1 Corinthians 4
1 Let a man, so, be reckoning of us, as officers of Christ, and stewards of sacred secrets of God.
੧ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭੇਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਸਮਝਣ।
2 Here, furthermore, it is sought in stewards, that, faithful, one be found.
੨ਫੇਰ ਇੱਕ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਹੋਵੇ।
3 With me, however, it counteth for the very smallest thing, that, by you, I should be examined, or by a human day. Nay! I am not even examining myself,
੩ਪਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਛੋਟੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਅਥਵਾ ਇਨਸਾਨੀ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਸਗੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
4 For, of nothing, to myself, am I conscious: nevertheless, not hereby, am I declared righteous, but, he that doth examine me, is the Lord.
੪ਭਾਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਠਹਿਰਦਾ, ਪਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ।
5 So then, not before the fitting time, be judging anything, —until the Lord shall come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and, then, the praise shall come to each one, from God.
੫ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਚਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾ ਆਵੇ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਨਾ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਛਿਪੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੇ ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਦਲੀਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਹਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ।
6 But, these things, brethren, have I transferred unto myself and Apollos, for your sakes, that, in us, ye might learn [the lesson] —Not beyond the things that are written…! that ye do not puff yourselves up, individually, for this one against that.
੬ਹੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ, ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਮਿੱਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਪੁੱਲੋਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਮੂਨੇ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਲਾਈਆਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖੋ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਨਾ ਵਧੋ ਕਿਤੇ ਇਉਂ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਦਾ ਪੱਖ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਜਾਓ।
7 For who maketh thee to differ? and what hast thou which thou didst not receive? But, if thou didst even receive it, why dost thou boast, as though thou hadst not received it?
੭ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੂਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤਮ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ? ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ? ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਵੀ ਤਾਂ ਘਮੰਡ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ?
8 Already, ye have become full, already, ye are become rich, —apart from us, ye are become kings! And I would indeed ye had become kings, that, we also, with you, might have together become kings!
੮ਤੁਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਰੱਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਧਨੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਸ਼ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦੇ!
9 For I think that, God, hath set forth, us the apostles, to be last of all, as men devoted to death, —in that, a spectacle, have we been made, unto the world, —both unto messengers and unto men.
੯ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਤਲ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਂ।
10 We, are foolish for Christ’s sake, but, ye, prudent in Christ; we are weak, but, ye, mighty; ye, all-glorious, but, we, dishonoured.
੧੦ਅਸੀਂ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਸੀਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਹੋ। ਅਸੀਂ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਲਵੰਤ ਹੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਬੇਪਤ ਹਾਂ।
11 Until the present hour, we both hunger and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and are wanderers,
੧੧ਇਸ ਘੜੀ ਤੱਕ ਅਸੀਂ ਭੁੱਖੇ, ਤਿਹਾਏ, ਨੰਗੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਕੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੇ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
12 And toil, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless, being persecuted, we hold on,
੧੨ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ-ਧੰਦੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਗਾਲਾਂ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਬਰਕਤ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਤਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
13 Being defamed, we beseech: as the sweepings of the world have we become, the offscouring of all—until even now.
੧੩ਜਦ ਸਾਡੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਕੂੜੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੂੜਾ ਕਰਕਟ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਂ।
14 Not, to shame you, write I these things; but, as my beloved children, I admonish you.
੧੪ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਲੱਜਿਆਵਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਬਾਲਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮਝਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਲਿਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
15 For, though myriads of tutors ye should have in Christ, yet not many fathers; for, in Christ Jesus, through means of the joyful message, I, begat you.
੧੫ਭਾਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਮਸੀਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਸ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਉਸਤਾਦ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੋਣ ਪਰ ਪਿਉ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਮਸੀਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦੇ ਵਸੀਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਉ ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਹੋਇਆ।
16 I beseech you, therefore, —become imitators of me.
੧੬ਸੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੀਸ ਕਰੋ।
17 For this cause, sent I unto you, Timothy, —who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who shall put, you, in mind of my ways which are in Christ [Jesus], even as, everywhere, in every assembly, I teach.
੧੭ਇਸੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਤਿਮੋਥਿਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸਯੋਗ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਰਤਾਵਾ ਜੋ ਮਸੀਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਾਵੇਗਾ, ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਭਨੀਂ ਥਾਈਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
18 But, as though I were not coming unto you, some are puffed up!
੧੮ਕਈ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਫੁੱਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵਾਂਗਾ।
19 Howbeit, I will come quickly unto you, —if, the Lord, please, —and will get to know—not the speech of them who are puffed up, but, the power;
੧੯ਪਰ ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਾਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਛੇਤੀ ਆਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਫੁੱਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ।
20 For, not in speech, is the kingdom of God, but, in power.
੨੦ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
21 What will ye? that, with a rod, I should come unto you? or, with love, and a spirit of meekness?
੨੧ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਡਾਂਗ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਵਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਰਮਾਈ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ?
