1 John 2
1 My dear children! these things, am I writing unto you, in order that ye may not be committing sin. And, if anyone should commit sin, an Advocate, have we, with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous;
Τεκνία μου, ταύτα σας γράφω διά να μη αμαρτήσητε. Και εάν τις αμαρτήση, έχομεν παράκλητον προς τον Πατέρα, τον Ιησούν Χριστόν τον δίκαιον·
2 And, he, is, a propitiation, concerning our sins, —and, not concerning our own only, but, also concerning those of the whole world.
και αυτός είναι ιλασμός περί των αμαρτιών ημών, και ουχί μόνον περί των ημετέρων, αλλά και περί όλου του κόσμου.
3 And, hereby, perceive we, that we understand him, —if, his commandments, we are keeping.
Και εν τούτω γνωρίζομεν ότι εγνωρίσαμεν αυτόν, εάν τας εντολάς αυτού φυλάττωμεν.
4 He that saith—I understand him! And, his commandments, is not keeping, is false, and, in him, the truth is not!
Όστις λέγει, Εγνώρισα αυτόν, και τας εντολάς αυτού δεν φυλάττει, ψεύστης είναι, και εν τούτω η αλήθεια δεν υπάρχει·
5 But whosoever may be keeping his word, of a truth, in this man, the love of God hath been made perfect. Hereby, perceive we, that, in him, we are.
όστις όμως φυλάττη τον λόγον αυτού, αληθώς εν τούτω η αγάπη του Θεού είναι τετελειωμένη. Εν τούτω γνωρίζομεν ότι είμεθα εν αυτώ.
6 He that saith, that, in him, he abideth, ought, just as He walked, himself also, to be walking.
Όστις λέγει ότι μένει εν αυτώ χρεωστεί, καθώς εκείνος περιεπάτησε, και αυτός ούτω να περιπατή.
7 Beloved! no new commandment, am I writing unto you; but an old commandment, which ye have been holding from the beginning: The old commandment is the word which ye have heard.
Αδελφοί, δεν σας γράφω εντολήν νέαν, αλλ' εντολήν παλαιάν, την οποίαν είχετε απ' αρχής· η εντολή η παλαιά είναι ο λόγος, τον οποίον ηκούσατε απ' αρχής.
8 Again, a new commandment, am I writing unto you, —which thing is true, in him and in you, because, the darkness, is passing away, and, the real light, already is shining.
Πάλιν εντολήν νέαν σας γράφω, το οποίον είναι αληθές εις αυτόν και εις εσάς, διότι το σκότος παρέρχεται και το φως το αληθινόν ήδη φέγγει.
9 He that saith he is, in the light, and hateth, his brother, is, in the darkness, until even now!
Όστις λέγει ότι είναι εν τω φωτί και μισεί τον αδελφόν αυτού, εν τω σκότει είναι έως τώρα.
10 He that loveth his brother, is abiding, in the light, and, cause of stumbling, in him, is there none.
Όστις αγαπά τον αδελφόν αυτού εν τω φωτί μένει, και σκάνδαλον εν αυτώ δεν είναι·
11 Whereas, he that hateth his brother, in the darkness, dwelleth, and in the darkness, walketh; and knoweth not whither he is drifting, because the, darkness, hath blinded his eyes.
όστις όμως μισεί τον αδελφόν αυτού εν τω σκότει είναι και εν τω σκότει περιπατεί και δεν εξεύρει που υπάγει, διότι το σκότος ετύφλωσε τους οφθαλμούς αυτού.
12 I write unto you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven you, for the sake of his name:
Γράφω προς εσάς, τεκνία, διότι συνεχωρήθησαν αι αμαρτίαι σας διά το όνομα αυτού.
13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye understand him who was from the beginning: I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I have written unto you, little children, because ye understand the Father:
Γράφω προς εσάς, πατέρες, διότι εγνωρίσατε τον απ' αρχής. Γράφω προς εσάς, νεανίσκοι, διότι ενικήσατε τον πονηρόν. Γράφω προς εσάς, παιδία, διότι εγνωρίσατε τον Πατέρα.
14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye understand him who was from the beginning: I have written you, young men, because ye are, strong, and the word of God, within you, abideth, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
Έγραψα προς εσάς, πατέρες, διότι εγνωρίσατε τον απ' αρχής. Έγραψα προς εσάς, νεανίσκοι, διότι είσθε ισχυροί και ο λόγος του Θεού μένει εν υμίν και ενικήσατε τον πονηρόν.
15 Be not loving the world, nor yet the things that are in the world: if anyone be loving the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Μη αγαπάτε τον κόσμον μηδέ τα εν τω κόσμω. Εάν τις αγαπά τον κόσμον, η αγάπη του Πατρός δεν είναι εν αυτώ·
16 Because, all that is in the world—the coveting of the flesh, the coveting of the eyes, and the vain grandeur of life—is not of the Father, but is, of the world;
διότι παν το εν τω κόσμω, η επιθυμία της σαρκός και η επιθυμία των οφθαλμών και η αλαζονεία του βίου δεν είναι εκ του Πατρός, αλλ' είναι εκ του κόσμου.
17 And, the world, passeth away, and the coveting [thereof], but, he that doeth the will of God, endureth unto times age-abiding. (aiōn g165)
Και ο κόσμος παρέρχεται και η επιθυμία αυτού· όστις όμως πράττει το θέλημα του Θεού μένει εις τον αιώνα. (aiōn g165)
18 Little children! it is, the last hour; and, just as ye have heard that, an antichrist, is coming, even now, antichrists have become, many, whence we perceive that it is, the last hour:
Παιδία, εσχάτη ώρα είναι, και καθώς ηκούσατε ότι ο αντίχριστος έρχεται, και τώρα πολλοί αντίχριστοι υπάρχουσιν· όθεν γνωρίζομεν ότι είναι εσχάτη ώρα.
19 From among us, they went out, but they were not of us; for, if, of us, they had been, they would in that case have abode with us; but [it came to pass] in order that they might be made manifest, because, all, are not of us.
Εξ ημών εξήλθον, αλλά δεν ήσαν εξ ημών· διότι εάν ήσαν εξ ημών, ήθελον μένει μεθ' υμών· αλλά εξήλθον διά να φανερωθώσιν ότι δεν είναι πάντες εξ ημών.
20 And, ye, have, an anointing, from the Holy One, —Ye all, know:
Και σεις έχετε χρίσμα από του Αγίου και γνωρίζετε πάντα.
21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and because, no falsehood, is, of the truth.
Δεν σας έγραψα διότι δεν εξεύρετε την αλήθειαν, αλλά διότι εξεύρετε αυτήν, και διότι παν ψεύδος εκ της αληθείας δεν είναι.
22 Who, is the False One; —save he that denieth that, Jesus, is the Christ? The same, is the Antichrist, —he that denieth the Father and the Son.
Τις είναι ο ψεύστης, ειμή ο αρνούμενος ότι ο Ιησούς δεν είναι ο Χριστός; ούτος είναι ο αντίχριστος, ο αρνούμενος τον Πατέρα και τον Υιόν.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, neither hath he, the Father: He that confesseth the Son, hath, the Father also.
Πας ο αρνούμενος τον Υιόν δεν έχει ουδέ τον Πατέρα. Όστις ομολογεί τον Υιόν έχει και τον Πατέρα.
24 As for you, what ye have heard from the beginning, in you, let it abide. If, in you, shall abide, that which, from the beginning, ye have heard, ye also, in the Son, and [in] the Father, shall abide.
Εκείνο λοιπόν το οποίον υμείς ηκούσατε απ' αρχής, ας μένη εν υμίν. Εάν μένη εν υμίν εκείνο το οποίον ηκούσατε απ' αρχής, και υμείς θέλετε μένει εν τω Υιώ και εν τω Πατρί.
Και αύτη είναι η υπόσχεσις, την οποίαν αυτός υπεσχέθη προς ημάς, η ζωή η αιώνιος. (aiōnios g166)
26 These things, have I written unto you, concerning them who would lead you astray.
Ταύτα σας έγραψα περί εκείνων, οίτινες σας πλανώσι.
27 And, as for you, the anointing which ye have received from him, abideth in you, and ye have, no need, that anyone be teaching you; but, as, his anointing, is teaching you, and is, true, and is no falsehood, even just as it hath taught you, abide ye in him.
Και το χρίσμα, το οποίον υμείς ελάβετε απ' αυτού, εν υμίν μένει, και δεν έχετε χρείαν να σας διδάσκη τις· αλλά καθώς σας διδάσκει το αυτό χρίσμα περί πάντων, ούτω και αληθές είναι και δεν είναι ψεύδος· και καθώς σας εδίδαξε, θέλετε μένει εν αυτώ.
28 And, now, dear children, abide ye in him, in order that, if he be made manifest, we may have boldness, and not be shamed away from him by his presence.
Και τώρα, τεκνία, μένετε εν αυτώ, ίνα όταν φανερωθή, έχωμεν παρρησίαν και μη αισχυνθώμεν απ' αυτού εν τη παρουσία αυτού.
29 If ye know that he is, righteous, ye perceive that—whosoever doeth righteousness, of him, hath been born.
Εάν εξεύρητε ότι είναι δίκαιος, γνωρίζετε ότι πας ο πράττων την δικαιοσύνην εξ αυτού εγεννήθη.
