1 Kings 15
1 Now, in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, began Abijah to reign over Judah.
১নবাটের ছেলে যারবিয়ামের রাজত্বের আঠারো বছরের দিন অবিয়াম যিহূদায় রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করেন।
2 Three years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Maachah, daughter of Abishalom.
২তিনি তিন বছর যিরূশালেমে রাজত্ব করেছিলেন। তাঁর মায়ের নাম ছিল মাখা; তিনি অবীশালোমের মেয়ে।
3 And he walked in all the sins of his father which he had done before him, —and his heart was not blameless with Yahweh his God, like the heart of David his father.
৩অবিয়ামের বাবা যে সব পাপ করেছিলেন তিনিও সেই সব পাপ করতে থাকলেন। তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষ দায়ূদের মত তাঁর হৃদয় তাঁর ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর প্রতি ভক্তি ছিল না।
4 But, for the sake of David, did Yahweh his God give him a lamp, in Jerusalem, —by raising up a son of his after him, and by suffering Jerusalem to stand;
৪তবুও দায়ূদের কথা মনে করে তাঁর ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু তাঁকে যিরূশালেমে একটা প্রদীপ দিলেন, অর্থাৎ তাঁর সিংহাসনে বসবার জন্য তাঁকে একটা ছেলে দিলেন এবং যিরূশালেমকে ধ্বংসের হাত থেকে রক্ষা করলেন,
5 because David did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —and turned not aside from anything that he commanded him, all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
৫কারণ সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা ঠিক দায়ূদ তাই করতেন। কেবল হিত্তীয় ঊরিয়ের ব্যাপারটা ছাড়া তাঁর সারা জীবনে তিনি সদাপ্রভুর কোনো আদেশই অমান্য করেননি।
6 And there was, war, between Rehoboam and Jeroboam, all the days of his life.
৬রহবিয়াম ও যারবিয়ামের মধ্যে যে যুদ্ধ আরম্ভ হয়েছিল তা অবিয়ামের সারা জীবন ধরে চলেছিল।
7 Now, the rest of the story of Abijah and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there was, war, between Abijah and Jeroboam.
৭অবিয়ামের অন্যান্য কাজ, অর্থাৎ তিনি যা কিছু করেছিলেন তা যিহূদার রাজাদের ইতিহাস নামে বইটিতে কি লেখা নেই? অবিয়াম ও যারবিয়ামের মধ্যে যুদ্ধ হত।
8 So then Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David, —and, Asa his son, reigned, in his stead.
৮পরে অবিয়াম তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে নিদ্রায় গেলেন, আর দায়ূদ শহরে তাঁকে কবর দেওয়া হল। তাঁর জায়গায় তাঁর ছেলে আসা রাজা হলেন।
9 Now, in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, began Asa to reign as king of Judah;
৯ইস্রায়েলের রাজা যারবিয়ামের রাজত্বের কুড়ি বছরের দিনের আসা যিহূদায় রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করলেন।
10 and, forty-one years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Maachah, daughter of Abishalom.
১০তিনি একচল্লিশ বছর যিরূশালেমে রাজত্ব করেছিলেন। তাঁর ঠাকুমার নাম ছিল মাখা। তিনি ছিলেন অবীশালোমের মেয়ে।
11 And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —like David his father;
১১তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষ দায়ূদের মত আসা সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা ঠিক তাই করতেন।
12 and he put away the male devotees out of the land, —and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
১২তিনি দেশ থেকে পুরুষ বেশ্যাদের তাড়িয়ে দিলেন এবং পূর্বপুরুষদের তৈরী সব মূর্তিগুলোও সরিয়ে দিলেন।
13 Moreover also, even Maachah his mother, he removed from being queen, because she had made a monstrous thing to the Sacred Stem, —and Asa cut down her monstrous thing and burned it in the Kidron ravine.
১৩এমন কি, তিনি তাঁর ঠাকুমা মাখাকেও রাজমাতার পদ থেকে সরিয়ে দিলেন, কারণ তিনি একটা জঘন্য আশেরা মূর্ত্তি তৈরী করিয়েছিলেন। আসা সেই মূর্তিটা কেটে ফেলে কিদ্রোণ উপত্যকায় নিয়ে গিয়ে সেটা পুড়িয়ে দিলেন।
14 But, the high places, removed he not, —nevertheless, the heart of Asa, was blameless with Yahweh, all his days.
১৪উঁচু জায়গাগুলো যদিও তিনি ধ্বংস করেননি তবুও সারা জীবন আসার হৃদয় সদাপ্রভুর প্রতি সম্পূর্ণ অনুগত ছিল।
15 And he brought in the hallowed things of his father, and his own hallowed things, into the house of Yahweh, —silver and gold, and vessels.
১৫তিনি ও তাঁর বাবা যে সব সোনা, রূপা ও অন্যান্য জিনিস সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে পবিত্র করে রেখেছিলেন সেগুলো তিনি সদাপ্রভুর ঘরে নিয়ে গেলেন।
16 And there was, war, between Asa and Baasha king of Israel, all their days.
১৬আসা ও ইস্রায়েলের রাজা বাশার গোটা রাজত্বকাল ধরে তাঁদের মধ্যে যুদ্ধ চলেছিল।
17 And Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, —so as not to suffer any one to come out or go in unto Asa king of Judah.
১৭ইস্রায়েলের রাজা বাশা যিহূদার লোকদের বিরুদ্ধে গিয়ে রামা শহরটা দুর্গের মত করে গড়ে তুলতে লাগলেন যাতে কেউ যিহূদার রাজা আসার কাছে যাওয়া আসা করতে না পারে।
18 So Asa took all the silver and the gold, that were left in the treasuries of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, and delivered them into the hand of his servants, —and King Asa sent them unto Ben-hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion, king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying:
১৮সদাপ্রভুর ঘরে এবং নিজের রাজবাড়ীর ভান্ডারে যে সব সোনা ও রূপা ছিল আসা সেগুলো সব বের করে নিলেন। সেগুলো তাঁর কর্মচারীদের হাতে দিয়ে অরামের রাজা বিনহদদের কাছে পাঠিয়ে দিলেন। বিনহদদ ছিলেন টব্রিম্মোণের ছেলে হিষিয়োণের নাতি। তিনি তখন দম্মেশকে রাজত্ব করছিলেন। আসা তাঁকে বলে পাঠালেন,
19 [Let there be a] covenant between me and thee, [as] between my father and thy father: Lo! I have sent thee a gift, silver and gold, Come break thy covenant with Baasha, king of Israel, that he may go up from against me.
১৯“আমার ও আপনার বাবার মত আসুন, আমরাও আমাদের মধ্যে একটা চুক্তি করি। আমি আপনাকে এই সব সোনা ও রূপো উপহার পাঠালাম। ইস্রায়েলের রাজা বাশার সঙ্গে আপনি এখন চুক্তি ভেঙে ফেলুন, তাতে সে আমার কাছ থেকে চলে যাবে।”
20 So Ben-hadad hearkened unto King Asa, and sent the generals of the forces which he had, against the cities of Israel, and smote Iyyohn [Ijon], and Dan, and Abel-beth-maacah, —and all Chinneroth, against all the land of Naphtali.
২০রাজা আসার কথায় বিনহদদ রাজি হয়ে তাঁর সেনাপতিদের ইস্রায়েলের শহরগুলোর বিরুদ্ধে পাঠিয়ে দিলেন। তিনি ইয়োন, দান, আবেল বৈৎ-মাখা ও সমস্ত কিন্নেরৎ এবং তার সঙ্গে নপ্তালি এলাকাটা দখল করে নিলেন।
21 And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, he left off building Ramah, —and returned to Tirzah.
২১বাশা এই কথা শুনে রামা শহর গড়ে তুলবার কাজ বন্ধ করে তির্সাতে ফিরে গেলেন।
22 And, King Asa, published it unto all Judah, none was exempted, so they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the beams thereof, wherewith Baasha had built, —and King Asa built therewith Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
২২তারপর রাজা আসা যিহূদার সকলের উপর একটা ঘোষণা করলেন, কাউকে বাদ দিলেন না। তাতে লোকেরা রামায় বাশার ব্যবহার করা পাথর ও কাঠ সব নিয়ে গেল। রাজা আসা সেই সব দিয়ে বিন্যামীনের গেবা ও মিস্পা শহর দুর্গের মত করে গড়ে তুললেন।
23 Now, the rest of all the story of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did and the cities which he built, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? Howbeit, in the time of his old age, he was diseased in his feet.
২৩আসার অন্যান্য সব কাজ, যুদ্ধে তাঁর জয়ের কথা, তিনি যা কিছু করেছিলেন এবং যে সব শহর তিনি গড়ে তুলেছিলেন তা যিহূদার রাজাদের ইতিহাস নামে বইটিতে কি লেখা নেই? বুড়ো বয়সে আসার পায়ে একটা রোগ হল।
24 So then Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers, in the city of David his father, —and, Jehoshaphat his son, reigned, in his stead.
২৪পরে আসা তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে নিদ্রায় গেলেন এবং তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষ দায়ূদের শহরে তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে তাঁকে কবর দেওয়া হল। তাঁর ছেলে যিহোশাফট তাঁর জায়গায় রাজা হলেন।
25 Now, Nadab son of Jeroboam, began to reign over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, —and he reigned over Israel, two years.
২৫যিহূদার রাজা আসার রাজত্বের দ্বিতীয় বছরে যারবিয়ামের ছেলে নাদব ইস্রায়েলের উপর রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করলেন। তিনি ইস্রায়েলে দুই বছর রাজত্ব করেছিলেন।
26 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin, wherewith he caused, Israel, to sin.
২৬সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা মন্দ তিনি তাই করতেন। তিনি তাঁর বাবার মত চলতেন, অর্থাৎ তাঁর বাবা ইস্রায়েলীয়দের দিয়ে যেমন পাপ করিয়েছিলেন তিনিও তাই করেছিলেন।
27 And Baasha son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him, and Baasha smote him in Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines, —Nadab and all Israel being in siege against Gibbethon.
২৭ইষাখর গোষ্ঠীর অহিয়ের ছেলে বাশা নাদবের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করলেন। নাদব ও সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলীয়েরা যখন পলেষ্টীয়দের গিব্বথোন ঘেরাও করেছিল তখন বাশা গিব্বথোনে নাদবকে মেরে ফেললেন।
28 And Baasha slew him, in the third year of Asa king of Judah, —and reigned in his stead.
২৮যিহূদার রাজা আসার রাজত্বের তৃতীয় বছরে বাশা নাদবকে মেরে ফেলে তাঁর জায়গায় রাজা হলেন।
29 And it came to pass, when he became king, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam, he left not remaining any breathing thing pertaining to Jeroboam, until he had destroyed him, —according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake by the hand of his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:
২৯তিনি রাজা হয়েই যারবিয়ামের পরিবারের সবাইকে মেরে ফেললেন। সদাপ্রভু তাঁর দাস শীলোনীয় ভাববাদী অহিয়ের মধ্য দিয়ে যে কথা বলেছিলেন সেই অনুসারে বাশা যারবিয়ামের পরিবারের সবাইকে ধ্বংস করে ফেললেন।
30 for the sins of Jeroboam which he committed, and which he caused, Israel, to commit, —by his provocation wherewith he provoked to anger Yahweh God of Israel.
৩০এর কারণ হল, যারবিয়াম নিজে পাপ করেছিলেন এবং ইস্রায়েলকে দিয়েও পাপ করিয়েছিলেন আর তা করে তিনি ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুকে অসন্তুষ্ট করে তুলেছিলেন।
31 Now, the rest of the story of Nadab, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?
৩১নাদবের অন্যান্য কাজ, অর্থাৎ তিনি যা কিছু করেছিলেন তা ইস্রায়েলের রাজাদের ইতিহাস নামে বইটিতে কি লেখা নেই?
32 And there was, war, between Asa and Baasha king of Israel, all their days.
৩২আসা ও ইস্রায়েলের রাজা বাশার গোটা রাজত্বকাল ধরে তাঁদের মধ্যে যুদ্ধ হয়েছিল।
33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, began Baasha, son of Ahijah, to reign over all Israel, in Tirzah, [and he reigned] twenty-four years.
৩৩ইস্রায়েলের রাজা বাশা যিহূদার রাজা আসার রাজত্বের তৃতীয় বছরে গোটা ইস্রায়েল দেশের উপরে অহিয়ের ছেলে বাশা তির্সায় রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করেছিলেন। তিনি চব্বিশ বছর রাজত্ব করেছিলেন।
34 And he did that which was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he caused, Israel, to sin.
৩৪তিনি সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা মন্দ তাই করতেন। তিনি যারবিয়ামের মত চলতেন, অর্থাৎ যারবিয়াম যেমন ইস্রায়েলীয়দের দিয়ে পাপ করিয়েছিলেন তিনিও তাই করেছিলেন।
