< 1 John 5 >
1 Whosoever believeth that, Jesus, is the Christ, of God, hath been born: and, whosoever loveth him that begat, loveth him that hath been begotten of him.
Ko nga tangata katoa e whakapono ana ko Ihu te Karaiti, kua whanau i te Atua: ko nga tangata katoa ano hoki e aroha ana ki te papa, e aroha ana ano ki tana whanau.
2 Hereby, perceive we, that we love the children of God, as soon as, God, we love, and, his commandments, we are doing.
3 For, this is the love of God—that, his commandments, we be keeping, and, his commandments, are not burdensome;
4 Because, whatsoever hath been born of God, overcometh the world; and, this, is the victory that hath overcome the world—our faith.
Ko nga mea katoa hoki kua whanau i te Atua e kaha ana i te ao: ko te wikitoria hoki tenei e taea ai te ao, ko to tatou whakapono.
5 [And] who is he that overcometh the world, save he that believeth that, Jesus, is the Son of God?
Ko wai i kaha i te ao? ehara ianei i te tangata e whakapono ana ko Ihu te Tama a te Atua?
6 This, is he that came through means of water and blood, Jesus Christ: not, by the water, only, but, by the water and by the blood, —and, the Spirit, it is, that is bearing witness, because, the Spirit, is the truth.
Ko ia tenei i haere mai nei i runga i te wai, i te toto, ko Ihu Karaiti; ehara i te mea i runga i te wai anake, engari i runga i te wai, i te toto. Ko te Wairua hoki te kaiwhakaatu, he pono hoki te Wairua.
7 Because, three, are they who are bearing witness—
Tokotoru hoki nga kaiwhakaatu i te rangi, ko te Matua, ko te Kupu, ko te Wairua Tapu: kotahi ano enei tokotoru.
8 The Spirit, and the Water, and the Blood; and, the three, are, [witnesses], unto one thing.
Tokotoru hoki nga kaiwhakaatu, i te whenua, ko te Wairua, ko te wai, ko te toto: kotahi ano to ratou tokotoru.
9 If, the witness of men, we receive, the witness of God, is, greater. Because, this, is the witness of God—in that he hath borne witness concerning his Son, —
10 He that believeth on the Son of God, hath the witness, within himself: He that doth not believe God, false, hath made him, —because he hath not believed on the witness which, God, hath witnessed, concerning his Son—
11 And, this, is the witness: —that, life age-abiding, hath God given unto us, and, this life, is, in his Son: (aiōnios )
12 He that hath the Son, hath, the life, —he that hath not the Son of God, hath not, the life.
Ko te tangata kei a ia te Tama, kei a ia ano te ora; ko te tangata kahore nei i a ia te Tama a te Atua, kahore i a ia te ora.
13 These things, have I written unto you—in order that ye may know that ye have, Life Age-abiding—unto you who believe on the name of the Son of God.
14 And, this, is the boldness which we have towards him: that, if, anything, we ask, according to his will, He doth hearken unto us.
Ko to tatou maia ano tenei ki a ia, na ki te inoia e tatou tetahi mea i a ia, tana i pai ai, ka whakarongo mai ia ki a tatou:
15 And, if we know that he doth hearken unto us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the things asked, which we have asked of him,
Ki te mea hoki ka matau tatou e whakarongo ana ia ki ta tatou e inoi ai, ka matau tatou kei a tatou nga mea i inoia e tatou i a ia.
16 If one should see his brother committing a sin, not unto death, he shall ask, and He will grant unto him life, —for them who are sinning, not unto death. There, is, a sin, unto death: not concerning that, am I saying, that he should make request.
Ki te mea ka kite tetahi i tona teina e hara ana, haunga te hara e mate ai ia, me inoi ia, a e homai he ora ki a ia mo te hunga ehara nei to ratou i te hara e mate ai. Tera ano te hara e mate ai: e kore ahau e mea kia inoi ia mo tera.
17 All unrighteousness, is, sin, and there, is, a sin, not unto death.
He hara nga he katoa: tenei ano tetahi hara ehara nei i te mea e mate ai.
18 We know that, whosoever hath been born of God, is not committing sin, —Nay, he that hath been born of God, He keepeth him, and, the wicked one, doth not touch him.
19 We know that, of God, are we; and, the whole world, in the wicked one, is lying.
E matau ana tatou no te Atua tatou, kei te takoto hoki te ao katoa i roto i te wairua kino.
20 We know, moreover, that, the Son of God, hath come, and hath given us insight, so that we are getting to understand, him that is Real, —and we are in him that is Real, in his Son Jesus Christ. This, is the Real God, and life age-abiding. (aiōnios )
Na e matau ana ano tatou kua tae mai te Tama a te Atua, kua homai e ia ki a tatou he matauranga, kia mohio ai tatou ki a ia, ki te mea pono; kei roto ano hoki tatou i a ia, i te mea pono, ara i tana Tama, i a Ihu Karaiti. Ko te Atua pono tenei, ko te ora tonu. (aiōnios )
21 Dear children! Guard yourselves from idols.
E aku tamariki nonohi, kia tupato koutou ki nga whakapakoko. Amine.
