< 1 Kings 16 >

1 Then came the word of Yahweh unto Jehu
Le ɣeyiɣi sia me la, Yehowa ƒe gbe va na Fia Baasa to Nyagblɔɖila Yehu dzi be,
2 son of Hanani, against Baasha, saying: Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and gave thee to be leader over my people Israel, —and yet thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and caused, my people Israel, to sin, provoking me to anger with their sins,
“Meɖe wò tso ke me be, nàɖu fia ɖe nye dukɔ Israel dzi. Ke èto Yeroboam ƒe nu vɔ̃ wɔwɔ ƒe mɔwo dzi. Èna nye dukɔ, Israel wɔ nu vɔ̃ eye wodo dziku nam kple woƒe nu vɔ̃wo,
3 Behold me! consuming after Baasha, and after his house, —and I will deliver up thy house, like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat:
eya ta azɔ la, matsrɔ̃ wò kple wò ƒometɔwo abe ale si metsrɔ̃ Yeroboam ƒe dzidzimeviwo ene.
4 Him that dieth of Baasha in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, and, him that dieth of his in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat.
Wò ƒometɔ siwo aku le dua me la, avuwo aɖu wo eye esiwo aku ɖe gbedzi la, akagawo aɖu wo.”
5 Now, the rest of the story of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Woŋlɔ nu bubu ɖe sia ɖe si Baasa wɔ kple eƒe kalẽwɔwɔwo ɖe Israel fiawo ƒe ŋutinyagbalẽ me.
6 So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah, —and, Elah his son, reigned, in his stead.
Baasa ku woɖii ɖe Tirza eye via Ela ɖu fia ɖe eteƒe.
7 Moreover also, through Jehu son of Hanani the prophet, the word of Yahweh, came against Baasha and against his house, even because of all the wickedness that he had done in the eyes of Yahweh, provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, becoming like the house of Jeroboam, —notwithstanding that he smote him.
Nyagblɔɖila Yehu gblɔ nya si tso Yehowa gbɔ, tso Baasa kple eƒe ƒometɔwo ŋu le nu vɔ̃ siwo Baasa wɔ ɖe Yehowa ŋu ta. Edo dɔmedzoe na Yehowa, menye le eya ŋutɔ ƒe nu vɔ̃ ɖeɖe ko ta, abe ale si Yeroboam wɔ le eŋgɔ ene o, ke boŋ le ale si wòwu Yeroboam ƒe ƒometɔwo katã hã ta.
8 In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, began Elah son of Baasha to reign over Israel, in Tirzah, [and he reigned] two years.

9 Then conspired against him his servant Zimri, captain of half the chariots, —as he was in Tirzah drinking himself drunk, in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah.
Aʋafia Zimri, ame si kpɔa fia la ƒe tasiaɖamwo ƒe afã dzi la ɖo nugbe ɖe Fia Ela ŋu. Gbe ɖeka la, esi Fia Ela mu aha afã kple afã le Arza, ame si nye fiasãdzikpɔla ƒe aƒe me le Tirza, si nye fiadu la me la,
10 And Zimri went in, and smote him and slew him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, —and reigned in his stead.
Zimri zɔ tẽe ɖatɔ nue ƒu anyi eye wòku. Nya sia dzɔ le Yuda fia Asa ƒe fiaɖuɖu ƒe ƒe blaeve-vɔ-adrelia me. Zimri tsɔ eɖokui ɖo Israel fiae ɖe eteƒe.
11 And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he smote all the house of Baasha, he left him not even the meanest, —neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
Ewu Fia Baasa ƒe ƒometɔwo katã enumake eye megblẽ ŋutsu ɖeka pɛ gɔ̃ hã ɖi o. Ewu eƒe ƒometɔ siwo mete ɖe eŋu tututu o kple exɔlɔ̃wo gɔ̃ hã.
12 Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, —according to the word of Yahweh which he spake unto Baasha, through Jehu the prophet;

14 Now, the rest of the story of Elah, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Woŋlɔ nu mamlɛawo tso Ela ƒe fiaɖuɖu ŋu ɖe Israel fiawo ƒe ŋutinyagbalẽ me.
15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, did Zimri reign, seven days in Tirzah, —but, the people, were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistine.
Le Asa, Yuda fia ƒe fiaɖuɖu ƒe ƒe blaeve-vɔ-adrelia me la, Zimri ɖu fia le Tirza ŋkeke adre. Aʋakɔ la ƒu asaɖa anyi ɖe Gibeton si nye Filistitɔwo ƒe du aɖe la xa.
16 When therefore the people who were encamped, heard say, Zimri hath conspired, moreover also, he hath smitten the king, all Israel made Omri, general of the army, king over Israel, on that day, in the camp.
Esime Israelviwo se le asaɖa la me be Zimri ɖo nugbe ɖe fia la ŋu eye wòwui la, wotsɔ Omri, woƒe aʋafia la ɖo fiae gbe ma gbe ke le asaɖa la me.

18 And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was captured, that he entered into the citadel of the house of the king, —and burned over him the house of the king, with fire, and died:
Esi Zimri kpɔ be futɔwo xɔ Tirza la, eyi fiasã la me hetɔ dzoe ɖe eɖokui dzi eye wòku ɖe dzo la me.

21 Then, were the people of Israel divided, —half the people, were following Tibni son of Ginath, to make him king, and, half, following Omri.
Azɔ la, Israel fiaɖuƒe la ma ɖe akpa eve me; akpa ɖeka nɔ Aʋafia Omri dzi eye akpa evelia nɔ Tibni, Ginat ƒe vi dzi.
22 But, the people that followed Omri, prevailed against, the people that followed Tibni son of Ginath; so that, Tibni, died, and, Omri, reigned.

31 And it come to pass, as though it had been too light a thing that he should walk in the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel, daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and bowed down to him.
