1 Chronicles 5
1 And the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, for, he, was the firstborn, but because he defiled the couch of his father, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, —and he is not to be enrolled in the place of firstborn,

2 for, Judah, prevailed over his brethren, so that, even the prince, is from him, —although, the birthright, pertaineth to Joseph;
Na ingawa Yuda alikuwa na nguvu zaidi ya ndugu zake wote, na mtawala alitoka kwake, haki za mzaliwa wa kwanza zilikuwa za Yosefu.)
3 the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi.
Wana wa Reubeni mzaliwa wa kwanza wa Israeli walikuwa: Hanoki, Palu, Hesroni na Karmi.
4 The sons of Joel, Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son;
Wazao wa Yoeli walikuwa: Shemaya mwanawe, Gogu mwanawe; Shimei mwanawe,
5 Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son;
Mika mwanawe, Reaya mwanawe, Baali mwanawe,
6 Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive, —he, was a leader to the Reubenites;
na Beera mwanawe, ambaye Tiglath-Pileseri mfalme wa Ashuru alimchukua kwenda uhamishoni. Beera alikuwa kiongozi wa Wareubeni.
7 and his brethren, by his families, in the genealogical registering, by their generations, —the chief Jeiel, and Zechariah;
Jamaa zao kulingana na koo zao, walioorodheshwa kwa kufuata koo zao kama ifuatavyo: Yeieli aliyekuwa mkuu wao, Zekaria,
8 and Bela, the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, —he, dwelt in Aroer, even as far as Nebo, and Baal-meon;
Bela mwana wa Azazi, mwana wa Shema, mwana wa Yoeli. Hao waliishi katika eneo kuanzia Aroeri mpaka Nebo na Baal-Meoni.
9 and, eastward, dwelt he as far as the entering in of the desert, from the river Euphrates, —because, their cattle, were multiplied in the land of Gilead;
Kwa upande wa mashariki walienea hadi pembeni mwa jangwa linaloenea mpaka kwenye Mto Frati, kwa sababu mifugo yao ilikuwa imeongezeka huko Gileadi.
10 and, in the days of Saul, they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand, —so they dwelt in their tents, over all the face of the land east of Gilead.
Wakati wa utawala wa Mfalme Sauli, walipigana vita dhidi ya Wahagari, wakaanguka kwa mikono yao, kisha wakaishi katika mahema ya Wahagari katika eneo lote la mashariki ya Gileadi.
11 And, the sons of Gad, over against them, dwelt, in the land of Bashan, as far as Salecah:
Wagadi waliishi jirani nao katika nchi ya Bashani, mpaka Saleka.
12 Joel the chief, and Shapham, the second, —and Janai and Shaphat, in Bashan;
Yoeli ndiye alikuwa mkuu wao, Shafamu wa pili, na wakafuata Yanai na Shafati, huko Bashani.
13 and their brethren of their ancestral house, Michael and Meshullam and Sheba and Jorai and Jacan and Zia and Eber, seven.
Ndugu zao kulingana na koo zao walikuwa saba: Mikaeli, Meshulamu, Sheba, Yorai, Yakani, Zia na Eberi.
14 These, were the sons of Abihail, son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jehishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz,
Hawa walikuwa ndio wana wa Abihaili mwana wa Huri, mwana wa Yaroa, mwana wa Gileadi, mwana wa Mikaeli, mwana wa Yeshishai, mwana wa Yahdo, mwana wa Buzi.
15 Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni, chief of their ancestral house;
Ahi mwana wa Abdieli, mwana wa Guni, alikuwa ndiye kiongozi wa jamaa yao.
16 and they dwelt in Gilead—in Bashan, and in her villages, —and in all the pasture-lands of Sharon, up to their outgoings.
Wagadi waliishi Gileadi, huko Bashani pamoja na vijiji vilivyoizunguka, pia katika nchi yote ya malisho ya Sharoni kote walikoenea.
17 All of them, were genealogically registered in the days of Jotham king of Judah, —and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
Yote haya yaliwekwa katika kumbukumbu za ukoo wao wakati wa utawala wa Yothamu, mfalme wa Yuda na Yeroboamu mfalme wa Israeli.
18 the sons of Reuben and Gad, and half tribe of Manasseh, of the sons of valour, men bearing shield and sword and bending the bow, and instructed in war, were forty-four thousand and seven hundred and sixty, ready to go forth in the host.
Wareubeni, Wagadi na nusu ya kabila la Manase walikuwa na watu mashujaa 44,760 waliokuwa wameandaliwa kwa ajili ya vita: watu wenye nguvu, hodari wa kutumia ngao na upanga, mashujaa wa kutumia upinde, waliokuwa tayari kwa ajili ya kazi hiyo.
19 So they made war with the Hagrites, —and Jetur and Naphish, and Nodab;
Walipigana vita dhidi ya Wahagari, Yeturi, Nafishi na Nodabu.
20 and were helped against them, and the Hagrites and all that were with them were delivered into their hand, —for, unto God, made they outcry, in the war, and he suffered himself to be entreated by them, because they put their trust in him;
Walisaidiwa katika kupigana nao, Mungu akawatia Wahagari pamoja na wote walioungana nao mikononi mwao, kwa sababu walimlilia Mungu wakati wa vita. Alijibu maombi yao, kwa sababu walimtegemea.
21 and they captured their cattle—their camels, fifty thousand, and, flocks, two hundred and fifty thousand, and, asses, two thousand, —and, persons of men, a hundred thousand;
Walitwaa mifugo ya Wahagari: ngamia 50,000, kondoo 250,000, punda 2,000. Pia wakateka watu 100,000,
22 for, many slain, fell, for, of God, was the war, —and they dwelt in their stead, until the captivity.
na wengine wengi waliuawa kwa sababu vita vilikuwa ni vya Mungu. Nao waliendelea kuikalia nchi hiyo mpaka wakati wa uhamisho.
23 And, the sons of the half tribe of Manasseh, dwelt in the land, —from Bashan, as far as to Baal-hermon and Senir and Mount Hermon, they, were multiplied.
Idadi ya nusu ya kabila la Manase walikuwa wengi sana, Wakakaa kuanzia Bashani hadi Baal-Hermoni, yaani mpaka Seniri na mlima Hermoni.
24 And, these, were the heads of their ancestral house, —Epher and Ishi and Eliel and Azriel and Jeremiah and Hodaviah and Jahdiel, men who were heroes of valour, men of renown, chiefs to their ancestral house.
Hawa ndio waliokuwa viongozi wa jamaa za kabila hilo: Eferi, Ishi, Elieli, Azrieli, Yeremia, Hodavia na Yahdieli. Walikuwa askari shujaa watu maarufu, viongozi wa jamaa zao.
25 But they dealt unfaithfully with the God of their fathers, —and went unchastely after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed from before them;
Lakini hawakuwa waaminifu kwa Mungu wa baba zao, nao wakafanya ukahaba kwa miungu ya mataifa, ambayo Mungu alikuwa ameyaangamiza mbele yao.
26 so the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he took them away captive, even the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half tribe of Manasseh, —and brought them in unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.
Kwa hiyo Mungu wa Israeli akaiamsha roho ya Pulu, mfalme wa Ashuru (ambaye pia alijulikana kama Tiglath-Pileseri), ambaye aliwachukua Wareubeni, Wagadi na nusu ya kabila la Manase kwenda uhamishoni. Akawapeleka huko Hala, Habori, Hara na mto Gozani, ambako wamekaa mpaka leo.
