< 1 Kings 16 >
1 Then came the word of Yahweh unto Jehu
A LAILA hiki mai la ka olelo a Iehova ia Iehu ke keiki a Hanani, e ku e ana ia Baasa, i ka i ana mai,
2 son of Hanani, against Baasha, saying: Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and gave thee to be leader over my people Israel, —and yet thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and caused, my people Israel, to sin, provoking me to anger with their sins,
No ka mea, ua hookiekie ae au ia oe mai ka lepo ae, a hoolilo au ia oe i alii maluna o ko'u poe kanaka Iseraela; a ua hele hoi oe ma ka aoao o Ieroboama, a ua hoolilo ae oe i ko'u poe kanaka Iseraela e lawehala, e hoonaukiuki mai lakou ia'u me ko lakou mau hewa;
3 Behold me! consuming after Baasha, and after his house, —and I will deliver up thy house, like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat:
Eia hoi, e kaili ae auanei au i ka hope o Baasa a me ka hope o kana ohana, a e hoolilo ae au i kou ohana e like me ka ohana a Ieroboama ke keiki a Nebata.
4 Him that dieth of Baasha in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, and, him that dieth of his in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat.
O ka Baasa mea e make maloko o ke kulanakauhale, oia ka na ilio e ai ai; a o kana mea e make ma kula, oia ka na manu o ka lewa e ai ai.
5 Now, the rest of the story of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
A o na oihana e ae a Baasa, a me kana mea i hana'i, a me kona ikaika, aole anei ia i kakauia ma ka buke 'a na lii o ka Iseraela?
6 So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah, —and, Elah his son, reigned, in his stead.
7 Moreover also, through Jehu son of Hanani the prophet, the word of Yahweh, came against Baasha and against his house, even because of all the wickedness that he had done in the eyes of Yahweh, provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, becoming like the house of Jeroboam, —notwithstanding that he smote him.
Eia hoi, ma ka lima o Iehu ke kaula, ke keiki a Hanani i hiki mai ai ka Iehova olelo ku e ia Baasa, a i kana ohana hoi, no ka hewa a pau ana i hana'i imua o na maka o Iehova, e hoonaukiuki ia ia me ka hana a kona mau lima, i kona hoohalike ana me ka ohana a Ieroboama, a no kona pepehi ana ia ia.
8 In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, began Elah son of Baasha to reign over Israel, in Tirzah, [and he reigned] two years.
9 Then conspired against him his servant Zimri, captain of half the chariots, —as he was in Tirzah drinking himself drunk, in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah.
A kipi ae la ia ia kana kauwa o Zimeri ka luna o ka hapalua o kona mau kaa, ia ia ma Tireza, e inu ana a ona maloko o ka hale o Areza ka puuku o kona hale ma Tireza.
10 And Zimri went in, and smote him and slew him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, —and reigned in his stead.
11 And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he smote all the house of Baasha, he left him not even the meanest, —neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
Eia hoi kekahi, ia ia i hoomaka ai i kona alii ana, a noho ia ma ka nohoalii, pepehi koke ae la oia i ka ohana a pau a Baasa: aole oia i hokoe nona i kekahi kane, o kona io, a o kona mau hanauna.
12 Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, —according to the word of Yahweh which he spake unto Baasha, through Jehu the prophet;
Pela i luku ai o Zimeri i ka ohana a pau a Baasa, e like me ka olelo a Iehova ana i olelo ku e ai ia Baasa ma ka lima o Iehu ke kaula;
13 as to all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, —wherewith they sinned, and wherewith they caused, Israel, to sin, provoking to anger Yahweh God of Israel, with their vanities.
No na hewa a pau o Baasa, a no na hewa o Ela kana keiki, i lawehala ai laua, a i hoolilo ai hoi laua i ka Iseraela e lawehala, i ka hoonaukiuki ana ia Iehova ke Akua o ka Iseraela ma ko laua mau mea lapuwale.
14 Now, the rest of the story of Elah, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
A o na oihana e ae a Ela, a o ka mea a pau ana i hana'i, aole anei ia i kakauia ma ka buke oihana a na lii o ka Iseraela?
15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, did Zimri reign, seven days in Tirzah, —but, the people, were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistine.
16 When therefore the people who were encamped, heard say, Zimri hath conspired, moreover also, he hath smitten the king, all Israel made Omri, general of the army, king over Israel, on that day, in the camp.
A lohe ae na kanaka hoomoana i ka olelo, ua kipi o Zimeri a ua pepehi hoi i ke alii: nolaila hooalii ae la ka Iseraela a pau ia Omeri ka alihikaua i alii maluna o ka Iseraela ia la i kahi hoomoana.
17 So Omri, and all Israel with him, went up from Gibbethon, —and laid siege against Tirzah.
Pii ae la o Omeri a me ka Iseraela pu a pau me ia, mai Gibetona ae, a hoopuni ae la ia Tireza.
18 And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was captured, that he entered into the citadel of the house of the king, —and burned over him the house of the king, with fire, and died:
Eia hoi kekahi, i ka ike ana o Zimeri ua hoopioia ke kulanakauhale, komo ae la oia i ke keena alii o ko ke alii hale, a puhi iho la i ka hale o ke alii maluna o kona poo iho, a make iho la,
19 because of his sins which he committed by doing the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —by walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he committed, by causing, Israel, to sin.
No kona mau hewa ana i hana'i, i kana hana ino ana imua o na maka o Iehova, a i kona hele ana ma ka aoao o Ieroboama, a me kona hewa ana i hana'i, i lawehala ai ka Iseraela.
20 Now, the rest of the story of Zimri, and his conspiracy wherein he conspired, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
A o na oihana e ae a Zimeri, a me kona kipi ana, ana i hana'i, aole anei ia i kakauia ma ka buke oihana a na lii o ka Iseraela?
21 Then, were the people of Israel divided, —half the people, were following Tibni son of Ginath, to make him king, and, half, following Omri.
Alaila maheleia'e la na kanaka o ka Iseraela i na apana elua: hahai kekahi hapalua mamuli o Tibeni ke keiki a Ginata, e hoalii ia ia; a hahai ae la kekahi hapalua mamuli o Omeri.
22 But, the people that followed Omri, prevailed against, the people that followed Tibni son of Ginath; so that, Tibni, died, and, Omri, reigned.
Lanakila ae la ka poe kanaka i hahai mamuli o Omeri maluna o ka poe kanaka i hahai mamuli o Tibeni ke keiki a Ginata, a make o Tibeni, a alii ae la o Omeri.
23 In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, began Omri to reign over Israel [and he reigned] twelve years: in Tirzah, reigned he six years.
24 And he bought the hill Samaria, of Shemer, for two talents of silver, —and built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer lord of the hill—Samaria.
Kuai lilo mai la oia me Semera, i ka puu Samaria, i na talena kala elua, a kukulu ae la maluna o ka puu, a kapa ae i ka inoa o ke kulanakauhale ana i hana'i, o Samaria, mamuli o ka inoa o Semera ka haku aina o ka puu.
25 And Omri did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and did more wickedly than all who were before him;
Aka, ua hana hewa ae la o Omeri imua o na maka o Iehova, a hoopakela aku i kona hewa mamua o ka poe a pau mamua ona.
26 yea he walked in all the way of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and in his sin wherewith he caused, Israel, to sin, —provoking to anger Yahweh, God of Israel, with their vanities.
No ka mea, na hele ae la oia ma na aoao a pau o Ieroboama ke keiki a Nebata, a me kona hewa i hoolilo ai oia i ka Iseraela e lawehala, e hoonaukiuki ia Iehova ke Akua o ka Iseraela ma ko lakou mau mea lapuwale.
27 Now, the rest of the story of Omri, what he did, and his might that he shewed, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
A o na oihana e ae a Omeri i hana'i a me ka ikaika ana i hoike ai, aole anei ia i kakauia ma ka buke oihana o na lii o ka Iseraela?
28 So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria, —and, Ahab his son, reigned, in his stead.
29 Now, Ahab son of Omri, began to reign over Israel, in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, —and Ahab son of Omri reigned over Israel, in Samaria, twenty-two years.
30 And Ahab son of Omri did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and did more wickedly than all that were before him.
Hoopakela ae la o Ahaba ke keiki a Omeri i ka hana hewa imua o na maka o Iehova mamua o ka poe a pau mamua ona.
31 And it come to pass, as though it had been too light a thing that he should walk in the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel, daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and bowed down to him.
Eia hoi kekahi, me he mea la, he mea uuku nona ke hele ma na hewa o Ieroboama ke keiki a Nebata, lawe iho la oia ia Iesebela ke kaikamahine a Etebaala ke alii o ko Sidona, i wahine, a hele hoi ia e malama ia Baala, a hoomana ae la ia ia,
32 And he reared an altar unto Baal, —in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria.
33 And Ahab made the Sacred Stem, —and Ahab did yet more to provoke to anger Yahweh God of Israel than all the kings of Israel who were before him.
Hana iho la o Ahaba i wahi e hoomana'i, a ua oi aku ko Ahaba hoonaukiuki ana ia Iehova ke Akua o ka Iseraela mamua o na alii a pau o ka Iseraela mamua ona.
34 In his days, did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho, —At the price of Abiram his firstborn, he laid its foundation, and, at the price of Segub his youngest, he set up its doors, according to the word of Yahweh which he spake through Joshua son of Nun.
I kona mau la hoi, kukulu ae la o Hiela no Betela ia Ieriko; a ia Abirama i kana hiapo i hoonoho ai oia i ke kumu, a ia Seguba kana keiki hope loa i kukulu ai oia i na pani; e like me ka Iehova olelo ana i olelo mai ai ma ka lima o Iosua ke keiki a Nuna.
