1 Kings 13
1 And lo! a man of God, came in out of Judah, by the word of Yahweh, unto Bethel, —as Jeroboam was standing by the altar, to make a perfume.
১ধূপ জ্বালাবার জন্য যারবিয়াম যখন বেদির কাছে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিলেন তখন সদাপ্রভুর কথামত ঈশ্বরের একজন লোক যিহূদা থেকে বৈথেলে উপস্থিত হলেন।
2 And he made proclamation against the altar, by the word of Yahweh, and said, O altar! altar! Thus, saith Yahweh, —Lo! a son to be born unto the house of David, Josiah his name, who shall sacrifice upon thee the priests of the high-places, who are making a perfume upon thee, and, human bones, shall be burned upon thee;
২তিনি সদাপ্রভুর কথামত বেদির বিরুদ্ধে ঘোষণা করলেন, “ওহে বেদী, ওহে বেদী, সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলছেন, ‘দায়ূদের বংশে যোশিয় নামে একটি ছেলের জন্ম হবে। উঁচু স্থানগুলোর যে যাজকেরা এখন তোমার উপর ধূপ জ্বালিয়েছে সেই যাজকদের সে তোমার উপরেই উৎসর্গ করবে এবং মানুষের হাড়ও পোড়াবে।’”
3 and he shall give, on that day, a sign, saying, This, is the sign of which Yahweh hath spoken, —Lo! the altar, is to be rent, and the ashes that are upon thee shall be, poured out!
৩ঐ একই দিনের ঈশ্বরের লোকটি একটা চিহ্নের কথা বললেন। তিনি বললেন, “সদাপ্রভু এই চিহ্নের কথা ঘোষণা করেছেন যে, এই বেদীটা ফেটে যাবে এবং তার উপরকার ছাই সব পড়ে যাবে।”
4 And it came to pass, when the king heard the word of the man of God which he proclaimed against the altar in Bethel, Jeroboam thrust forth his hand, from off the altar, saying—Lay hold of him! and his hand which he had thrust forth against him was dried up, that he could not draw it back to him.
৪বৈথেলে বেদির বিরুদ্ধে ঈশ্বরের লোকটী কথা শুনে রাজা যারবিয়াম বেদির উপর থেকে হাত বাড়িয়ে বললেন, “ওকে ধর।” কিন্তু যে হাতটি তিনি লোকটী দিকে বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছিলেন, সেটা শুকিয়ে গেল। তিনি আর সেটা কাছে টেনে নিতে পারলেন না।
5 Moreover, the altar, was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, —according to the sign which the man of God had given, by the word of Yahweh.
৫তাছাড়া বেদীটা ফেটে গেল এবং তার ছাই ছড়িয়ে পড়ল, যেমন সদাপ্রভু ঈশ্বরের লোকটী মাধ্যমে চিহ্নের বিষয়ে বর্ণনা করেছিলেন।
6 Then responded the king and said unto the man of God—Appease, I pray thee, the face of Yahweh thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored unto me. So the man of God appeased the face of Yahweh, and the hand of the king was restored unto him, and became as aforetime.
৬তখন রাজা ঈশ্বরের লোকটিকে বললেন, “আপনি আপনার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুকে অনুরোধ করুন এবং আমার জন্য প্রার্থনা করুন যাতে আমার হাত আবার ভাল হয়ে যায়।” তাতে ঈশ্বরের লোকটি সদাপ্রভুকে অনুরোধ করলেন আর রাজার হাতটা আবার ভাল হয়ে আগের মত হয়ে গেল।
7 Then spake the king unto the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh thyself, —and let me give thee a present.
৭রাজা ঈশ্বরের লোকটিকে বললেন, “আপনি আমার বাড়িতে এসে আরাম করুন আর আমি আপনাকে একটা উপহার দেব।”
8 But the man of God said unto the king—If thou wouldst give me the half of thy house, I would not go in with thee, —neither would I eat bread or drink water, in this place;
৮কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের লোকটি উত্তরে রাজাকে বললেন, “আপনার সম্পত্তির অর্ধেকটা দিলেও আমি আপনার সঙ্গে যাব না কিম্বা কোনো খাবার বা জলও এখানে খাব না।
9 for, so, he charged me, by the word of Yahweh, saying, Thou shalt not eat bread, nor shalt thou drink water, —neither shalt thou come back by the way thou wentest.
৯এর কারণ হল, সদাপ্রভুর কথামত আমি এই আদেশ পেয়েছি যে, তুমি কোনো খাবার খেয় না বা জল পান কর না এবং যে পথ দিয়ে যাবে, সেই পথ দিয়ে এস না।”
10 So he departed another way, —and went not back by the way by which he came unto Bethel.
১০কাজেই তিনি যে পথে বৈথেলে এসেছিলেন সেই পথে ফিরে না গিয়ে অন্য পথ ধরলেন।
11 But, a certain aged prophet, was dwelling in Bethel, —whose sons came in and related to him all the deeds which the man of God had done that day in Bethel—and the words which he had spoken unto the king, and they related them to their father.
১১বৈথেলে একজন বয়ষ্ক ভাববাদী বাস করতেন। ঈশ্বরের লোকটি সেই দিন সেখানে যা করেছিলেন তাঁর ছেলেরা গিয়ে তাঁকে তা সবই জানাল। রাজাকে তিনি যা বলেছিলেন তাও তারা তাদের বাবাকে বলল।
12 And their father said unto them, Which way then went he? Now his sons had seen the way which the man of God went who had come in out of Judah.
১২তাদের বাবা তাদের জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “তিনি কোন পথে গেছেন?” যিহূদার সেই ঈশ্বরের লোকটি যে পথ ধরে চলে গিয়েছিলেন তাঁর ছেলেরা তা তার পথ তার পিতা কে দেখিয়েছিল।
13 So he said unto his sons, Saddle for me, the ass. And they saddled for him the ass, and he rode thereon;
১৩তখন তিনি তাঁর ছেলেদের বললেন, “আমার জন্য গাধার উপরে গদি চাপাও।” তারা তা করলে পর তিনি তাতে চড়লেন।
14 and went after the man of God, and found him, sitting under an oak. And he said unto him—Art, thou, the man of God who came in out of Judah? And he said—I am.
১৪তারপর তিনি ঈশ্বরের লোকটী খোঁজে গেলেন। তিনি তাঁকে একটা এলোন গাছের তলায় বসে থাকতে দেখে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “আপনিই কি ঈশ্বরের সেই লোক যিনি যিহূদা দেশ থেকে এসেছেন?” উত্তরে তিনি বললেন, “হ্যাঁ, আমিই সেই লোক।”
15 Then said he unto him, Come home with me, —and eat bread.
১৫তখন ভাববাদী তাঁকে বললেন, “আমার সঙ্গে বাড়ি চলুন, খাওয়া দাওয়া করুন।”
16 And he said—I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee, —neither will I eat bread or drink water with thee, in this place;
১৬ঈশ্বরের লোকটি বললেন, “আমি আপনার সঙ্গে ফিরে যেতে পারি না কিম্বা আপনার সঙ্গে এই জায়গায় খাবার বা জল খেতেও পারি না।
17 for there came a message unto me by the word of Yahweh, Thou shalt neither eat bread, nor drink water there, —thou shalt not turn back to come by the way by which thou wentest.
১৭কারণ ঈশ্বর আমাকে আদেশ দিয়ে বলেছেন যে, তুমি যেন সেখানে খাবার খেও না বা জল পান করো না কিম্বা যে পথে এসেছ সেই পথে ফিরে যেও না।”
18 And he said to him-I also, am a prophet, like unto thee, and, a messenger, hath spoken unto me, by the word of Yahweh, saying—Bring him back with thee, into thy house, that he may eat bread, and drink water. He deceived him.
১৮উত্তরে সেই ভাববাদী বললেন, “আমি আপনার মতই একজন ভাববাদী। সদাপ্রভুর কথামত একজন স্বর্গদূত আমাকে বলেছেন যেন আমি আপনাকে আমার বাড়িতে ফিরিয়ে নিয়ে যাই যাতে আপনি খাবার ও জল খেতে পারেন।” কিন্তু তিনি তাঁকে মিথ্যা কথা বললেন।
19 So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house, and drank water.
১৯ঈশ্বরের লোকটি তখন তাঁর সঙ্গে ফিরে গেলেন এবং তাঁর বাড়িতে খাওয়া দাওয়া করলেন।
20 And so it was, as, they, were sitting at the table, yea, so it was, that the word of Yahweh came unto the prophet who had brought him back;
২০তাঁরা তখনও টেবিলের কাছে বসে আছেন, এমন দিন যিনি ঈশ্বরের লোকটিকে ফিরিয়ে এনেছিলেন সেই ভাববাদীর কাছে সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য প্রকাশিত হল।
21 and he cried out unto the man of God who had come in out of Judah, saying, Thus, saith Yahweh, —Forasmuch as thou hast rebelled against the bidding of Yahweh, and hast not kept the commandment which Yahweh thy God commanded thee;
২১যিহূদা থেকে আসা ঈশ্বরের লোকটিকে সেই ভাববাদী চিৎকার করে বললেন, “সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলছেন যে, আপনি সদাপ্রভুর কথা অমান্য করেছেন এবং আপনাকে দেওয়া আপনার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর আদেশ আপনি পালন করেন নি।
22 but hast returned, and eaten bread and drunk water, in the place of which he said unto thee, Thou mayest neither eat bread nor drink water: thy dead body shall not enter the burying-place of thy fathers.
২২যে জায়গায় তিনি আপনাকে খাওয়া দাওয়া করতে নিষেধ করেছিলেন আপনি সেখানে ফিরে গিয়ে খাবার ও জল খেয়েছেন। কাজেই আপনার পূর্বপুরুষদের কবরে আপনার দেহ রাখা হবে না।”
23 And it came to pass, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunk, that he saddled for him the ass, for the prophet whom he had brought back.
২৩ঈশ্বরের লোকটি খাওয়া দাওয়া শেষ করলে পর তাঁর জন্য সেই ভাববাদী তাঁর একটা গাধার উপর গদি চাপালেন।
24 And, when he had gone, there met him a lion by the way, and slew him, —and his dead body was cast out in the way, and, the ass, was standing near it, and, the lion, was standing near the dead body.
২৪ঈশ্বরের লোকটি রওনা হলে পর পথে একটা সিংহ তাঁকে রাস্তার উপরে পেয়ে মেরে ফেলল। তাঁর দেহটা রাস্তার উপরে পড়ে থাকল আর সেই দেহের পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকল সেই গাধা আর সিংহ।
25 And lo! certain men, passing by, saw the dead body, cast out in the way, and the lion standing near the dead body, —so they came in, and spake [of it] in the city, wherein, the aged prophet, dwelt.
২৫কিছু লোক সেই পথ দিয়ে যাবার দিন দেখল একটি মৃতদেহ পড়ে আছে এবং দেখল তার পাশে একটা সিংহ দাঁড়িয়ে রয়েছে। তারা গিয়ে সেই বয়ষ্ক ভাববাদীর গ্রামে খবর দিল।
26 And, when the prophet who had brought him back from the way heard of it, he said—The man of God, it is, who rebelled against the bidding of Yahweh, —therefore did Yahweh deliver him unto the lion, and it hath torn him and slain him, according to the word of Yahweh which he spake unto him.
২৬সেই কথা শুনে যে ভাববাদী তাঁকে তাঁর পথ থেকে ফিরিয়ে এনেছিলেন তিনি বললেন, “তিনি ঈশ্বরের সেই লোক যিনি সদাপ্রভুর আদেশ অমান্য করেছিলেন। সদাপ্রভু তাঁকে যে কথা বলেছিলেন সেই অনুসারেই তিনি তাঁকে সিংহের হাতে তুলে দিয়েছেন এবং সিংহ তাঁকে ছিঁড়ে মেরে ফেলেছে।”
27 And he spake unto his sons, saying, Saddle for me the ass. And they saddled it.
২৭তারপর সেই ভাববাদী তাঁর ছেলেদের বললেন, “আমার জন্য গাধার উপর গদি চাপাও।” ছেলেরা তাই করল।
28 So he went and found his dead body, cast out in the way, with, the ass and the lion, standing near the dead body, —the lion had neither eaten the dead body, nor had it torn the ass.
২৮তারপর তিনি গিয়ে দেখলেন রাস্তার উপরে মৃতদেহটা পড়ে রয়েছে আর তার পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে রয়েছে গাধা আর সিংহটা। সিংহটা সেই মৃতদেহ খায়নি আর গাধাটাকেও আঘাত করে নি।
29 And the prophet took up the dead body of the man of God, and laid it upon the ass, and brought it back, —and the aged prophet came into the city, to make lamentation, and to bury him.
২৯ঈশ্বরের লোকটিকে কবর দিতে ও তাঁর জন্য শোক প্রকাশ করতে সেই ভাববাদী তাঁর দেহটা তুলে নিয়ে গাধার উপর চাপিয়ে নিজের গ্রামে ফিরে গেলেন।
30 And he laid his dead body in his own grave, —and they lamented over him, [saying] —Alas, my brother!
৩০তিনি নিজের জন্য তৈরী করা কবরেই তাঁকে কবর দিলেন। তিনি ও তাঁর ছেলেরা এই বলে তাঁর জন্য শোক করতে লাগলেন, “হায়, ভাই আমার!”
31 And it came to pass, after he had buried him, that he spake unto his sons, saying, When I die, then shall ye bury me in the grave wherein the man of God is buried; beside his bones, lay my bones;
৩১তাঁকে কবর দেবার পর সেই ভাববাদী তাঁর ছেলেদের বললেন, “ঈশ্বরের লোকটিকে যেখানে কবর দেওয়া হয়েছে আমি মারা গেলে পর আমাকে সেই কবরেই কবর দিয়ো, আমার হাড় তাঁর হাড়ের পাশেই রেখো;
32 For the message which he proclaimed, by the ward of Yahweh, against the altar which is in Bethel, —and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, shall surely come to pass.
৩২কারণ বৈথেলের বেদী ও শমরিয়ার সব গ্রামের উঁচু স্থানগুলোর মন্দিরের বিরুদ্ধে সদাপ্রভুর কথামত তিনি যে বিষয় ঘোষণা করেছেন তা নিশ্চয়ই সফল হবে।”
33 After this thing, Jeroboam turned not from his wicked way, —but again made, from the whole compass of the people, priests of high places, whomsoever he would, he installed, and he became priest of high places.
৩৩এর পরেও যারবিয়াম তাঁর কুপথ থেকে ফিরলেন না বরং উঁচু স্থানগুলোর জন্য সব লোকদের মধ্য থেকে যাজক নিযুক্ত করলেন। যে কেউ যাজক হতে চাইত তাকেই তিনি উঁচু স্থানের যাজক হিসাবে নিযুক্ত করতেন।
34 And so this thing became the sin of the house of Jeroboam, —that it should be both taken away and destroyed, from off the face of the ground.
৩৪এই সব কাজ যারবিয়ামের বংশের পক্ষে পাপ হয়ে দাঁড়াল যেন তারা ধ্বংস হয় ও পৃথিবী থেকে মুছে যায়।
