1 Kings 15

1 Now, in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, began Abijah to reign over Judah.

El año 18 del rey Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, Abiam comenzó a reinar sobre Judá.

2 Three years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Maachah, daughter of Abishalom.

Reinó tres años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Maaca, hija de Abisalón.

3 And he walked in all the sins of his father which he had done before him, —and his heart was not blameless with Yahweh his God, like the heart of David his father.

Vivió en todos los pecados que su padre cometió antes de él. Su corazón no fue íntegro con Yavé su ʼElohim, como el corazón de David su antepasado.

4 But, for the sake of David, did Yahweh his God give him a lamp, in Jerusalem, —by raising up a son of his after him, and by suffering Jerusalem to stand;

Pero por amor a David, Yavé su ʼElohim le dio una lámpara en Jerusalén, al levantar después de él a un hijo suyo, y mantener en pie a Jerusalén,

5 because David did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —and turned not aside from anything that he commanded him, all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

porque David hizo lo recto ante Yavé, sin apartarse en ninguna cosa que Él le ordenó todos los días de su vida, excepto en el asunto de Urías heteo.

6 And there was, war, between Rehoboam and Jeroboam, all the days of his life.

Hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todo el tiempo de ambos.

7 Now, the rest of the story of Abijah and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there was, war, between Abijah and Jeroboam.

Los demás hechos y cosas de Abiam, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Hubo guerra entre Abiam y Jeroboam.

8 So then Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David, —and, Asa his son, reigned, in his stead.

Abiam descansó con sus antepasados y lo sepultaron en la ciudad de David. Su hijo Asa reinó en su lugar.

9 Now, in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, began Asa to reign as king of Judah;

El año 20 de Jeroboam, rey de Israel, Asa comenzó a reinar sobre Judá,

10 and, forty-one years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Maachah, daughter of Abishalom.

y reinó 41 años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Maaca, hija de Abisalón.

11 And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —like David his father;

Asa hizo lo recto ante Yavé, como David su antepasado.

12 and he put away the male devotees out of the land, —and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

Barrió a los sodomitas del país y quitó todos los ídolos que sus antepasados hicieron.

13 Moreover also, even Maachah his mother, he removed from being queen, because she had made a monstrous thing to the Sacred Stem, —and Asa cut down her monstrous thing and burned it in the Kidron ravine.

También depuso a su madre Maaca de ser reina madre, porque ella hizo una horrorosa imagen de Asera. Asa taló la imagen horrorosa y la quemó junto al arroyo de Cedrón,

14 But, the high places, removed he not, —nevertheless, the heart of Asa, was blameless with Yahweh, all his days.

pero los lugares altos no fueron quitados. Sin embargo, el corazón de Asa fue íntegro ante Yavé todos sus días.

15 And he brought in the hallowed things of his father, and his own hallowed things, into the house of Yahweh, —silver and gold, and vessels.

Llevó lo que su padre consagró a la Casa de Yavé, y plata, oro y utensilios que él mismo consagró.

16 And there was, war, between Asa and Baasha king of Israel, all their days.

Hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, todo el tiempo de ambos.

17 And Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, —so as not to suffer any one to come out or go in unto Asa king of Judah.

Baasa, rey de Israel, subió contra Judá. Fortificó a Ramá, para impedir que alguno accediera a Asa, rey de Judá, o saliera de él.

18 So Asa took all the silver and the gold, that were left in the treasuries of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, and delivered them into the hand of his servants, —and King Asa sent them unto Ben-hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion, king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying:

Entonces Asa tomó toda la plata y el oro que quedaron en los tesoros de la Casa de Yavé y la casa real, y los entregó en mano de sus servidores. El rey Asa los envió a Ben-hadad, hijo de Tabrimón, hijo de Hezión, rey de Siria, que vivía en Damasco, y dijo:

19 [Let there be a] covenant between me and thee, [as] between my father and thy father: Lo! I have sent thee a gift, silver and gold, Come break thy covenant with Baasha, king of Israel, that he may go up from against me.

¡Haya un tratado entre tú y yo, como hubo entre mi padre y tu padre! Mira, te envío un obsequio de plata y oro. ¡Vé y rompe tu tratado con Baasa, rey de Israel, para que se aparte de mí!

20 So Ben-hadad hearkened unto King Asa, and sent the generals of the forces which he had, against the cities of Israel, and smote Iyyohn [Ijon], and Dan, and Abel-beth-maacah, —and all Chinneroth, against all the land of Naphtali.

Ben-hadad escuchó al rey Asa. Envió a los jefes de sus ejércitos contra las ciudades de Israel y atacó a Ijón, Dan, Abel-bet-macá y toda la región de Cineret, además de todo el territorio de Neftalí.

21 And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, he left off building Ramah, —and returned to Tirzah.

Sucedió que cuando Baasa oyó esto, dejó de fortificar Ramá y permaneció en Tirsa.

22 And, King Asa, published it unto all Judah, none was exempted, so they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the beams thereof, wherewith Baasha had built, —and King Asa built therewith Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

Entonces el rey Asa convocó a todo Judá sin excepción. Se llevaron las piedras y la madera de Ramá, con las cuales Baasa la estaba fortificando, y con ellas el rey Asa edificó Geba de Benjamín y Mizpa.

23 Now, the rest of all the story of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did and the cities which he built, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? Howbeit, in the time of his old age, he was diseased in his feet.

Los demás hechos y cosas de Asa, todo su poderío y las ciudades que edificó, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Pero en los días de su vejez, enfermó de los pies.

24 So then Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers, in the city of David his father, —and, Jehoshaphat his son, reigned, in his stead.

Asa descansó con sus antepasados y fue sepultado con ellos en la ciudad de David su antepasado. Su hijo Josafat reinó en su lugar.

25 Now, Nadab son of Jeroboam, began to reign over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, —and he reigned over Israel, two years.

El año segundo de Asa, rey de Judá, Nadab, hijo de Jeroboam, comenzó a reinar en Israel, y reinó dos años.

26 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin, wherewith he caused, Israel, to sin.

Hizo lo malo ante Yavé, anduvo en el camino de su padre, y con sus pecados estimuló a pecar a Israel.

27 And Baasha son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him, and Baasha smote him in Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines, —Nadab and all Israel being in siege against Gibbethon.

Baasa, hijo de Ahías, de la tribu de Isacar, conspiró contra él, y lo mató en Gibetón, ciudad de los filisteos, cuando Nadab y todo Israel tenían sitiada a Gibetón.

28 And Baasha slew him, in the third year of Asa king of Judah, —and reigned in his stead.

En el tercer año de Asa, rey de Judá, Baasa mató a Nadab, y reinó en su lugar.

29 And it came to pass, when he became king, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam, he left not remaining any breathing thing pertaining to Jeroboam, until he had destroyed him, —according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake by the hand of his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:

Sucedió que tan pronto como fue rey, mató a todos los de la familia de Jeroboam. No dejó con vida a ninguno de los de Jeroboam, según la Palabra que Yavé habló por medio de su esclavo Ahías silonita,

30 for the sins of Jeroboam which he committed, and which he caused, Israel, to commit, —by his provocation wherewith he provoked to anger Yahweh God of Israel.

a causa de los pecados que cometió Jeroboam, con los cuales estimuló a pecar a Israel, cuya acción provocó a ira a Yavé, ʼElohim de Israel.

31 Now, the rest of the story of Nadab, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

Los demás hechos y cosas de Nadab, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

32 And there was, war, between Asa and Baasha king of Israel, all their days.

Hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, todo el tiempo de ambos.

33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, began Baasha, son of Ahijah, to reign over all Israel, in Tirzah, [and he reigned] twenty-four years.

En el tercer año de Asa, rey de Judá, Baasa, hijo de Ahías, comenzó a reinar sobre todo Israel en Tirsa, y reinó 24 años.

34 And he did that which was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he caused, Israel, to sin.

Él hizo lo malo ante Yavé, anduvo en el camino de Jeroboam, y con su pecado estimuló el pecado en Israel.
