1 Samuel 14

1 And it came about, on a certain day, that Jonathan son of Saul said unto the young man bearing his armour: Come! and let us pass over unto the garrison of the Philistines, that is on the other side, yonder! but, to his father, he told it not.

௧ஒரு நாள் சவுலின் மகனான யோனத்தான் தன்னுடைய ஆயுததாரியான வாலிபனைப் பார்த்து: நமக்கு எதிராக அந்தப் பக்கத்தில் இருக்கிற பெலிஸ்தர்களின் முகாமிற்கு போவோம் வா என்று சொன்னான்; அதை அவன் தன்னுடைய தகப்பனுக்கு அறிவிக்கவில்லை.

2 Now, Saul, was tarrying in the uttermost part of Gibeah, under the pomegranate tree that is in Migron, —and, the people that were with him, were about six hundred men;

௨சவுல் கிபியாவின் கடைசி முனையாகிய மிக்ரோனிலே ஒரு மாதுளைமரத்தின்கீழ் இருந்தான்; அவனோடு இருந்த மக்கள் ஏறக்குறைய 600 பேராக இருந்தார்கள்.

3 and, Ahijah, son of Ahitub, brother of Ichabod, son of Phinehas, son of Eli, was priest of Yahweh in Shiloh, wearing an ephod, —and, the people, knew not that Jonathan had departed.

௩சீலோவிலே யெகோவாவுடைய ஆசாரியனாயிருந்த ஏலியின் மகனான பினெகாசுக்குப் பிறந்த இக்கபோத்தின் சகோதரனும், அகிதூபின் மகனுமாகிய அகியா என்பவன் ஏபோத்தை அணிந்திருந்தான்; யோனத்தான் போனதை மக்கள் அறியாமல் இருந்தார்கள்.

4 And, between the passes by which Jonathan sought to cross over up to the garrison of the Philistines, there was a crag of rock on the one side, and a crag of rock on the other side; and, the name of the one, was Bozez, and the name of the other, Seneh.

௪யோனத்தான் பெலிஸ்தர்களின் முகாமிற்கு போகப்பார்த்த வழிகளின் நடுவே, இந்தப் பக்கம் ஒரு செங்குத்தான பாறையும், அந்தப் பக்கம் ஒரு செங்குத்தான பாறையும் இருந்தது; ஒன்றுக்குப் போசேஸ் என்று பெயர், மற்றொன்றுக்குச் சேனே என்று பெயர்.

5 The one crag, was a pillar on the north, over against Michmash, —and, the other, on the south, over against Geba.

௫அந்தப் பாறைகளில் ஒன்று வடக்கே மிக்மாசுக்கு எதிராகவும், மற்றொன்று தெற்கே கிபியாவுக்கு எதிராகவும் இருந்தது.

6 So Jonathan said unto the young man bearing his armour—Come! and let us cross over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised, peradventure, Yahweh may work by us, —for there is no restraint with Yahweh, to save by many, or by few.

௬யோனத்தான் தன் ஆயுததாரியான வாலிபனை பார்த்து: விருத்தசேதனம் இல்லாதவர்களுடைய அந்த முகாமிற்குப் போவோம் வா; ஒருவேளை யெகோவா நமக்காக ஒரு காரியம் செய்வார்; அநேகம் பேரைக்கொண்டோ, கொஞ்சம்பேரைக்கொண்டோ, இரட்சிக்கக் யெகோவாவுக்குத் தடையில்லை என்றான்.

7 And his armour-bearer said to him, Do all that is in thy heart, —decide for thyself (lo! I am with thee!), according to thine own heart.

௭அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய ஆயுததாரி அவனைப் பார்த்து: உம்முடைய இருதயத்தில் இருக்கிறபடியெல்லாம் செய்யும்; அப்படியே போங்கள்; இதோ, உம்முடைய மனதிற்கு ஏற்றபடி நானும் உம்மோடு வருகிறேன் என்றான்.

8 Then said Jonathan, Lo! we, are crossing over unto the men, —and will discover ourselves unto them.

௮அதற்கு யோனத்தான்: இதோ, நாம் கடந்து, அந்த மனிதரிடத்திற்குப் போகிறவர்கள்போல அவர்களுக்கு நம்மைக் காண்பிப்போம்.

9 If, thus, they say unto us, Keep quiet until we get to you, then will we stand still where we are, and will not go up unto them;

௯நாங்கள் உங்களிடத்திற்கு வரும் வரை நில்லுங்கள் என்று நம்மோடே சொல்வார்களானால், நாம் அவர்களிடத்திற்கு ஏறிப்போகாமல், நம்முடைய நிலையிலே நிற்போம்.

10 but, if thus, they say, Come up unto us, then will we go up; for Yahweh hath delivered them into our hand, —This, then, is our sign.

௧0எங்களிடத்திற்கு ஏறி வாருங்கள் என்று சொல்வார்களானால், ஏறிப்போவோம்; யெகோவா அவர்களை நம்முடைய கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்; இது நமக்கு அடையாளம் என்றான்.

11 So they two discovered themselves unto the garrison of the Philistines, —and the Philistines said—Lo! Hebrews, coming forth out of the holes, wherein they had hidden themselves.

௧௧அப்படியே அவர்கள் இருவரும் பெலிஸ்தர்களின் முகாமிற்குமுன் தங்களைக் காண்பித்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தர்கள்: இதோ, எபிரெயர்கள் ஒளிந்துகொண்டிருந்த குழிகளைவிட்டுப் புறப்படுகிறார்கள் என்று சொல்லி,

12 And the men of the garrison responded to Jonathan and his armour-bearer, and said—Come up unto us, and we will let you know a thing. Then said Jonathan unto his armour-bearer—Come up after me, for Yahweh hath delivered them into the hand of Israel.

௧௨முகாமில் இருக்கிற மனிதர்கள் யோனத்தானையும் அவனுடைய ஆயுததாரியையும் பார்த்து: எங்களிடத்திற்கு ஏறிவாருங்கள், உங்களுக்குப் புத்தி கற்பிப்போம் என்றார்கள்; அப்பொழுது யோனத்தான் தன் ஆயுததாரியைப் பார்த்து: என் பின்னாலே ஏறி வா, யெகோவா அவர்களை இஸ்ரவேலின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார் என்று சொல்லி,

13 So Jonathan went up on his hands and on his feet, and, his armour-bearer, followed him, —and they fell before Jonathan, and, his armour-bearer, was slaying after him.

௧௩யோனத்தான் தன் கைகளாலும் தன் கால்களாலும் தவழ்ந்து ஏறினான்; அவனுடைய ஆயுததாரி அவனுக்குப் பின்னாலே ஏறினான்; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் யோனத்தானுக்கு முன்பாக மடிந்து விழுந்தார்கள்; அவனுடைய ஆயுததாரியும் அவனுக்குப் பின்னாலே வெட்டிக்கொண்டேபோனான்.

14 And the first smiting wherewith Jonathan and his armour-bearer smote, was about twenty men, —within, as it were, half a furrow’s length of a yoke of land.

௧௪யோனத்தானும் அவனுடைய ஆயுததாரியும் அடித்த அந்த முந்தின அடியிலே ஏறக்குறைய 20 பேர் அரை ஏர் நிலமான விசாலத்திலே விழுந்தார்கள்.

15 And there came to be a trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people, the outposts and the spoilers, they too, trembled, —and the earth quaked, so it became a preternatural trembling.

௧௫அப்பொழுது முகாமிலும் வெளியிலும், சகல ஜனங்களிலும், திகில் உண்டாகி, முகாமில் இருந்தவர்களும் கொள்ளையிடப்போன கூட்டத்திலுள்ளவர்களுங்கூடத் திகில் அடைந்தார்கள்; பூமியும் அதிர்ந்தது; அது தேவனால் உண்டான திகிலாயிருந்தது.

16 And the scouts of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked, and lo! the camp, melted away, hither and thither.

௧௬பென்யமீன் நாட்டிலுள்ள கிபியாவிலே சவுலுக்கு இருந்த இரவுக்காவலர்கள் பார்த்து: இதோ, அந்த ஏராளமான கூட்டம் கலைந்து, அங்கும் இங்கும் ஓடுவதைக் கண்டார்கள்.

17 Then said Saul unto the people who were with him: Number, I pray you, and see who hath departed from us. So they numbered; and lo! Jonathan and his armour-bearer were missing.

௧௭அப்பொழுது சவுல் தன்னோடு இருக்கிற மக்களைப் பார்த்து: நம்மிடத்திலிருந்து போனவர்கள் யார் என்று கணக்கெடுங்கள் என்றான்; அவர்கள் கணக்கெடுக்கிறபோது, இதோ, யோனத்தானும் அவனுடைய ஆயுததாரியும் அங்கே இல்லை என்று கண்டார்கள்.

18 Then said Saul unto Ahijah, Bring near the ark of God; for the ark of God was, on that day, in the midst of the sons of Israel.

௧௮அப்பொழுது சவுல் அகியாவை நோக்கி: தேவனுடைய பெட்டியைக் கொண்டுவா என்றான்; தேவனுடைய பெட்டி அந்த நாட்களில் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களிடத்தில் இருந்தது.

19 And it came to pass, as soon as Saul had spoken unto the priest, that, the tumultuous noise that was in the camp of the Philistines, went on and on, increasing. Then said Saul unto the priest, —Withdraw thy hand.

௧௯இப்படிச் சவுல் ஆசாரியனோடே பேசும்போது, பெலிஸ்தர்களின் முகாமில் உண்டான கலகம் வரவர அதிகரித்தது; அப்பொழுது சவுல் ஆசாரியனைப் பார்த்து: இருக்கட்டும் என்றான்.

20 And Saul and all the people that were with him gathered themselves together, and came as far as the host, —and lo! the sword of every man was against his fellow, an exceeding great confusion.

௨0சவுலும் அவனோடிருந்த மக்களும் கூட்டம் கூடிப் போர்க்களத்திற்குப் போனார்கள்; ஒருவர் பட்டயம் ஒருவருக்கு எதிராக இருந்தபடியால் மகா குழப்பம் உண்டானது.

21 And, the Hebrews who had aforetime belonged to the Philistines, who had come up with them in the host, even they, turned round so as to be with Israel who were with Saul and Jonathan.

௨௧இதற்குமுன்பு பெலிஸ்தர்களுடன் கூடி அவர்களோடு முகாமிலே திரிந்துவந்த எபிரெயர்களும், சவுலோடும் யோனத்தானோடும் இருக்கிற இஸ்ரவேலர்களோடு சேர்ந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

22 And, all the men of Israel who had hidden themselves throughout the hill country of Ephraim, heard that the Philistines had fled, and, they also, followed hard after them in the battle.

௨௨எப்பிராயீம் மலைகளில் ஒளிந்துகொண்டிருந்த எல்லா இஸ்ரவேலர்களும் பெலிஸ்தர்கள் தப்பியோடுகிறதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, யுத்தத்திலே அவர்களை நெருங்கித் தொடர்ந்தார்கள்.

23 Thus did Yahweh, on that day, save Israel, —and, the battle, passed over by Beth-aven.

௨௩இப்படிக் யெகோவா அன்றையதினம் இஸ்ரவேலை இரட்சித்தார்; அந்த யுத்தம் பெத்தாவேன் வரை நடந்தது.

24 Now, the men of Israel, were tired out on that day, —yet had Saul bound the people by an oath, saying—Cursed, be the man that eateth food until the evening, and I be avenged upon mine enemies. So none of the people had tasted food.

௨௪இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் அன்றையதினம் மிகுந்த வருத்தம் அடைந்தார்கள்; நான் என் எதிரிகளை பழிவாங்கவேண்டும், மாலைவரைக்கும் பொறுக்காமல் எவன் சாப்பிடுகிறானோ, அவன் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன் என்று சவுல் மக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டுச் சொல்லியிருந்தபடியால், மக்களில் ஒருவரும் கொஞ்சம்கூட சாப்பிடாதிருந்தார்கள்.

25 And, all the land, had entered into the forest, —and there was honey upon the face of the ground.

௨௫எல்லா இராணுவ மக்கள் எல்லோரும் ஒரு காட்டிலே வந்தார்கள்; அங்கே நிலத்திலே தேன் கூடு கட்டியிருந்தது.

26 So the people came into the forest, and lo! there were streams of honey, —but no man reached his hand to his mouth, because the people revered the oath.

௨௬மக்கள் காட்டிலே வந்தபோது, இதோ, தேன் ஒழுகிக்கொண்டிருந்தது; ஆனாலும் ஒருவனும் அதைத் தன் கையினாலே தொட்டுத் தன் வாயில் வைக்கவில்லை; மக்கள் அந்த ஆணையினிமித்தம் பயப்பட்டார்கள்.

27 But, Jonathan, heard not his father putting the people on oath, so he reached forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and dipped it in the honey-copse, —and brought back his hand to his mouth, and his eyes were brightened.

௨௭யோனத்தான் தன் தகப்பன் மக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டதைக் கேள்விப்படவில்லை; அவன் தன் கையிலிருந்த கோலை நீட்டி, அதின் நுனியினாலே தேன்கூட்டைக் குத்தி, அதை எடுத்துத் தன் வாயிலே போட்டான்; அதினால் அவனுடைய கண்கள் தெளிந்தது.

28 Then responded one from among the people, and said—With an oath, did thy father charge the people, saying—Cursed, be the man that eateth food to-day! And so the people were faint.

௨௮அப்பொழுது ஜனங்களில் ஒருவன்: இன்றைக்கு சாப்பிடுகிறவன் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன் என்று உம்முடைய தகப்பனார் மக்களுக்கு உறுதியாய் ஆணையிட்டிருக்கிறார்; ஆகவே மக்கள் களைத்திருக்கிறார்கள் என்றான்.

29 Then said Jonathan: My father hath afflicted the land, —See, I pray you, how my own eyes have been brightened, because I tasted a little of this honey.

௨௯அப்பொழுது யோனத்தான்: என் தகப்பன் தேசத்தின் மக்களைக் கலங்கச்செய்தார்: நான் இந்தத் தேனிலே கொஞ்சம் ருசிபார்த்ததில், என் கண்கள் தெளிந்ததைப் பாருங்கள்.

30 How much more if haply the people had, eaten freely, to-day of the spoil of their enemies, which they found? for, now, would not the smiting of the Philistines have been, mighty?

௩0இன்றையதினம் மக்கள் தங்களுக்கு அகப்பட்ட தங்கள் எதிரிகளின் கொள்ளையிலே ஏதாவது சாப்பிட்டிருந்தால், எத்தனை நலமாயிருக்கும்; பெலிஸ்தருக்குள் உண்டான படுகொலை மிகவும் அதிகமாயிருக்குமே என்றான்.

31 Howbeit they smote the Philistines on that day from Michmash to Aijalon, —but the people became exceeding faint.

௩௧அவர்கள் அன்றையதினம் மிக்மாசிலிருந்து ஆயலோன் வரை பெலிஸ்தர்களை முறியடித்தபோது, மக்கள் மிகவும் களைத்திருந்தார்கள்.

32 And the people darted greedily upon the spoil, and took sheep, and oxen, and calves, and felled them to the ground, —and the people did eat, with the blood.

௩௨அப்பொழுது மக்கள் கொள்ளையின்மேல் பாய்ந்து, ஆடுகளையும், மாடுகளையும், கன்றுக்குட்டிகளையும் பிடித்து, தரையிலே போட்டு அடித்து, இரத்தத்தோடும் சாப்பிட்டார்கள்.

33 And they told Saul, saying, Lo! the people, are sinning against Yahweh, by eating with the blood. And he said—Ye have dealt treacherously, roll unto me, here, a great stone.

௩௩அப்பொழுது, இதோ, இரத்தத்தோடு இருக்கிறதை சாப்பிட்டதால் மக்கள் யெகோவாவுக்கு எதிராக பாவம் செய்கிறார்கள் என்று சவுலுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்; அவன்: நீங்கள் துரோகம்செய்தீர்கள்; இப்போதே ஒரு பெரிய கல்லை என்னிடம் உருட்டிக்கொண்டுவாருங்கள்.

34 And Saul said—Disperse yourselves among the people, and say unto them—Bring near unto me every man his ox, and every man his lamb, and slay them here, and then eat, so shall ye not sin against Yahweh, by eating with the blood. And all the people brought near—every man that which was in his hand, that night, and they slew them there.

௩௪நீங்கள் மக்களுக்குள்ளே போய், இரத்தத்தோடிருக்கிறதைச் சாப்பிடுவதால், யெகோவாவுக்கு எதிராக பாவம் செய்யாதபடிக்கு, அவரவர் தங்கள் மாட்டையும் அவரவர் தங்கள் ஆட்டையும் என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து, இங்கே அடித்து, பின்பு சாப்பிடவேண்டும் என்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள் என்று கட்டளையிட்டான்; ஆகவே, மக்கள் எல்லோரும் அவரவர் தங்கள் மாடுகளை அன்று இரவு தாங்களே கொண்டுவந்து, அங்கே அடித்தார்கள்.

35 And Saul built an altar unto Yahweh, —the same, was the first altar that he built unto Yahweh.

௩௫பின்பு சவுல் யெகோவாவுக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டினான்; அது அவன் யெகோவாவுக்குக் கட்டின முதலாவது பலிபீடம்.

36 Then said Saul—Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and make of them a prey until the morning light, and let us not leave of them, a man. And they said, All that is good in thine eyes, do! Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God.

௩௬அதற்குப்பின்பு சவுல்: நாம் இந்த இரவிலே பெலிஸ்தர்களைத் தொடர்ந்துபோய், காலை வெளிச்சமாகும் வரை அவர்களைக் கொள்ளையிட்டு, அவர்களில் ஒருவரையும் மீதியாக வைக்காதிருப்போமாக என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்கள்: உம்முடைய கண்களுக்கு நலமானபடியெல்லாம் செய்யும் என்றார்கள். ஆசாரியனோ: நாம் இங்கே தேவனிடத்தில் சேர்வோம் என்றான்.

37 So Saul asked of God, Shall I go down after the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into the hand of Israel? But he answered him not, that day.

௩௭அப்படியே: பெலிஸ்தர்களைத் தொடர்ந்து போகலாமா? அவர்களை இஸ்ரவேலின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பீரா? என்று சவுல் தேவனிடத்தில் விசாரித்தான்; அவர் அந்த நாளிலே அவனுக்கு பதில் சொல்லவில்லை.

38 Then said Saul, Come near hither, all ye chiefs of the people, —and get to know and see, wherein, hath been this sin, to-day.

௩௮அப்பொழுது சவுல்: மக்களின் தலைவர்களே, நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் இங்கே சேர்ந்து வந்து, இன்று இந்தப் பாவம் எதினாலே உண்டாயிற்று என்று பார்த்து அறியுங்கள்.

39 For, by the life of Yahweh, who saveth Israel, though it be in Jonathan my son, yet shall he, die. But there was none ready to answer him, of all the people.

௩௯அது என் மகனான யோனத்தானிடத்தில் காணப்பட்டாலும், அவன் நிச்சயமாக சாகவேண்டும் என்று இஸ்ரவேலை இரட்சிக்கிற யெகோவாவுடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு சொல்கிறேன் என்றான்; சகல ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளும் ஒருவனும் அவனுக்குப் பதில் சொல்லவில்லை.

40 Then said he unto all Israel—Ye, shall be on one side, and, I and Jonathan my son, will be on the other side. And the people said unto Saul, What is good in thine eyes, do!

௪0அதற்குப்பின்பு அவன் இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் எல்லோரையும் நோக்கி: நீங்கள் அந்தப்பக்கத்திலே இருங்கள்; நானும் என் மகனான யோனத்தானும் இந்தப்பக்கத்தில் இருப்போம் என்றான்; மக்கள் சவுலைப்பார்த்து: உம்முடைய கண்களுக்கு நலமானபடி செய்யும் என்றார்கள்.

41 And Saul said unto Yahweh—O God of Israel! now set forth the truth. Then were, Jonathan and Saul, taken, and, the people, escaped.

௪௧அப்பொழுது சவுல் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா வை நோக்கி: நிதானமாய்க் கட்டளையிட்டு உண்மையை விளங்கச்செய்யும் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது யோனத்தான்மேலும் சவுலின்மேலும் சீட்டு விழுந்தது, மக்களோ தப்பினார்கள்.

42 And Saul said, Cast lots between me, and Jonathan my son. Then was, Jonathan, taken.

௪௨எனக்கும் என் மகனான யோனத்தானுக்கும் சீட்டுப்போடுங்கள் என்று சவுல் சொன்னபோது, யோனத்தான்மேல் சீட்டு விழுந்தது.

43 And Saul said unto Jonathan, Come tell me, what thou hast done. So Jonathan told him, and said, I, just tasted, with the end of the staff that was in my hand, a little honey, here I am—I must die!

௪௩அப்பொழுது சவுல் யோனத்தானைப் பார்த்து: நீ செய்தது என்ன? எனக்குச் சொல் என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு யோனத்தான்: என் கையில் இருக்கிற கோலின் நுனியினாலே கொஞ்சம் தேன் எடுத்து ருசிபார்த்தேன்; அதற்காக நான் சாகவேண்டும் என்றான்.

44 Then said Saul: So, may God do, and, so, may he add, surely thou must, die, Jonathan!

௪௪அப்பொழுது சவுல்: யோனத்தானே, நீ சாகத்தான் வேண்டும்; இல்லாவிட்டால் தேவன் எனக்கு அதற்குச் சரியாகவும் அதற்கு அதிகமாகவும் செய்யக்கடவர் என்றான்.

45 But the people said unto Saul—Shall, Jonathan, die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? Far be it! By the life of Yahweh, there shall not fall a hair of his head to the ground, for, with God, hath he wrought this day. So the people delivered Jonathan, that he died not.

௪௫மக்களோ சவுலை பார்த்து: இஸ்ரவேலிலே இந்தப் பெரிய இரட்சிப்பைச் செய்த யோனத்தான் கொலை செய்யப்படலாமா? அது கூடாது; அவனுடைய தலையில் இருக்கிற ஒரு முடியும் தரையிலே விழப்போகிறதில்லை என்று யெகோவாவுடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு ஆணையிட்டுச் சொல்லுகிறோம்; தேவன் துணை நிற்க அவன் இன்று காரியத்தை நடப்பித்தான் என்றார்கள்; அப்படியே யோனத்தான் சாகாதபடி, மக்கள் அவனைத் தப்புவித்தார்கள்.

46 Then Saul went up from following the Philistines, —and, the Philistines, departed unto their own place.

௪௬சவுல் பெலிஸ்தர்களை பின்தொடராமல் திரும்பிவிட்டான்; பெலிஸ்தர்களும் தங்கள் இடத்திற்குப் போய்விட்டார்கள்.

47 And, Saul, took possession of the kingdom over Israel, —and made war round about against all his enemies—against Moab, and against the sons of Ammon, and against Edom, and against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines, and, whomsoever he turned against, he was victorious.

௪௭இப்படிச் சவுல் இஸ்ரவேலை ஆளுகிற ராஜரீகத்தைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டு, சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற தன்னுடைய எல்லா எதிரிகளாகிய மோவாபியர்களுக்கும், அம்மோன் மக்களுக்கும், ஏதோமியர்களுக்கும், சோபாவின் ராஜாக்களுக்கும், பெலிஸ்தர்களுக்கும் விரோதமாக யுத்தம்செய்து, எவர்கள்மேல் படையெடுத்தானோ, அவர்களையெல்லாம் அடக்கினான்.

48 Then made he ready a force, and smote the Amalekites, —and delivered Israel out of the hand of such as plundered them.

50 and, the name of Saul’s wife, was Ahinoam, daughter of Ahimaaz, —and the name of the prince of his host, Abner, son of Ner, Saul’s uncle.

51 And, Kish, was Saul’s father, and, Ner, Abner’s father, was son of Abiel.

௫௧கீஸ் சவுலின் தகப்பன்; அப்னேரின் தகப்பனாகிய நேர் ஆபியேலின் மகன்.

52 And the war was severe against the Philistines all the days of Saul, —and, whensoever Saul saw any mighty man, or any son of valour, he drew him unto himself.
