mere, Elayị gwara ụmụ ya sị, “Anụla m site nʼọnụ ndị Onyenwe anyị, banyere ihe ọjọọ niile dị iche iche unu na-eme. Gịnị mere unu ji na-eme ihe ọjọọ dị otu a?
24 Nay, my sons! for it is no good report that I do hear: leading into transgression the people of Yahweh.
Ọ bụghị akụkọ ọma ka m na-anụ site nʼọnụ ndị Onyenwe anyị banyere unu.
25 If one man sin against another, God will interpose, but, if, against Yahweh, a man sin, who will intercede, for him? But they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, for Yahweh was pleased to put them to death.
26 But, the boy Samuel, went on growing in stature, and in favour, —both with Yahweh, and also with men.
Nwata ahụ bụ Samuel na-eto, na-agba dimkpa, bụrụkwa onye ihe ya dị Onyenwe anyị na mmadụ mma.
27 And there came a man of God, unto Eli, —and said unto him—Thus, saith Yahweh, I, did indeed reveal myself, unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt, as servants unto the house of Pharaoh;
Otu onye nke Chineke bịara gwa Elayị okwu sị ya, “Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru: Ọ bụ na m ezipụtaghị ike m nʼụzọ pụtara ihe mgbe nna nna gị ha bụ ohu nʼala Ijipt nʼokpuru Fero?
28 choosing him out of all the tribes of Israel unto myself, to minister as priest, to offer upon mine altar, to perfume with incense to bear an ephod before me, —Therefore gave I unto the house of thy father all the altar-flames of the sons of Israel.
Ahọpụtara m nna nna unu ochie site nʼetiti ebo niile nke Izrel mee ya ka ọ bụrụ onye nchụaja m, ka ọ chụọ aja nʼebe ịchụ aja m, isure ihe nsure ọkụ na-esi isi ụtọ, na iyi uwe efọọd ndị nchụaja nʼihu m. Enyere m ezinaụlọ nna nna gị onyinye niile Izrel ji chụọ aja nsure ọkụ.
29 Wherefore have ye been kicking at my sacrifices, and my presents, which I commanded, to serve for a home, —and shouldest have honoured thy sons more than me: fattening yourselves, with the first of every present of Israel, before me?
Gịnị mere unu ji na-elelị aja a na-achụrụ m, na onyinye a na-ewetara m nʼusoro dịka m si nye ya nʼiwu anya? Gịnị mere i ji na-asọpụrụ ụmụ gị karịa m, ime onwe unu ka unu gbaa abụba site nʼidebere onwe unu akụkụ kachasị mma nke onyinye niile ụmụ Izrel, ndị m, na-ewetara m.
30 Hence, the oracle of Yahweh God of Israel, I, said, that, thy house, and the house of thy father, should go to and fro in my presence, unto times age-abiding: But, now, (is the oracle of Yahweh)—Be it far from me! For, them who honour me, will I honour, but, they who despise me, shall be lightly esteemed.
“Nʼihi ya, otu a ka Onyenwe anyị, Chineke Izrel, kwupụtara, sị, ‘Ekwere m nkwa na ndị ezinaụlọ gị na nke nna gị ga-eje ozi nʼihu m ruo mgbe ebighị ebi,’ ma ugbu a, otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri ya, ‘Ọ gaghị adịkwa otu a nʼebe m nọ! Nʼihi na ndị na-asọpụrụ m ka m ga-asọpụrụ, ma ndị niile na-eleda m anya, ka a ga-akpọ ihe efu.
31 Lo! days are coming, when I will hew off thine arm, and the arm of the house of thy father, —that there shall be no elder in thy house;
Oge na-abịa mgbe m ga-ebipụ ike gị na ike ezinaụlọ nna gị, wezuga ha ka nwoke ọbụla nʼezinaụlọ gị hapụ ito ghọọ agadi.
32 But thou shalt descry distress at home, in all that shall gladden Israel, —and there shall not be an elder in thine own house, all the days.
Ị ga-ahụ mkpagbu nʼebe obibi m; a ga-emere Izrel ihe ọma nke ga-eme ka i nwee anya ụfụ, ma ọ dịghị onye ga-eme agadi nʼezinaụlọ gị.
33 But, any man of thine whom I may not cut off from mine altar, it shall be—to consume his eyes, and grieve his soul; Howbeit, all the multitude of thy house, shall die, by the sword of men.
Onye ọbụla nʼime unu nke m na-ebipụghị site nʼebe ịchụ aja m ga-adị ndụ naanị nʼọnọdụ anya mmiri akwa nke ga-ekpuchi ya anya, na iru ụjụ nke obi. Ụmụ ụmụ gị niile ga-anwụ tupu ha eruo agadi.
34 And, this, for thee is the sign, which shall come upon thy two sons, upon Hophni and Phinehas, —In one day, shall they, both of them, die;
“‘Ihe ga-adakwasị ụmụ gị ndị ikom, bụ Hofni na Finehaz, ga-abụrụ gị ihe ama. Ha abụọ ga-anwụ nʼotu ụbọchị.
35 And I will raise me up a faithful priest, According to that which is in my heart and in my soul, will he do; Therefore will I build for him an assured house, and he shall go to and fro in presence of mine Anointed, all the days.
O ga-eje ozi nʼihu Onye m e tere mmanụ oge niile.
36 And it shall be, that, any that is left in thy house, shall come bowing down to him for a small coin of silver, and for a cake of bread, and shall say: Appoint me, I pray thee, to one of the priestly offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread.
