1 Samuel 12
1 And Samuel said unto all Israel, Lo! I have hearkened unto your voice, in all that ye said to me, —and have set over you a king.
ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଶାମୁୟେଲ ସମସ୍ତ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ ଯାହା ଯାହା କହିଲ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସେହି ରବ ଶୁଣିଲି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଏକ ଜଣକୁ ରାଜା କଲି।
2 Now, therefore, lo! the king going to and fro before you, But, I, am old and grey-headed, and, my sons, lo! they are with you, —But, I, have gone to and fro before you from my youth until this day.
ଆଉ ଏବେ ଦେଖ, ରାଜା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଗମନାଗମନ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି; ପୁଣି, ମୁଁ ବୃଦ୍ଧ ଓ ପକ୍ୱକେଶ ହୋଇଅଛି; ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ମୋହର ପୁତ୍ରମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି, ପୁଣି, ମୁଁ ଯୌବନାକାଳାବଧି ଆଜି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଗମନାଗମନ କରିଅଛି।
3 Behold me! testify against me, before Yahweh, and before his Anointed—Whose, ox, have I taken? or whose, ass, have I taken? or whom have I oppressed? Whom have I crushed? or at whose, hands, have I taken a bribe, to cover up mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it unto you.
ଦେଖ, ମୁଁ ଏଠାରେ ଅଛି; ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଅଭିଷିକ୍ତଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ, ମୋହର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦିଅ; ମୁଁ କାହାର ଗୋରୁ ନେଇଅଛି? ଅବା ମୁଁ କାହାର ଗଧ ନେଇଅଛି? ଅବା ମୁଁ କାହାର ଅନ୍ୟାୟ କରିଅଛି? ମୁଁ କାହା ପ୍ରତି ଉପଦ୍ରବ କରିଅଛି? କିଅବା ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ଚକ୍ଷୁକୁ ଅନ୍ଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ କାହା ହସ୍ତରୁ ଲାଞ୍ଚ ନେଇଅଛି? ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ତାହା ଫେରାଇ ଦେବି।”
4 And they said, Thou hast not oppressed us, neither hast thou crushed us, —neither hast thou taken, at the hand of any man, any thing.
ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ୟାୟ କରି ନାହଁ, କି ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଉପଦ୍ରବ କରି ନାହଁ, କିଅବା ତୁମ୍ଭେ କୌଣସି ଲୋକ ହସ୍ତରୁ କିଛି ନେଇ ନାହଁ।”
5 And he said unto them—Witness, is Yahweh against you, and, witness, is his Anointed, this day, that ye have not found in my hand, any thing! And they said: Witness!
ତେଣୁ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋହର ହସ୍ତରେ କୌଣସି ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ପାଇଲ ନାହିଁ, “ଏଥିରେ ଆଜି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ସାକ୍ଷୀ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଅଭିଷିକ୍ତ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ସାକ୍ଷୀ ଅଛନ୍ତି;” ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ କହିଲେ, “ସାକ୍ଷୀ ଅଛନ୍ତି।”
6 And Samuel said unto the people: Witness, is Yahweh, who wrought with Moses and with Aaron, and who brought up your fathers out of the land of Egypt.
ତହୁଁ ଶାମୁୟେଲ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ସେହି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋଶାଙ୍କୁ ଓ ହାରୋଣଙ୍କୁ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କରିଥିଲେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କୁ ମିସର ଦେଶରୁ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିଥିଲେ।
7 Now, therefore, take your stand and let me plead with you, before Yahweh, —and tell you all the righteous acts of Yahweh, which he wrought with you, and with your fathers:
ଏହେତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହିକ୍ଷଣେ ଛିଡ଼ା ହୁଅ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଗଣ ପ୍ରତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର କୃତ ସମସ୍ତ ଧର୍ମକର୍ମ ବିଷୟ ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ବିବେଚନା କରିବି।
8 How that, when Jacob had come into Egypt, —and your fathers had made outcry unto Yahweh, then Yahweh sent Moses and Aaron, and they brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and he caused them to dwell in this place;
ଯାକୁବ ମିସରକୁ ଆସିଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ କଲେ, ସେତେବେଳେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋଶାଙ୍କୁ ଓ ହାରୋଣଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ମିସରରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଗଣକୁ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିଲେ ଓ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାସ କରାଇଲେ।
9 And, when they forgat Yahweh their God, he sold them into the hand of Sisera, prince of the host of Jabin, king of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them;
ମାତ୍ର ସେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ପାସୋରନ୍ତେ, ସେ ହାସୋରର ସେନାପତି ସୀଷରାର ହସ୍ତରେ ଓ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ଓ ମୋୟାବର ରାଜା ହସ୍ତରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିକ୍ରୟ କଲେ ଓ ସେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କଲେ।
10 But, when they made outcry unto Yahweh and said—We have sinned, in that we have forsaken Yahweh, and have served the Baals and the Ashtoreths, —now, therefore, deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, that we may serve thee,
ସେତେବେଳେ ସେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ କରି କହିଲେ, ‘ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପାପ କରିଅଛୁ, ଯେହେତୁ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ତ୍ୟାଗ କରି ବାଲ୍ ଦେବଗଣର ଓ ଅଷ୍ଟାରୋତ୍ ଦେବୀଗଣର ପୂଜା କରିଅଛୁ; ମାତ୍ର ଏବେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଶତ୍ରୁଗଣ ହସ୍ତରୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ରକ୍ଷା କର, ତହିଁରେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସେବା କରିବା।’
11 then Yahweh sent Jerubbaal and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, —and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies, on every side, and ye dwelt in safety.
ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯିରୁବ୍ବାଲ୍କୁ ଓ ବଦାନକୁ ଓ ଯିପ୍ତହକୁ ଓ ଶାମୁୟେଲଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗସ୍ଥିତ ଶତ୍ରୁମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ରକ୍ଷା କଲେ, ତହିଁରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନିର୍ଭୟରେ ବାସ କଲ।
12 But, when ye saw that, Nahash king of the sons of Ammon, came upon you, then said ye unto me, Nay! but, a king, shall reign over us, when, Yahweh your God, was your king!
ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଦେଖିଲ ଯେ, ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ରାଜା ନାହଶ୍ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ବାହାର ହୋଇ ଆସୁଅଛି, ସେତେବେଳେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ରାଜା ଥିଲେ ହେଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋତେ କହିଲ; ‘ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ଜଣେ ରାଜା ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ରାଜତ୍ୱ କରିବ।’
13 Now, therefore, lo! the king whom ye have chosen, for whom ye have asked, —lo! therefore, Yahweh hath set over you a king.
ଏହେତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯାହାକୁ ମନୋନୀତ କଲ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯାହା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କଲ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସେହି ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଏବେ ଦେଖ; ଦେଖ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଏକ ରାଜା ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କଲେ।
14 If ye will revere Yahweh, and serve him, and hearken unto his voice, and not rebel against the bidding of Yahweh, then shall, both ye and your king that reigneth over you, continue to follow after Yahweh your God.
ଯେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କରିବ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କର ସେବା କରିବ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ରବ ଶୁଣିବ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞାର ବିଦ୍ରୋହାଚରଣ ନ କରିବ, ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଓ ମଧ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ କର୍ତ୍ତୃତ୍ୱକାରୀ ରାଜା, ଉଭୟ ଯେବେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ଅନୁବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ହେବ, ତେବେ ଭଲ;
15 But, if ye hearken not unto the voice of Yahweh, but rebel against the bidding of Yahweh, then will the hand of Yahweh continue to be against you, and against your fathers.
ମାତ୍ର ଯେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ରବ ନ ଶୁଣିବ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞାର ବିଦ୍ରୋହାଚରଣ କରିବ, ତେବେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଗଣର ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ଥିଲା, ସେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ହେବ।
16 Even now, stand still and see this great thing, —which Yahweh is about to do before your eyes:
ଏହେତୁ ଏବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଛିଡ଼ା ହୁଅ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ଯେଉଁ ମହତ କର୍ମ କରିବେ, ତାହା ଦେଖ।
17 Is it not wheat harvest, to-day? I will cry unto Yahweh, that he may give forth thunderings and rain, —know ye then and see, that, your wrong, is great which ye have done in the sight of Yahweh, in asking for yourselves, a king.
ଆଜି କି ଗହମ କାଟିବା ସମୟ ନୁହେଁ? ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯେପରି ମେଘ ଗର୍ଜ୍ଜନ ଓ ବୃଷ୍ଟି ପଠାଇବେ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ମୁଁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଡାକିବି; ତହିଁରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ରାଜା ମାଗି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଯେଉଁ ମନ୍ଦତା କରିଅଛ, ତାହା ଯେ ବଡ଼, ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣିବ ଓ ଦେଖିବ।”
18 So Samuel cried unto Yahweh, and Yahweh gave forth thunderings and rain, on that day, —and all the people greatly feared Yahweh, and Samuel.
ଏଥିରେ ଶାମୁୟେଲ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ଡ଼ାକିଲେ, ପୁଣି, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସେହି ଦିନ ମେଘ ଗର୍ଜ୍ଜନ ଓ ବୃଷ୍ଟି ପଠାଇଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଶାମୁୟେଲଙ୍କୁ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଭୟ କଲେ।
19 And all the people said unto Samuel—Pray for thy servants, unto Yahweh thy God, and let it not be that we die, —For we have added, to all our sins, a wrong, in asking for ourselves a king.
ପୁଣି, ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଶାମୁୟେଲଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେପରି ନ ମରୁ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଦାସମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କର; କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କର ସବୁ ପାପ ଉପରେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ରାଜା ମାଗି ମନ୍ଦତା ବୃଦ୍ଧି କରିଅଛୁ।”
20 Then said Samuel unto the people—Do not fear, ye, have done all this wrong, —nevertheless, do not turn aside from following Yahweh, but serve Yahweh, with all your heart;
ଏଥିରେ ଶାମୁୟେଲ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଭୟ ନ କର; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ମନ୍ଦତା କରିଅଛ, ପ୍ରମାଣ; ତଥାପି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପଶ୍ଚାଦ୍ଗମନରୁ ବିମୁଖ ନ ହୁଅ, ମାତ୍ର ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ସମସ୍ତ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ସହିତ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ସେବା କର;
21 and turn not aside after vanities, that can neither profit nor deliver, because, vanities, they are.
ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବିପଥଗାମୀ ନ ହୁଅ; ଯଦି ହୁଅ, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅବସ୍ତୁସକଳର ଅନୁଗାମୀ ହେବ; ସେମାନେ ଉପକାର କି ରକ୍ଷା କରିବାକୁ ଅସମର୍ଥ, ଯେହେତୁ ସେମାନେ ଅବସ୍ତୁ।
22 For Yahweh will not give up his people, because of his great name, for Yahweh was minded to make you his people.
ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣା ମହାନାମ ସକାଶୁ ଆପଣା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ତ୍ୟାଗ କରିବେ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣା ଲୋକ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସନ୍ତୁଷ୍ଟ ହୋଇଅଛନ୍ତି।
23 As for me also, far be it from me, that I should sin against Yahweh, by ceasing to pray for you, —but I will direct you, in the good and right way.
ଆହୁରି ମୁଁ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରିବାରୁ ନିବୃତ୍ତ ହୋଇ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ପାପ କରିବି, ଏହା ଦୂରେ ଥାଉ; ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତମ ଓ ସରଳ ପଥ ବିଷୟ ଶିକ୍ଷା କରାଇବି।
24 Only, revere Yahweh, and serve him in truth, with all your heart, —for see, what great things he hath done with you.
କେବଳ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କର, ପୁଣି, ସତ୍ୟ ରୂପେ ସମସ୍ତ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ସହିତ ତାହାଙ୍କର ସେବା କର; କାରଣ ଦେଖ, ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ କିପରି ମହତ କର୍ମମାନ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।
25 But, if ye, will do wrong, both ye and your king shall be swept away.
ମାତ୍ର ଯେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନିତାନ୍ତ ମନ୍ଦ ଆଚରଣ କରିବ, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ରାଜା ଉଭୟ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେବ।”
