1 Kings 21
1 And it came to pass, after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had, a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, —hard by the palace of Ahab, king of Samaria.
यो केही समय बितेपछिको कुरा हो । सामरियाका राजा आहाबको दरबार नजिकै यिजरेलमा यिजरेली नाबोतको एउटा दाखबारी थियो ।
2 Ahab, therefore, spake unto Naboth, saying—Come! give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, for, the same, is near by my house, and let me give thee, instead thereof, a vineyard better than it, —if it be good in thine eyes, I will give thee silver to the value of this.
आहाबले नाबोतलाई यसो भने, “सागबारी लगाउन मलाई तिम्रो दाखबारी देऊ किनकि यो मेरो घर नजिकै छ । यसको सट्टामा म तिमीलाई अझै राम्रो दाखबारी दिने छु वा तिमीले चाह्यौ भने म तिमीलाई यसको दाम तिरिदिने छु ।”
3 And Naboth said unto Ahab, —Far be it from me, of Yahweh! that I should give up the inheritance of my fathers, unto thee!
नाबोतले आहाबलाई जवाफ दिए, “मेरा पुर्खाहरूका पैतृक सम्पत्ति मैले तपाईंलाई दिनदेखि परमप्रभुले मलाई निषेध गरून् ।”
4 So Ahab came into his house, sullen and disturbed, because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken unto him, that he should have said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. So he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and did eat no food.
त्यसैले आहाब उदास भए, र रिसाएर आफ्नो दरबारमा गए किनकि यिजरेली नाबोतले तिनलाई यसो भनी जवाफ दिएका थिए, “म मेरा पुर्खाहरूको पैतृक सम्पत्ति तपाईंलाई दिन्नँ ।” तिनी आफ्नो ओछ्यानमा ठुस्स परेर सुते, र तिनले खाना खान इन्कार गरे ।
5 Then came unto him Jezebel his wife, —and said unto him—Why is it, that thy spirit is sullen, that thou art, not eating food?
तिनकी पत्नी ईजेबेल तिनीकहाँ आएर भनिन्, “खानै नखाने गरी तपाईं किन यति धेरै उदास हुनुभएको छ?”
6 And he said unto her—Because I spake unto Naboth, the Jezreelite, and said unto him—Come! give me thy vineyard for silver, or, if thou wouldst prefer, I will give thee a vineyard, in its stead; and he said—I will not give thee my vineyard.
तिनले उनलाई जवाफ दिए, “मैले यिजरेली नाबोतलाई भनेँ, 'तिम्रो दाखबारी मलाई बेच वा तिमीलाई इच्छा लागे म तिमीलाई अर्को अझै राम्रो दाखबारी दिने छु ।' तब तिनले मलाई जवाफ दिए, 'म तिमीलाई मेरो दाखबारी दिन्नँ' ।”
7 Then Jezebel his wife said unto him: Art, thou, still, going to carry on the kingdom over Israel? Rise! eat food, and let thy heart be merry, I, will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite!
त्यसैले तिनकी पत्नी ईजेबेलले तिनलाई जवाफ दिइन्, “के तपाईंले इस्राएलको राज्यमाथि शासन गर्नुहुन्न र? उठेर खानुहोस् । तपाईंको मन प्रसन्न होस् । म यिजरेली नाबोतको दाखबारी तपाईंलाई दिलाइदिने छु ।”
8 So she wrote letters, in the name of Ahab, and sealed them with his signet-ring, —and sent the letters unto the elders, and unto the nobles who were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.
त्यसैले ईजेबेलले आहाबको नाउँमा चिठीहरू लेखिन्, र तिनका राजाको छाप लगाई नाबोतको सहरमा तिनीसित बस्ने धर्म-गुरुहरू र भारदारहरूकहाँ पठाइन् ।
9 Now she wrote in the letters, saying, —Proclaim ye a fast, and cause Naboth to sit at the head of the people;
उनले चिठीहरूमा यसो लेखेकी थिइन्, “उपवासको घोषणा गरी नाबोतलाई मानिसहरूका बिचमा आदरको स्थानमा बसाओ ।
10 then let two reckless men take their seats before him, that they may bear witness against him, saying, Thou hast reviled God and king! then shall ye carry him forth and stone him, that he die.
तिनीसँगै दुई जना बेइमान मानिसलाई पनि राख जसले तिनको विरुद्धमा यस्तो गवाही देऊन्, 'तपाईंले परमेश्वर र राजालाई सराप दिनुभयो' ।” तब तिनलाई बाहिर लगेर ढुङ्गाले हानेर मार ।
11 So the men of his city, the elders and the nobles who dwelt in his city, did just as Jezebel had sent unto them, —as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them:
त्यसैले नाबोतको सहरका मानिसहरू, धर्म-गुरुहरू र धनी मानिसहरूलाई ईजेबेलले लेखेकी चिठीहरूमा व्याख्या गरेझैँ तिनीहरूले गरे ।
12 they proclaimed a fast, —and caused Naboth to sit at the head of the people.
तिनीहरूले उपवासको घोषणा गरे, र नाबोतलाई मानिसहरूभन्दा आदरको स्थानमा बसाए ।
13 Then came in the two reckless men, and sat before him, and the men bare witness against him, even against Naboth, before the people, saying, Naboth hath reviled God and king! So they carried him forth, outside the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.
दुई जना बेइमान मानिस आए, र तिनीहरू नाबोतको सामु बसे । मानिसहरूको उपस्थितिमा तिनीहरूले नाबोतको विरुद्धमा यसो भनी गवाही दिए, “नाबोतले परमेश्वर र राजा दुवैलाई सराप दिए ।” त्यसपछि तिनीहरूले तिनलाई सहरबाहिर लगी ढुङ्गाले हानेर मारे ।
14 Then sent they unto Jezebel, saying, —Naboth is stoned and is dead.
तब धर्म-गुरुहरूले ईजेबेललाई यो खबर पठाइन्, “नाबोतलाई ढुङ्गाले हानेर मारिएको छ ।”
15 And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned and was dead, that Jezebel said unto Ahab—Rise! take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for silver, for Naboth is not alive, but dead!
जब ईजेबेलले नाबोतलाई ढुङ्गाले हानेर मारिएको छ भनी सुनिन् उनले आहाबलाई भनिन्, “नाबोत मरिसकेकाले उठ्नुहोस्, र यिजरेली नाबोतको दाखबारी अधिकार गर्नुहोस् जुन बेच्नलाई तिनले इन्कार गरेका थिए ।”
16 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab arose, to go down unto the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession thereof.
नाबोत मरे भनी जब आहाबले सुने तिनी उठेर यिजरेली नाबोतको दाखबारीमा गए, र त्यसको अधिकार गरे ।
17 Then came the word of Yahweh unto Elijah the Tishbite, saying:
तब परमप्रभुको वचन तिश्बी एलियाकहाँ आयो,
18 Arise! go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who is in Samaria, —lo! he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he hath gone down, to take possession thereof.
“उठ्, र सामरियामा बस्ने इस्रालका राजा आहाबलाई भेट्न जा । त्यो नाबोतको दाखबारीमा छ जहाँ त्यो दाखबारी हडप्न गएको छ ।
19 Then shalt thou speak unto him, saying—Thus, saith Yahweh, Hast thou committed murder, and also taken possession? Then shalt thou speak unto him, saying: Thus, saith Yahweh, In the place where the dogs have lapped up the blood of Naboth, shall the dogs lap up thy blood, even thine.
तैँले त्यसलाई परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छ भनी बता, 'के तैँले त्यसलाई मारेर त्यसको सम्पत्ति हडपेको छस्?’ त्यसपछि त्यसलाई परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छ भनी बता, 'जुन ठाउँमा कुकुरहरूले नाबोतको रगत चाटे, त्यही ठाउँमा कुकुरहरूले तेरो रगत, हो तेरै रगत चाट्ने छन्' ।”
20 Then said Ahab unto Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he said: I have found [thee]! Because thou hast sold thyself to do the thing that is wicked in the eyes of Yahweh,
आहाबले एलियालाई भने, “ए मेरो शत्रु, के तैँले मलाई भेट्टाएको छस्?” एलियाले जवाफ दिए, “तपाईंले परमप्रभुको दृष्टिमा दुष्ट काम गरी आफैलाई बेच्नुभएकोले मैले तपाईंलाई भेट्टाएको छु ।
21 Behold me! [saith he] bringing in upon thee, calamity, and I will consume after thee, —and cut off of Ahab, even the meanest, whether shut up or left at large in Israel;
परमप्रभु तपाईंलाई यसो भन्नुहुन्छ, 'हेर्, म तँमाथि विपत्ति ल्याउने छु, र इस्राएलमा भएको तेरो हरेक पुरुष, कमारा र फुक्कालाई पूर्ण रूपमा भस्म पारी सर्वनाश पार्ने छु ।
22 and will deliver up thy house—Like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha son of Ahijah, —for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked, and caused, Israel, to sin.
म तेरो घरानालाई नबातका छोरा यारोबाम र अहियाका छोरा बाशाको घरानाजस्तै तुल्याउने छु किनकि तैँले मलाई रिस उठाई इस्राएललाई पाप गर्न लगाएको छस् ।'
23 Moreover also, concerning Jezebel, hath Yahweh spoken, saying, —The dogs, shall eat Jezebel, in the town-land of Jezreel:
परमप्रभुले ईजेबेलको सम्बन्धमा पनि यसो भन्नुभएको छ, 'यिजरेलको पर्खालको छेउमा नै कुकुरहरूले ईजेबेललाई खाने छन् ।'
24 Him that dieth, of Ahab, in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, —and, him that dieth in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat.
आहाबको घरानामा भएको हरेक जो सहरमा मर्छ त्यसलाई कुकुरहरूले खाने छन्, र मैदानमा मर्ने हरेकलाई आकाशका चराचुरुङ्गीहरूले खाने छन् ।”
25 But indeed, there was none like Ahab, who sold himself to do the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —whom Jezebel his wife goaded on;
आहाबजस्तो कोही थिएन जसले परमप्रभुको दृष्टिमा दुष्ट काम गर्न आफैलाई बेचे जसलाई तिनकी पत्नीले पाप गर्न उक्साएकी थिइन् ।
26 so that he did very abominably, in going after the manufactured gods, —according to all which the Amorites had done, whom Yahweh dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.
आहाबले परमप्रभुले इस्राएलीहरूको सामुबाट हटाउनुभएका मूर्तिहरूलाई पछ्याई एमोरीहरूले गरेजस्तै घृणित कामहरू गरे ।
27 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard these words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, —and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.
जब आहाबले यी वचनहरू सुने तिनले आफ्ना लुगा च्याते, र आफ्नो शरीरमा भाङ्ग्रा लगाए अनि उपवास बसे । तिनी भाङ्ग्रा लगाई अत्यन्तै उदास भए ।
28 Then came the word of Yahweh unto Elijah the Tishbite, saying:
तब परमप्रभुको वचन तिश्बी एलियाकहाँ आयो,
29 Hast thou seen that Ahab hath humbled himself, before me? Because he hath humbled himself before me, I will not bring in the calamity in his days, In the days of his son, will I bring in the calamity upon his house.
“के आहाबले मेरो सामु आफैलाई विनम्र पारेको तैँले देखेको छस्? त्यसले मेरो सामु आफैलाई विनम्र तुल्याकोले म आउनेवाला विपत्ति त्यसकै समयमा ल्याउँदिनँ । म त्यसको छोराको समयमा त्यसको परिवारमा विपत्ति ल्याउने छु ।”
