< 1 Corinthians 9 >

1 Am not free? Am I not an apostle? Jesus our Lord, have I not seen? Are not, ye, my work, in the Lord?
Githĩ niĩ ndirĩ na wĩyathi? Githĩ niĩ ndirĩ mũtũmwo? Githĩ niĩ ndionire Jesũ Mwathani witũ? Anga inyuĩ mũtirĩ maciaro ma wĩra wakwa thĩinĩ wa Mwathani?
2 If, unto others, I am not an apostle, certainly at least, unto you, I am; for, the seal of my apostleship, ye, are in the Lord.
O na angĩkorwo andũ arĩa angĩ mationaga ta ndĩ mũtũmwo-rĩ, ti-itherũ niĩ harĩ inyuĩ ndĩ mũtũmwo! Nĩgũkorwo nĩ inyuĩ kĩmenyithia kĩa ũtũmwo wakwa thĩinĩ wa Mwathani.
3 My defence, unto them who are examining me, is this:
Gwĩtetera gwakwa harĩ arĩa manjiirithagia nĩ gũkũ:
4 Have we not a right to eat and drink?
Githĩ ithuĩ tũtirĩ na kĩhooto gĩa kũrĩa na kũnyua?
5 Have we not a right to take round, a sister wife, —as even the rest of the apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
Githĩ ithuĩ tũtirĩ na kĩhooto kĩa mũndũ gũtwarana rũgendo-inĩ na mũtumia wake mwĩtĩkia, o ta ũrĩa atũmwo arĩa angĩ, na ariũ a nyina na Mwathani, o na Kefa mekaga?
6 Or have, only I and Barnabas, not a right to forbear working?
Kana no niĩ tũrĩ na Baranaba arĩ o nginya tũrutage wĩra nĩguo tuone ũteithio witũ?
7 Who serveth as a soldier, at his own charges, at any time? Who planteth a vineyard, —and, the fruit thereof, doth not eat? [Or] who shepherdeth a flock, —and, of the milk of the flock, doth not eat?
8 Is it, after the manner of men, that these things I am saying? Or doth not, even the law, the same things, say?
Ndĩraaria ũhoro ũyũ ndĩ na meciiria ma ũ-mũndũ tu? Githĩ Watho o naguo nduugĩte o ũguo?
9 For, in the law of Moses, it is written—Thou shalt not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the corn: —Is it, for the oxen, God is caring?
Nĩgũkorwo nĩ kwandĩkĩtwo watho-inĩ wa Musa atĩrĩ, “Ndũkanohe ndegwa kanua hĩndĩ ĩrĩa ĩkũranga ngano ĩkĩmĩhũũra.” Ngai akiuga ũguo-rĩ, nĩ ndegwa aracaaĩra?
10 Or, for our sakes altogether, is he saying it? For our sakes, it was written; because, he that ploweth, ought, to plow, in hope, —and, he that thresheth, [to thresh] in hope of partaking.
Ti-itherũ oigaga ũguo nĩ ũndũ witũ, githĩ tiguo? Ĩĩ-ni, ũndũ ũyũ waandĩkirũo nĩ ũndũ witũ, tondũ rĩrĩa mũrĩmi ekũrĩma, nake mũhũũri ngano amĩhũũrage-rĩ, nĩ kwagĩrĩire mekage ũguo marĩ na kĩĩrĩgĩrĩro atĩ nĩmakagayana magetha.
11 If, we, unto you, the things of the Spirit have sown, is it a great matter, if, we, of you, the things of the flesh shall reap?
Tũngĩkorwo ithuĩ nĩtũhaandĩte mbeũ ya kĩĩroho thĩinĩ wanyu-rĩ, kaĩ akĩrĩ ũndũ mũnene ithuĩ tũngĩgetha indo cia gũtũũria mwĩrĩ kuuma kũrĩ inyuĩ?
12 If, others, of this right, over you, are partaking, [should] not rather, we? nevertheless, we used not this right; but, all [such] things, do we conceal, —lest we should cause any hindrance unto the glad message of the Christ.
Angĩkorwo andũ angĩ marĩ na kĩhooto gĩa gũteithio nĩ inyuĩ-rĩ, ithuĩ githĩ tũtikĩagĩrĩirwo nĩgũteithio makĩria? No ithuĩ tũtiahũthĩrire kĩhooto kĩu. Handũ ha ũguo-rĩ, nĩ gũkirĩrĩria tũkiragĩrĩria ũndũ o wothe nĩguo tũtikae kũhĩngĩca Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega wa Kristũ.
13 Know ye not that, they who labour in the holy rites, do eat the provisions out of the holy place? They who at the altar wait, do, with the altar, share?
Kaĩ inyuĩ mũtooĩ atĩ andũ arĩa marutaga wĩra thĩinĩ wa hekarũ marutaga irio ciao kuuma kũu hekarũ, nao arĩa matungataga kĩgongona-inĩ magayanaga kĩrĩa kĩrutĩtwo kĩgongona-inĩ?
14 Thus, also, hath the Lord, appointed—that, they who the glad message tell, should, of the glad-message, live.
O ta ũguo-rĩ, Mwathani nĩathanĩte atĩ arĩa mahunjagia Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega nĩmagĩrĩirwo kuonaga gĩa kũmatũũria kuuma kũrĩ Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega.
15 I, however, have not used any of these things; and have not written these things, in order that, so it should be done, in my case; for it were, good for me, rather to die than——my boast, shall, no man, make void!
No niĩ ndirĩ ndaahũthĩra kĩhooto o na kĩmwe gĩa cio. Ningĩ ndiraandĩka ũhoro ũyũ ndĩ na kĩĩrĩgĩrĩro atĩ nĩmũkũnjĩka maũndũ ta macio. Nĩ kaba ngue gũkĩra mũndũ o naũ agirie ndĩĩrahĩre ũndũ ũcio.
16 For, if I be telling the glad-message, it is, with me, no matter of boasting; for, necessity, upon me, lieth, —for it is, Woe to me, if I should not be telling the glad-message;
No rĩrĩ, ndingĩhota kwĩraha rĩrĩa ngũhunjia Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega, nĩgũkorwo nĩhatagĩrĩrio mũno ndĩũhunjie. Na niĩ ingĩaga kũhunjia Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega kaĩ ndagĩa na haaro-ĩ!
17 For, if, by choice, this thing I am doing, I have, a reward; but, if not by choice, with a stewardship, have I been entrusted!
Ingĩhunjia nĩ ũndũ wa kwĩyendera-rĩ, ndaheo mũcaara; no angĩkorwo ti na ũndũ wa kwĩyendera-rĩ, niĩ no kũhingia ndĩrahingia ũndũ ũrĩa ndĩhokeirwo.
18 What, then, is my reward? that, in telling the glad-message, free of cost, I should put the glad-message, —to the end I should not use to the full my right in the glad-message.
Hakĩrĩ ũguo-rĩ, mũcaara wakwa ũkĩrĩ kĩ? Nĩ atĩrĩ: Atĩ harĩ ũhoro wa kũhunjia Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega-rĩ, hunjagie tũhũ itekũrĩhwo, na nĩ ũndũ ũcio njage gwĩtagia kĩhooto gĩakwa rĩrĩa ngũhunjia Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega.
19 For, though free from all, unto all, myself, I enslaved, —that, the larger number, I might win:
O na gũtuĩka ndĩ muohore na ndirĩ ngombo ya mũndũ-rĩ, niĩ ndĩĩtuaga ngombo ya o mũndũ wothe, nĩguo nguucĩrĩrie andũ aingĩ o ta ũrĩa kwahoteka.
20 Therefore became I, to the Jews, as, a Jew, —that, Jews, I might win; to them who were under law, as, under law, not being, myself, under law, —that, them who were under law, I might win;
Kũrĩ Ayahudi ndaatuĩkire ta Mũyahudi nĩguo nguucagĩrĩrie Ayahudi. Na kũrĩ arĩa marĩ rungu rwa watho-rĩ, ndaatuĩkire ta mũndũ ũrĩ rungu rwa watho, o na gũtuĩka niĩ mwene ndirĩ rungu rwa watho, nĩguo nguucagĩrĩrie arĩa marĩ rungu rwa watho.
21 To them who were without law, as, without law, —not being without law to God, but lawfully subject to Christ, —that I might win them who were without law.
Kũrĩ arĩa matarĩ watho-inĩ-rĩ, ndaatuĩkire ta mũndũ ũtarĩ watho-inĩ ũcio, o na gũtuĩka ndirĩ muohore kuuma kũrĩ watho wa Ngai, no ndĩ watho-inĩ wa Kristũ, nĩguo nguucagĩrĩrie arĩa matarĩ watho-inĩ ũcio.
22 I became, unto the weak, weak, —that, the weak, I might win; —to all men, have I become all things, that, by all means, some, I might save.
Kũrĩ arĩa matarĩ hinya-rĩ, ndaatuĩkire ta itarĩ hinya nĩguo nguucagĩrĩrie arĩa matarĩ hinya. Nduĩkĩte maũndũ mothe kũrĩ andũ othe nĩgeetha kũngĩhoteka na njĩra ciothe ngerie kũhonokia amwe ao.
23 But, all things, am I doing, for the sake of the glad-message, that a joint-partaker thereof, I may become.
Njĩkaga maũndũ maya mothe nĩ ũndũ wa Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega, nĩgeetha ngaagaĩrwo irathimo ciaguo.
24 Know ye not that, they who, in a racecourse, run, all, indeed, run, —but, one, receiveth the prize? So, be running, that ye may lay hold.
Kaĩ inyuĩ mũtooĩ atĩ andũ arĩa mahĩtahĩtanaga ihenya-inĩ mahanyũkaga othe, no rĩrĩ, no ũmwe wao ũheagwo kĩheo? Kĩhanyũkei na njĩra ĩrĩa ĩngĩtũma mũkaaheo kĩheo.
25 But, every man who striveth in the games, in all things, useth self-control; —they, indeed, then, that a corruptible crown, they may receive; but, we, an incorruptible!
Mũndũ o wothe ũrĩa ũhĩtahĩtanaga thĩinĩ wa mathako-rĩ, ehataga na akemenyeria maũndũ-inĩ mothe hatarĩ itherũ. Mekaga ũguo nĩguo maheo thũmbĩ ĩtarĩ ya gũtũũra; no ithuĩ twĩkaga ũguo nĩguo tũkaaheo thũmbĩ ya gũtũũra nginya tene.
26 I, therefore, so, am running, as, not uncertainly, so, am boxing, as not thrashing air;
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio-rĩ, niĩ ndihanyũkaga ta mũndũ ũtooĩ gĩtũmi gĩa kũhanyũka; na ndirũaga ta mũndũ ũgũikia ngundi ciake o ũguo tũhũ.
27 But am beating my body under, and leading it captive, lest, by any means, —unto others, having proclaimed, [the contest], I myself, should be rejected.
Aca, nĩ mwĩrĩ wakwa hũũraga ngaũtua ngombo yakwa, nĩgeetha ndaarĩkia kũhunjĩria andũ arĩa angĩ-rĩ, niĩ mwene ndikanatuĩke wa kũregwo nyimwo kĩheo.
