1 Kings 15

1 Now, in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, began Abijah to reign over Judah.

Im achtzehnten Jahre des Königs Jeroboam, des Nabatsohnes, ward Abia König in Juda.

2 Three years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Maachah, daughter of Abishalom.

Er regierte zu Jerusalem drei Jahre, und seine Mutter hieß Maaka, des Abisalom Tochter.

3 And he walked in all the sins of his father which he had done before him, —and his heart was not blameless with Yahweh his God, like the heart of David his father.

Er wandelte in allen Sünden seines Vaters, die er vor ihm getan hatte, und sein Herz war nicht ganz beim Herrn, seinem Gott, wie seines Vaters David Herz.

4 But, for the sake of David, did Yahweh his God give him a lamp, in Jerusalem, —by raising up a son of his after him, and by suffering Jerusalem to stand;

Denn nur um Davids willen hatte ihm der Herr, sein Gott, eine Leuchte zu Jerusalem gelassen, daß er seinen Sohn nach ihm erstehen und Jerusalem bestehen ließ.

5 because David did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —and turned not aside from anything that he commanded him, all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

Denn David hatte getan, was recht war in den Augen des Herrn, und war in nichts abgewichen von dem, was er ihm geboten, sein ganzes Leben lang, außer in der Sache des Chittiters Urias.

6 And there was, war, between Rehoboam and Jeroboam, all the days of his life.

Zwischen Rechabeam und Jeroboam aber war zeitlebens Krieg.

7 Now, the rest of the story of Abijah and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there was, war, between Abijah and Jeroboam.

Ist der Rest der Geschichte Abias und alles dessen, was er getan, nicht im Buche der Geschichte der Könige Judas aufgeschrieben? Auch zwischen Abia und Jeroboam war Krieg.

8 So then Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David, —and, Asa his son, reigned, in his stead.

Als sich Abia zu seinen Vätern legte, begrub man ihn in der Davidsstadt, und sein Sohn Asa ward an seiner Statt König.

9 Now, in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, began Asa to reign as king of Judah;

Im zwanzigsten Jahre des israelitischen Königs Jeroboam ward Asa König in Juda.

10 and, forty-one years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Maachah, daughter of Abishalom.

Er regierte in Jerusalem einundvierzig Jahre. Seine Mutter hieß Maaka, des Abisalom Tochter.

11 And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —like David his father;

Asa tat, wie sein Ahne David, was recht war in des Herrn Augen.

12 and he put away the male devotees out of the land, —and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

So trieb er die Tempeldirnen aus dem Land und beseitigte all die Schandgestalten, die seine Väter gemacht hatten.

13 Moreover also, even Maachah his mother, he removed from being queen, because she had made a monstrous thing to the Sacred Stem, —and Asa cut down her monstrous thing and burned it in the Kidron ravine.

Auch seine Mutter Maaka setzte er als Herrin ab, weil sie ein Schandbild der Aschera gemacht hatte. Asa hieb ihr Schandbild um und verbrannte es im Kidrontal.

14 But, the high places, removed he not, —nevertheless, the heart of Asa, was blameless with Yahweh, all his days.

Die Höhen aber waren nicht beseitigt worden. Doch blieb Asas Herz ganz beim Herrn sein Leben lang.

15 And he brought in the hallowed things of his father, and his own hallowed things, into the house of Yahweh, —silver and gold, and vessels.

Er brachte seines Vaters Weihegaben und seine eigenen Gaben in das Haus des Herrn, Silber, Gold und Geräte.

16 And there was, war, between Asa and Baasha king of Israel, all their days.

Zwischen Asa und Baësa, Israels König, aber war immer Krieg.

17 And Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, —so as not to suffer any one to come out or go in unto Asa king of Judah.

Israels König Baësa nun zog gegen Juda und baute Rama aus, um dem Judakönig Asa Aus- und Einzug zu versperren.

18 So Asa took all the silver and the gold, that were left in the treasuries of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, and delivered them into the hand of his servants, —and King Asa sent them unto Ben-hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion, king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying:

Da nahm Asa alles Silber und Gold in den Schatzkammern des Hauses und die Schätze im königlichen Haus und händigte sie seinen Dienern ein. Dann sandte sie der König Asa zu dem König von Aram, Benhadad, dem Sohn des Tabrimmon und Chesjons Enkel, der zu Damaskus saß, und ließ ihm sagen:

19 [Let there be a] covenant between me and thee, [as] between my father and thy father: Lo! I have sent thee a gift, silver and gold, Come break thy covenant with Baasha, king of Israel, that he may go up from against me.

"Zwischen mir und dir sei ein Bund, wie zwischen meinem und deinem Vater! Hier sende ich dir ein Geschenk an Silber und Gold. Wohlan! Brich deinen Bund mit Israels König Baësa! Dann zieht er von mir ab."

20 So Ben-hadad hearkened unto King Asa, and sent the generals of the forces which he had, against the cities of Israel, and smote Iyyohn [Ijon], and Dan, and Abel-beth-maacah, —and all Chinneroth, against all the land of Naphtali.

Benhadad nun hörte auf König Asa und sandte seine Heeresobersten gegen die Städte Israels. Er verheerte ljjon, Dan, Abel Bet Maaka und ganz Kinerot samt dem ganzen Land Naphtali.

21 And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, he left off building Ramah, —and returned to Tirzah.

Als dies Baësa vernahm, ließ er den Ausbau von Rama und blieb in Tirsa.

22 And, King Asa, published it unto all Judah, none was exempted, so they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the beams thereof, wherewith Baasha had built, —and King Asa built therewith Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

Nun hatte der König Asa ganz Juda aufgeboten; keiner war davon befreit, und sie schafften die Steine und Balken fort, mit denen Baësa Rama ausgebaut hatte. König Asa baute damit Geba in Benjamin und Mispa aus.

23 Now, the rest of all the story of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did and the cities which he built, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? Howbeit, in the time of his old age, he was diseased in his feet.

Ist der Rest der Geschichte Asas und all seine Heldentaten und alles, was er sonst getan, sowie die Städte, die er ausgebaut, nicht im Buche der Geschichte der Könige Judas aufgezeichnet? Im Alter aber litt er an kranken Füßen.

24 So then Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers, in the city of David his father, —and, Jehoshaphat his son, reigned, in his stead.

Als sich Asa zu seinen Vätern legte, ward er bei seinen Vätern in der Davidsstadt begraben. Sein Sohn Josaphat ward an seiner Statt König.

25 Now, Nadab son of Jeroboam, began to reign over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, —and he reigned over Israel, two years.

Jeroboams Sohn Nadab war in Israel König geworden im zweiten Jahre des Judakönigs Asa. Er regierte über Israel zwei Jahre.

26 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin, wherewith he caused, Israel, to sin.

Und er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel, Und wandelte auf seines Vaters Weg und in seiner Sünde, zu der er Israel verführt hatte.

27 And Baasha son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him, and Baasha smote him in Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines, —Nadab and all Israel being in siege against Gibbethon.

Achias Sohn Baësa vom Hause Issakar aber verschwor sich gegen ihn. Und Baësa erschlug ihn zu Gibbeton, das den Philistern gehörte, als Nadab mit ganz Israel Gibbeton belagerte.

28 And Baasha slew him, in the third year of Asa king of Judah, —and reigned in his stead.

So tötete ihn Baësa im dritten Jahre des Judakönigs Asa und ward an seiner Statt König.

29 And it came to pass, when he became king, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam, he left not remaining any breathing thing pertaining to Jeroboam, until he had destroyed him, —according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake by the hand of his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:

Sobald er König geworden war, schlug er Jeroboams ganzes Haus. Er ließ von Jeroboam nichts übrig, was Odem hatte, bis er es vertilgt hatte, nach des Herrn Wort, das er durch seinen Diener Achia, den Siloniter, gesprochen hatte,

30 for the sins of Jeroboam which he committed, and which he caused, Israel, to commit, —by his provocation wherewith he provoked to anger Yahweh God of Israel.

Und zwar wegen Jeroboams Sünden, die er getan und zu denen er Israel verleitet durch das Ärgernis, durch das er dem Herrn, Israels Gott, eine Kränkung bereitet hatte.

31 Now, the rest of the story of Nadab, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

Ist der Rest der Geschichte Nadabs und alles dessen, was er getan, nicht im Buch der Geschichte der Könige Israels aufgezeichnet?

32 And there was, war, between Asa and Baasha king of Israel, all their days.

Zwischen Asa und dem König Israels, Baësa, aber war immer Krieg.

33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, began Baasha, son of Ahijah, to reign over all Israel, in Tirzah, [and he reigned] twenty-four years.

Im dritten Jahre des Judakönigs Asa ward des Achia Sohn Baësa König über Israels ganzen Rest zu Tirsa für vierundzwanzig Jahre.

34 And he did that which was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he caused, Israel, to sin.

Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel, und wandelte auf Jeroboams Weg und in seiner Sünde, zu der er Israel verführt hatte.
