1 Chronicles 9
1 And, all Israel, registered themselves, and lo! they are written, in the Book of the Kings of Israel, and, Judah, was carried away captive to Babylon, for their faithlessness.
Todo el pueblo de Israel quedó registrado en los registros de las genealogías del libro de los reyes de Israel. Pero el pueblo de Judá fue llevado al cautiverio en Babilonia porque había sido infiel.
2 Now, the first inhabitants, who were in their possessions, in their cities, were Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the Nethinim.
Los primeros en regresar y reclamar sus propiedades y vivir en sus ciudades fueron algunos israelitas, sacerdotes, levitas y servidores del Templo.
3 And, in Jerusalem, there dwelt, of the sons of Judah, and of the sons of Benjamin, —and of the sons of Ephraim, and Manasseh:
Algunos de los miembros de las tribus de Judá, Benjamín, Efraín y Manasés volvieron a vivir en Jerusalén. Entre ellos estaban:
4 Uthai son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, of the sons of Perez, son of Judah.
Utaí hijo de Ammihud, hijo de Omrí, hijo de Imrí, hijo de Baní, descendiente de Fares, hijo de Judá.
5 And, of the Shilonites, Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons.
De los silonitas: Asaías (el primogénito) y sus hijos.
6 And, of the sons of Zerah, Jeuel, —and their brethren, six hundred and ninety.
De los zeraítas: Jeuel y sus parientes, con un total de 690.
7 And, of the sons of Benjamin, Sallu, son of Meshullam, son of Hodaviah, son of Hassenuah;
De los benjamitas: Salú, hijo de Mesulam, hijo de Hodavías, hijo de Asenúa;
8 and Ibneiah, son of Jeroham, and Elah, son of Uzzi, son of Michri, —and Meshullam, son of Shephatiah, son of Reuel, son of Ibnijah;
Ibneías, hijo de Jeroham; Ela, hijo de Uzi, hijo de Micrí; y Mesulam, hijo de Sefatías, hijo de Reuel, hijo de Ibniás.
9 and their brethren, by their generations, nine hundred and fifty-six, —all these men, were ancestral chiefs, to their ancestral house.
Todos ellos eran jefes de familia, según consta en sus genealogías, y en total sumaban 956.
10 And, of the priests, Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, and Jachin, —

11 and Azariah son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub, chief ruler of the house of God;
Azarías hijo de Hilcías, hijo de Mesulam, hijo de Sadoc, hijo de Meraiot, hijo de Ajitub. (Azarías era el funcionario principal a cargo de la casa de Dios).
12 and Adaiah, son of Jeroham, son of Pashhur, son of Malchijah, —and Maasai son of Adiel, son of Jahzerah, son of Meshullam, son of Meshillemith, son of Immer;
También Adaías hijo de Jeroham, hijo de Pasur, hijo de Malquías, y Masai hijo de Adiel, hijo de Jazera, hijo de Mesulam, hijo de Mesilemit, hijo de Imer.
13 and their brethren, chief men of their ancestral house, a thousand and seven hundred and sixty, —able men, for the business of the service of the house of God.
Los sacerdotes, que eran jefes de familia, sumaban 1.760. Eran hombres fuertes y capaces que servían en la casa de Dios.
14 And, of the Levites, Shemaiah, son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;
De los levitas: Semaías, hijo de Jasub, hijo de Azricam, hijo de Hasabías, descendiente de Merari;
15 and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, —and Mattaniah, son of Mica, son of Zichri, son of Asaph;
Bacbacar, Heres, Galal y Matanías, hijo de Mica, hijo de Zicri, hijo de Asaf;
16 and Obadiah, son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun, —and Berechiah son of Asa, son of Elkanah, who dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.
Abdías, hijo de Semaías, hijo de Galal, hijo de Jedutún; y Berequías, hijo de Asa, hijo de Elcana, que vivían en las aldeas de los netofatitas.
17 And, the keepers of the gates, were Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, —and their brethren—Shallum the chief;
Los guardas de la puerta del Templo: Salum, Acub, Talmón, Ahimán y sus parientes. Salum era el jefe de los guardianes de la puerta del Templo.
18 and, hitherto, they were in the gate of the king, eastward, —the same, were the keepers of the gate, for the camps of the sons of Levi.
Ellos tenían la responsabilidad hasta ahora de cuidar la Puerta del Rey en el lado Este. Eran los guardianes de los campamentos de los levitas.
19 And, Shallum, son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah and his brethren of his ancestral house—the Korahites, were over the business of the service, watchers at the vestibule of the tent, —and, their fathers, had been over the camp of Yahweh, watchers at the entrance.
Salum era hijo de Coré, hijo de Ebiasaf, hijo de Coré. Él y sus parientes, los coreítas, eran responsables de vigilar las entradas del santuario de la misma manera que sus padres se habían encargado de vigilar la entrada de la casa de campaña del Señor.
20 And, Phinehas son of Eleazar, was, chief ruler, over them aforetime, Yahweh, being with him.
Anteriormente, Finees hijo de Eleazar, había sido el líder de los porteros. Y el Señor estaba con él.
21 Zechariah son of Meshelemiah, was door-keeper at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
Posteriormente, Zacarías hijo de Meselemías fue el portero de la entrada de la tienda de reunión.
22 All those who were chosen for door-keepers in the vestibule, were two hundred and twelve, —the same, in their villages, had registered themselves, the same, did David and Samuel the seer establish in their trust.
En total hubo 212 elegidos para ser porteros en las entradas. Registraron sus genealogías en sus ciudades de origen. David y el profeta Samuel habían seleccionado a sus antepasados por su fidelidad.
23 So, they and their sons, were over the gates of the house of Yahweh, of the house of the tent, by watches.

24 Towards the four winds, were the keepers of the gates, —eastward, westward, northward, and southward.

25 And, their brethren in their villages, had to come in, every seven days, from time to time, along with these.
Sus parientes en sus pueblos venían cada siete días a ciertas horas para ayudarlos.
26 For, in trust, were four mighty men of the keepers of the gates, the same, were Levites, —and they were over the chambers, and over the treasuries of the house of God.
Los cuatro porteros principales, que eran levitas, tenían la responsabilidad de cuidar las habitaciones y los tesoros de la casa de Dios.
27 And, round about the house of God, used they to lodge, —for, upon them, was the charge, and they were over the setting open, morning by morning.
Pasaban la noche alrededor de la casa de Dios porque tenían que vigilarla y tenían la llave para abrirla por la mañana.
28 And, some from among them, were over the utensils of the service, —for, by number, used they to bring them in, and, by number, used they to take them forth.
Algunos de los porteros eran responsables de los artículos que se utilizaban en los servicios de culto. Llevaban un inventario de lo que se traía y de lo que se sacaba.
29 And, some from among them, were appointed over the utensils, yea over all the vessels of the holy place, —and over the fine meal, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.
A otros se les asignaba la tarea de cuidar el mobiliario y el equipo utilizado en el santuario, así como la harina especial, el vino, el aceite de oliva, el incienso y las especias.
30 And, some from among the sons of the priests, were compounders of perfumes, with the spices.

31 And, Mattithiah, from among the Levites, —the same, was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite—was in trust over the making of the flat cakes.

32 And, some from among the Kohathites, of their brethren, were over the Bread that was set in Array, —to place it sabbath by sabbath.

33 These, also were the singers, ancestral chiefs of the Levites, in the chambers, free, —for, by day and by night, was there [a charge] upon them, in the business.
Los músicos, jefes de familias de levitas, vivían en las habitaciones del Templo y no debían realizar otras tareas porque estaban de servicio día y noche.
34 These, were the ancestral chiefs, of the Levites, by their generations, chief men, —these, dwelt in Jerusalem.
Todos ellos eran jefes de familias de levitas, líderes según sus genealogías, y vivían en Jerusalén.
35 And, in Gibeon, dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jeiel, —the name of whose wife, was Maacah:

36 and, his firstborn son, Abdon, —and Zur, and Kish, and Baal and Ner, and Nadab;

37 and Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloh.

38 And, Mikloth, begat Shimeam—and, they also, over against their brethren, did dwell in Jerusalem, along with their brethren.
Miclot fue el padre de Simeam. Ellos también vivían cerca de sus parientes en Jerusalén.
39 And, Ner, begat Kith, and, Kish, begat Saul, —and, Saul, begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal;
Ner fue el padre de Cis, Cis fue el padre de Saúl, y Saúl fue el padre de Jonatán, Malquisúa, Abinadab y Es-Baal.
40 and, the son of Jonathan, was Merib-baal, —and, Merib-baal, begat Micah;
El hijo de Jonathan: Merib-Baal, que fue el padre de Miqueas.
41 and, the sons of Micah, were Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea [and Ahaz];
Los hijos de Miqueas: Pitón, Melec, Tarea y Acaz.
42 and, Ahaz, begat Jarah, and, Jarah begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri, —and Zimri, begat Moza;
Acaz fue el padre de Jada, Jada fue el padre de Alemet, Azmavet y Zimri, y Zimri fue el padre de Mosa.
43 and, Moza, begat Binea, —and Raphaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son;
Mosa fue el padre de Bina; Refaías fue su hijo, Elasa su hijo, y Azel su hijo.
44 and, Azel, had six sons, and these are their names—Azrikam, [his firstborn], and Ishmael, and Sheariah and Obadiah, and Hanan, [and Asah]. These, were the sons of Azel.
Azel tuvo seis hijos. Sus nombres eran: Azricam, Bocru, Ismael, Searías, Obadías y Hanán. Estos fueron los hijos de Azel.
