1 Kings 19
1 And Ahab told Jezebel, all that Elijah had done, —and withal, how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.
ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଆହାବ ଏଲୀୟଙ୍କର କୃତ ସମସ୍ତ କର୍ମର ବୃତ୍ତାନ୍ତ ଓ ସେ କିପରି ଖଡ୍ଗରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିଥିଲେ, ତାହା ଈଷେବଲ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇଲେ।
2 Then sent Jezebel a messenger unto Elijah, saying, —So, let the gods do, and, so, let them add, if, by this time to-morrow, I make not thy life as the life of one of them.
ତହିଁରେ ଈଷେବଲ୍ ଏଲୀୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଦୂତ ପଠାଇ ଏହି କଥା କହିଲା, “ପ୍ରାୟ କାଲି ଏହି ସମୟକୁ ଯେବେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରାଣକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଜଣକର ପ୍ରାଣ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ନ କରେ, ତେବେ ଦେବତାମାନେ ମୋତେ ସେହି ଦଣ୍ଡ, ମଧ୍ୟ ତହିଁରୁ ଅଧିକ ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ।”
3 And, when he saw [that], he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, —and left his servant there.
ତହୁଁ ଏଲୀୟ ଏହା ଦେଖି ଆପଣା ପ୍ରାଣ ସକାଶେ ଉଠିଯାଇ ଯିହୁଦାର ବେର୍ଶେବା ନଗରରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ ଓ ସେଠାରେ ଆପଣା ଦାସକୁ ଛାଡ଼ିଲେ।
4 But, he himself, went into the wilderness a day’s journey, and came and sat down under a certain shrub, —and asked for his life, that he might die, and said—Enough, now, O Yahweh! take away my life, for, no better, am, I, than, my fathers.
ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଆପେ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତର ଭିତରକୁ ଦିନକର ପଥ ଯାଇ ଏକ ରେତମବୃକ୍ଷ ମୂଳରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇ ବସିଲେ ଓ ଆପଣା ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ-ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରି କହିଲେ, “ଯଥେଷ୍ଟ ହେଲାଣି; ଏବେ ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୋ, ମୋର ପ୍ରାଣ ନିଅ; କାରଣ ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଭଲ ନୁହେଁ।”
5 And, as he lay, and slept, under a certain shrub, lo! a messenger, touching him, who said to him—Rise, eat.
ତହୁଁ ସେ ରେତମବୃକ୍ଷ ମୂଳେ ଶୟନ କରି ନିଦ୍ରା ଗଲେ; ଏଥିରେ ଦେଖ, ଏକ ଦୂତ ତାଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରି କହିଲେ, “ଉଠ, ଭୋଜନ କର।”
6 So he looked about, and lo! at his head, a cake baked on hot stones, and a cruse of water, —and he did eat and drink, and then went back and lay down.
ତହିଁରେ ସେ ଅନାନ୍ତେ, ଦେଖ, ତାଙ୍କ ମସ୍ତକ ପାଖରେ ଅଙ୍ଗାରରେ ପକ୍ୱ ଏକ ପିଠା ଓ ଏକ ପାତ୍ର ଜଳ ଅଛି। ଏଣୁ ସେ ଭୋଜନପାନ କରି ପୁନର୍ବାର ଶୟନ କଲେ।
7 And the messenger of Yahweh came again a second time, and touched him, and said—Rise, eat, —because, too much for thee, is the journey.
ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୂତ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ଥର ଆସି ତାଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରି କହିଲେ, “ଉଠ, ଭୋଜନ କର; କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଶକ୍ତିରୁ ପଥ ଅଧିକ।”
8 So he arose, and did eat and drink, —and journeyed, in the strength of that eating, forty days and forty nights, as far as the mountain of God—Horeb.
ତହୁଁ ସେ ଉଠି ଭୋଜନପାନ କଲେ ଓ ସେହି ଖାଦ୍ୟର ବଳରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପର୍ବତ ହୋରେବ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଚାଳିଶ ଦିନ ଓ ଚାଳିଶ ରାତ୍ରି ଗମନ କଲେ।
9 And he entered, there, into a cave, and lodged there, —and lo! the word of Yahweh [came] unto him, and said to him, What doest thou here, Elijah?
ଆଉ ସେ ସେଠାସ୍ଥିତ ଏକ ଗହ୍ୱରରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇ ରାତ୍ରି କ୍ଷେପଣ କଲେ; ସେତେବେଳେ ଦେଖ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା ଓ ସେ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଏଲୀୟ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏଠାରେ କʼଣ କରୁଅଛ?”
10 And he said—Very jealous, have I been, for Yahweh, God of hosts, because the sons of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thine altars, have they thrown down, thy prophets, also have they slain with the sword, —and, I alone, am left, and they have sought my life, to take it.
ତହୁଁ ଏଲୀୟ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଉଦ୍ଯୋଗୀ ହେଲି; କାରଣ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିୟମ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଯଜ୍ଞବେଦିସବୁ ଉତ୍ପାଟନ କଲେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଖଡ୍ଗରେ ବଧ କଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ମୁଁ, କେବଳ ମୁଁ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରହିଲି; ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରାଣ ନେବାକୁ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି।”
11 And he said—Go forth to-morrow, and stand in the mountain, before Yahweh. And lo! Yahweh, passing by, and a great and strong wind—rending the mountains, and breaking in pieces the crags, before Yahweh, Not, in the wind, was, Yahweh, —And, after the wind, an, earthquake, Not, in the earthquake, was, Yahweh;
ଏଥିରେ ସେ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବାହାର ହୋଇ ଏହି ପର୍ବତରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଠିଆ ହୁଅ।” ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ନିକଟ ଦେଇ ଗମନ କଲେ, ତହିଁରେ ପ୍ରବଳ ଓ ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ଡ ବାୟୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ପର୍ବତଗଣକୁ ବିଦୀର୍ଣ୍ଣ କଲା ଓ ଶୈଳସବୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ଖଣ୍ଡ ଖଣ୍ଡ କଲା; ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସେହି ବାୟୁରେ ନ ଥିଲେ; ପୁଣି, ବାୟୁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଭୂମିକମ୍ପ ହେଲା; ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସେହି ଭୂମିକମ୍ପରେ ନ ଥିଲେ।
12 And, after the earthquake, a, fire, Not, in the fire, was, Yahweh, —And, after the fire, the voice of a gentle whisper.
ଆଉ ଭୂମିକମ୍ପ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅଗ୍ନି ହେଲା; ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସେହି ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ନ ଥିଲେ; ପୁଣି, ଅଗ୍ନି ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଏକ ଶାନ୍ତ କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ର ରବ ହେଲା।
13 And it came to pass, when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went forth, and stood at the entrance of the cave, —and lo! unto him, a voice; and it said—What doest thou here, Elijah?
ତହୁଁ ଏଲୀୟ ତାହା ଶୁଣନ୍ତେ, ଆପଣା ବସ୍ତ୍ରରେ ମୁଖ ଆଚ୍ଛାଦନ କରି ବାହାରେ ଯାଇ ଗହ୍ୱର-ମୁଖ ନିକଟରେ ଠିଆ ହେଲେ। ତହିଁରେ ଦେଖ, ଏକ ରବ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇ କହିଲା, “ଏଲୀୟ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏଠାରେ କଅଣ କରୁଅଛ?”
14 And he said—Very jealous, have I been, for Yahweh, God of hosts, because the sons of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thine altars, have they thrown down, thy prophets also, have they slain with the sword, —and, I alone, am left, and they rove sought my life, to take it.
ତହୁଁ ସେ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସୈନ୍ୟାଧିପତି ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଉଦ୍ଯୋଗୀ ହେଲି; କାରଣ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିୟମ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଯଜ୍ଞବେଦିସବୁ ଉତ୍ପାଟନ କଲେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଖଡ୍ଗରେ ବଧ କଲେ; ତହିଁରେ, କେବଳ ମୁଁ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରହିଲି; ଆଉ ସେମାନେ ମୋହର ପ୍ରାଣ ନେବାକୁ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି।”
15 And Yahweh said unto him, Go, return to thy way, towards the wilderness of Damascus, —and, when thou enterest, then shalt thou anoint Hazael to be king over Syria;
ସେତେବେଳେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଆପଣା ପଥରେ ଫେରି ଦମ୍ମେଶକ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରକୁ ଯାଅ; ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେଠାରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ, ହସାୟେଲକୁ ଅରାମ ଉପରେ ରାଜାଭିଷିକ୍ତ କର;
16 And, Jehu son of Minshi, shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel, —and, Elisha son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah, shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy stead:
ଆଉ ନିମ୍ଶିର ପୁତ୍ର ଯେହୂଙ୍କୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଉପରେ ରାଜାଭିଷିକ୍ତ କର; ଆଉ ଆବେଲ୍-ମହୋଲା ନିବାସୀ ଶାଫଟ୍ର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଲୀଶାୟଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପଦରେ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା କରି ଅଭିଷେକ କର।
17 Then shall it come to pass, that—him that escapeth the sword of Hazael, shall, Jehu, slay, —and, him that escapeth the sword of Jehu, shall, Elisha, slay;
ତହିଁରେ ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ହସାୟେଲର ଖଡ୍ଗରୁ ବଞ୍ଚିବ, ଯେହୂ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିବ ଓ ଯେ ଯେହୂର ଖଡ୍ଗରୁ ବଞ୍ଚିବ, ତାହାକୁ ଇଲୀଶାୟ ବଧ କରିବ।
18 Yet will I leave remaining in Israel, seven thousand, —all knees which have not bowed to Baal, and all mouths which have not kissed to him.
ତଥାପି ଆମ୍ଭେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଆପଣା ପାଇଁ ସାତ ସହସ୍ର ଲୋକ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରଖିବା, ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କର ଆଣ୍ଠୁ ବାଲ୍ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ନତ ହୋଇ ନାହିଁ ଓ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କର ମୁଖ ତାହାକୁ ଚୁମ୍ବନ କରି ନାହିଁ।”
19 So he departed from thence, and found Elisha son of Shaphat, as he was plowing, with twelve yoke of oxen before him, he being with the twelfth, —so Elijah crossed over unto him, and cast his mantle towards him;
ଏଥିରେ ଏଲୀୟ ଏଠାରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କରି ଶାଫଟ୍ର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଲୀଶାୟଙ୍କର ସନ୍ଧାନ ପାଇଲେ। ସେସମୟରେ ସେ ହଳ ବୁଲାଉଥିଲେ, ତାଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ବାର ହଳ ବଳଦ ଥିଲେ, ପୁଣି, ସେ ଦ୍ୱାଦଶ ହଳରେ ଥିଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ଏଲୀୟ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଇ ଆପଣା ବସ୍ତ୍ର ତାଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ପକାଇଲେ।
20 and he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said—Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, that I may follow thee. And he said unto him, —Go, turn back, for what have I done to thee?
ତହିଁରେ ସେ ବଳଦ ଛାଡ଼ି ଏଲୀୟଙ୍କ ପଛେ ଦୌଡ଼ି ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ମୋʼ ପିତା ଓ ମାତାଙ୍କୁ ଚୁମ୍ବନ ଦେବା ପାଇଁ ଅନୁମତି ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ, ତହିଁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ମୁଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପଛେ ଯିବି।” ତହୁଁ ଏଲୀୟ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଫେରିଯାଅ; କିନ୍ତୁ ଚିନ୍ତା କର ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର କଅଣ କଲୁ।”
21 So he turned back from following him, and took the yoke of oxen, and sacrificed them, and, with the implements of the oxen, boiled their flesh, and gave unto the people, and they did eat, —then he arose, and followed Elijah, and ministered unto him.
ତହିଁରେ ସେ ତାଙ୍କ ପଶ୍ଚାତ୍ଗମନରୁ ଫେରିଗଲେ ଓ ସେହି ବଳଦ ହଳକ ନେଇ ବଧ କରି ଯୁଆଳି କାଠରେ ସେହି ମାଂସ ସିଦ୍ଧ କରି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦିଅନ୍ତେ, ସେମାନେ ଭୋଜନ କଲେ। ତହୁଁ ସେ ଉଠି ଏଲୀୟଙ୍କର ପଶ୍ଚାତ୍ଗମନ କରି ତାଙ୍କର ପରିଚର୍ଯ୍ୟା କଲେ।
