< 1 Kings 2 >
1 And, when the days of David drew near that he must die, he charged Solomon his son, saying: —
Ke David el apkuran in misa, el pangnol Solomon, wen natul, ac sang kas in kasru safla lal nu sel:
2 I, am going the way of all the earth, —thou must be strong, therefore, and show thyself a man;
“Pacl in misa luk apkuranme. Kom in ku ac pulaik na,
3 and keep the observances of Yahweh thy God, by walking in his ways, by keeping his statutes, his commandments, and his regulations and his testimonies, as written in the law of Moses, —to the end thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself;
ac oru ma LEUM GOD lom El sapkin nu sum. Akos ma sap ac ma oakwuk lal nukewa, oana ma simla ke ma sap lal Moses, tuh yen nukewa kom som nu we kom fah wo ouiyom in ma nukewa kom oru.
4 to the end that Yahweh may establish his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy sons will take heed to their way, by walking before me, in truth, with all their heart, and with all their soul, (then, said he) there shall not be cut off to thee a man, from off the throne of Israel.
Kom fin akos LEUM GOD, El ac akpwayeye wulela lal nu sik ke El fahk mu fwilin tulik nutik ac fah leumi Israel nwe tok, ke lusenna pacl elos liyaung ac akos ma nga sapkin nu selos ke insialos ac ngunalos nufon.
5 Moreover also, thou, knowest what Joab son of Zeruiah did to me, how he dealt with two generals of the armies of Israel—with Abner son of Ner, and with Amasa son of Jether—both of whom he slew, shedding the blood of war in peace, —and putting the blood of war upon his girdle that was on his loins, and upon his sandals, that were on his feet.
“Sayen ma inge, oasr sie pac ma. Kom esam ma Joab el tuh oru nu sik ke el uniya mwet kol fulat luo lun un mwet mweun lun Israel, Abner wen natul Ner, ac Amasa wen natul Jether. El akmuseltalu ke pacl in misla, ke sripen el ke foloksak ke mwet eltal uniya ke mweun. El uniya mwet ma wangin ma koluk la, ac inge nga eis mwatan ma el oru ac keok kac.
6 Thou, therefore, must do according to thy wisdom, —but will not let his grey hair go down in peace, to hades. (Sheol )
Kom etu na ma fal kom in oru. Nimet lela elan misa ke pacl fal lal, a kom in unilya. (Sheol )
7 But, with the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, thou wilt deal in lovingkindness, and they will be among them who eat at thy table, —for, so, drew they near unto me, when I fled from Absolom thy brother.
“Ac nu sin wen natul Barzillai, kom in oru kulang nu selos ac liyalosyang, mweyen elos tuh kulang nu sik ke nga kaingkunul Absalom, tamulel lom.
8 Lo! also, there is with thee—Shimei son of Gera a Benjamite, of Behurim, well, he, it was who cursed me with a grievous curse; on the day I journeyed to Mahanaim, —but he, came down to meet me, at the Jordan, and so I sware to him by Yahweh, saying—I will not put thee to death, with the sword.
“Ac nu sel Shimei, wen natul Gera mwet Bahurim in acn Benjamin, el tuh selngawiyu ke kas na mwen ke len se nga som nu Mahanaim. Tusruktu ke el tuh sunyu Infacl Jordan, nga tuh wulela na ku nu sel ke Inen LEUM GOD lah nga ac tia sap in anwuki el.
9 Now, therefore do not hold him guiltless, for, a wise man, thou art, and wilt know how thou oughtest to deal with him, and wilt suffer his grey hairs to go down with blood, to hades. (Sheol )
Tuh kom in tia fuhlela in wangin kalya nu sel. Kom etu na ma fal kom in oru. Nimet lela elan misa ke pacl fal lal, a kom in unilya.” (Sheol )
10 So then David slept with his fathers, —and was buried in the city of David.
David el misa, ac pukpuki el in Siti sel David.
11 Now, the days that David reigned over Israel, were forty years, —in Hebron, reigned he seven years, and, in Jerusalem, reigned he thirty and three years.
El tuh tokosra lun Israel ke yac angngaul. El muta Hebron ke yac itkosr, ac Jerusalem ke yac tolngoul tolu.
12 But, when, Solomon, took his seat upon the throne of David his father, then was the kingdom firmly established.
Solomon el aolulla David, papa tumal, in tokosra, ac tokosrai lal oakwuki arulana ku.
13 And Adonijah son of Haggith came in unto Bath-sheba, mother of Solomon: And she said—Peaceably, comest thou? And he said—Peaceably.
Na Adonijah, su nina kial pa Haggith, el som nu yorol Bathsheba, nina kial Solomon. Bathsheba el siyuk, “Ya kom tuku ke misla?” Adonijah el topuk, “Aok.”
14 Then said he—I have somewhat to say unto thee. And she said—Say on.
Na el sifilpa fahk, “Oasr ma se nga ke siyuk sum.” Bathsheba el siyuk, “Mea se?”
15 And he said—Thou, knowest that, mine, was the kingdom, and, on me, had all Israel set their faces, that I should become king, —howbeit the kingdom, hath turned about, and become my brother’s, for, from Yahweh, became it, his.
El topuk, “Kom etu lah nga lukun tokosrala, ac mwet Israel nukewa nunku mu ac ouinge. Tuh pa sikyak tuh na tamulel se luk pa tokosrala, mweyen pa inge lungse lun LEUM GOD.
16 Now, therefore, one request, have I to ask of thee, do not turn away my face.
A inge oasr enenu se luk. Nunak munas, nimet srunga.” Bathsheba el siyuk, “Ku mea se?”
17 And she said unto him—Say on. And he said—Speak, I pray thee, unto Solomon the king, for he will not turn away thy face, —that he give me Abishag the Shunammite, to wife.
El topuk, “Nunak munas, siyuk sel Tokosra Solomon tuh nga in payukyak sel Abishag, mutan fusr Shunem sac. Nga etu lah el tia ku in folokunla ngusr lom uh.”
18 And Bath-sheba said: Good! I myself, will speak for thee, unto the king.
Bathsheba el topuk, “Wona. Nga ac tafwekomla nu sel tokosra.”
19 So Bath-sheba went in unto King Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah, —and the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself down to her, and sat down upon his throne, and caused a throne to be set for the mother of the king, and she sat on his right hand.
Ouinge Bathsheba el som nu yorol tokosra in tafwella Adonijah nu sel. Ac tokosra el tuyak in paing nina kial, ac pasrla nu sel. Na el muta fin tron lal ac sap in utuku pac sie tron nu layen layot sel, nina kial elan muta fac.
20 Then said she—One small request, am I asking of thee, do not turn away my face. And the king said to her—Ask on, my mother, for I will not turn away thy face.
Na Bathsheba el fahk, “Oasr enenu srisrik se luk nga ke siyuk sum. Nunak munas nimet folokin.” Tokosra Solomon el siyuk, “Nina, mea se? Nga ac tia folokin ngusr lom an.”
21 And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah thy brother, to wife.
Na nina kial ah fahk, “Eisalang Abishag kial Adonijah, tamulel lom.”
22 Then answered King Solomon, and said to his mother—Wherefore, then, art thou asking Abishag the Shunammite, for Adonijah? ask, then, for him the kingdom, because he is mine elder brother, —even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab, son of Zeruiah.
Tokosra el siyuk, “Efu kom ku siyuk ngan eisalang Abishag nu sel? Ac kom ku tia siyuk pacna ngan sang tokosrai luk nu sel, lah el tamulel matu luk, ac oayapa nu sel Abiathar mwet tol, ac Joab su welul lac?”
23 Then swore King Solomon by Yahweh, saying, —So, let God do to me, and, so, let him add, if, at the cost of his life, Adonijah hath not spoken this word.
Na Solomon el orala wulela ku se lal Inen LEUM GOD ac fahk, “Nga fin tia unilya Adonijah ke sripen siyuk kutasrik se lal inge, lela LEUM GOD Elan uniyuwi!
24 Now, therefore, by the life of Yahweh, who hath established me, and seated me upon the throne of David my father, and who hath made for me a household, as he had spoken, surely, to-day, shall Adonijah be put to death!
LEUM GOD El oakiyuwi ku fin tron lal David, papa tumuk, ac El akpwayeye wulela lal ac ase tokosrai nu sik, ac nu sin tulik nutik. Nga fulahk Inen LEUM GOD lah Adonijah el ac anwuki na misenge!”
25 So King Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah son of Jehoiada, —and he fell upon him, that he died.
Ouinge Tokosra Solomon el sapkin nu sel Benaiah, ac el som unilya Adonijah.
26 Also, unto Abiathar the priest, said the king—To Anathoth, get thee unto thine own fields, for, death-doomed, thou art, —but, this day, will I not put thee to death, because thou didst bear the ark of My Lord, Yahweh, before David my father, and because thou wast afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.
Na Tokosra Solomon el fahk nu sel Abiathar mwet tol, “Folokla nu acn sum in acn Anathoth. Fal na in anwuki kom, tuh nga ac tia lela in sa anwuki kom, ke sripen kom tuh liyaung Tuptup in Wuleang lun LEUM GOD, oayapa kom tuh welul David, papa tumuk, in mwe elya nukewa ma sikyak nu sel.”
27 So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto Yahweh, —to fulfil the word of Yahweh which he spake concerning the household of Eli, in Shiloh.
Ouinge Solomon el sisella Abiathar liki orekma lun mwet tol lun LEUM GOD, ac ma inge akpwayeyela kas lun LEUM GOD su El tuh fahk in acn Shiloh kacl Eli mwet tol ac fwilin tulik natul.
28 And, the report, came unto Joab, for, Joab, had inclined after Adonijah, although, after Solomon, he had not inclined, —so then Joab fled into the Tent of Yahweh, and laid hold of the horns of the altar.
Joab el lohng ke ma sikyak inge. (El tuh kasrel Adonijah, ac tia kasrel Absalom.) Ouinge el kaingla nwe ke Lohm Nuknuk sin LEUM GOD, ac sruokya sruwasrik in loang sac.
29 And it was told King Solomon—Joab hath fled into the Tent of Yahweh, and, there he is, beside the altar. So Solomon sent Benaiah son of Jehoiada, saying—Go fall upon him!
Ke fwackyang nu sel Tokosra Solomon lah Joab el kaingla nu ke Lohm Nuknuk sin LEUM GOD ac tu sisken loang sac, na Solomon el supwala mwet se in siyuk sel lah efu el ku kaingla nu ke loang sac. Na Joab el topuk mu, “Nga kaingla nu yurin LEUM GOD mweyen nga sangeng sel Solomon.” Na Tokosra Solomon el supwalla Benaiah elan som unilya Joab.
30 And Benaiah came into the Tent of Yahweh, and said unto him—Thus, saith the king, Come forth! And he said—Nay! but, here, will I die! So Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, Thus, spake Joab, and, thus, he answered me.
31 And the king said to him—Do as he hath spoken, fall, then, upon him, and bury him, —and so put away the innocent blood, which Joab shed, from off me, and from off the house of my father;
Solomon el fahk, “Oru oana el fahk an. Unilya ac piknilya, tuh nga, ku kutena sin tulik natul David, fah tia eis mwatan ma Joab el oru ke el uniya mwet su wangin mwata.
32 thus will Yahweh bring back his blood upon his own head, in that he fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing it, —even Abner son of Ner, general of the army of Israel, and Amasa son of Jether, general of the army of Judah;
LEUM GOD El ac fah sang kalya nu sel Joab ke akmas el tuh orala a wangin eteya sel David, papa tumuk. Joab el uniya mwet luo su wo lukel na ac wangin mwata: Abner, mwet kol fulat lun un mwet mweun lun Israel, ac Amasa, mwet kol fulat lun un mwet mweun lun Judah.
33 thus shall their blood come back upon the head of Joab, and upon the head of his seed unto times age-abiding, —but, David and his seed, and his house, and his throne, shall have peace, unto times age-abiding, from Yahweh.
Mwatan akmas ingan ac fah putatyang nu facl Joab, ac nu fin fwilin tulik natul nwe tok. A LEUM GOD El ac sang wo ouiya nu sin tulik natul David, su ac muta fin tron lal.”
34 So Benaiah son of Jehoiada went up, and fell upon him, and put him to death, —and he was buried in his own house, in the wilderness.
Ouinge Benaiah el som nu ke Lohm Nuknuk sin LEUM GOD, ac unilya Joab ac piknilya in acn sel yen mwesis.
35 And the king put Benaiah son of Jehoiada, in his stead, over the army, —and, Zadok the priest, did the king put in the stead of Abiathar.
Tokosra el oru tuh Benaiah elan mwet kol fulat lun mwet mweun in aolul Joab, ac sang acn lal Abiathar, mwet tol, nu sel Zadok.
36 And the king sent, and called for Shimei, and said to him—Build thee a house, in Jerusalem, so shalt thou dwell there, —and shalt not go forth from thence, hither or thither;
Na tokosra el solalma Shimei ac fahk nu sel, “Musaela sie lohm ah sum in Jerusalem. Muta loac, ac tia illa liki siti uh.
37 but it shall be that, on the day thou goest forth, and passest over the Kidron ravine, know, that thou shalt, die, —thy blood, shall be, upon thine own head.
Kom fin fahsr alukela infacl srisrik Kidron, na pwayena kom ac fah misa, ac koluk kac uh fah ma lom sifacna.”
38 And Shimei said to the king—Good, is the word, as my lord the king hath spoken, so, will thy servant do. And Shimei dwelt in Jerusalem many days.
Shimei el topuk, “Wona, Leum fulat. Nga ac oru oana kom fahk an.” Ouinge el mutana Jerusalem ke len puspis.
39 But it came to pass, at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei fled unto Achish son of Maachah king of Gath, —and they told Shimei, saying—Lo! thy servants are in Gath.
Tusruktu, yac tolu tok, luo sin mwet kohs lal kaingla nu yorol Achish wen natul Maacah, su tokosra lun acn Gath. Ke Shimei el lohng lah eltal oasr Gath,

41 And it was told Solomon—Shimei hath been out of Jerusalem to Gath, and returned.
Ke Solomon el lohng ma Shimei el oru,
42 Then sent the king and called for Shimei, and said unto him—Did I not put thee on oath by Yahweh, and adjure thee, saying—On the day thou goest forth and takest thy journey hither or thither, know, that thou shalt, die. Then saidst thou unto me—Good, is the word I have heard.
el solalma ac fahk nu sel, “Nga tuh oru kom wulela Inen LEUM GOD mu kom ac tiana illa liki acn Jerusalem, ac nga sensenkakin kom mu kom fin illa, pwayena kom ac misa. Ku kom tuh tia insese nu kac, ac fahk mu kom ac akosyu?
43 Why then, hast thou not kept the oath of Yahweh, —and the charge which I laid upon thee?
Na efu ku kom kunausla wulela lom, ac tia akos ma nga sapkin?
44 Then said the king unto Shimei—Thou, knowest all the wickedness which thy heart is privy to, which thou didst unto David my father, —therefore shall Yahweh bring back thy wickedness, upon thine own head.
Kom arulana etu ma koluk nukewa ma kom tuh orala nu sel David, papa tumuk. LEUM GOD El ac kalyei kom kac.
45 But, King Solomon, shall be blessed, —and, the throne of David, shall be established before Yahweh, unto times age-abiding.
A El ac akinsewowoyeyu, ac El ac akkeye tokosrai lal David nwe tok.”
46 So the king charged Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and he went out and fell upon him, that he died, —and, the kingdom, was established in the hand of Solomon.
Na tokosra el sapkin nu sel Benaiah, ac el som unilya Shimei. Inge ku nukewa ke tokosrai oan inpaol Solomon.
