1 Chronicles 4

1 the sons of Judah, Perez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.

यहूदाह के पुत्र: पेरेज़, हेज़रोन, कारमी, हूर और शोबल.

2 And, Reaiah son of Shobal, begat Jahath, and, Jahath, begat Ahumai, and Lahad. These, are the families of the Zorathites.

शोबल का पुत्र रेआइयाह याहाथ का पिता था, याहाथ अहूमाई और लाहाद का. ये सोराहियों के मूल पुरुष थे.

3 And, these, were the sons of Etam, Jezreel and Ishma, and Idbash, —and, the name of their sister, was Hazzelelponi;

एथाम के पुत्र ये थे: येज़्रील, इशमा और इदबाश. इनकी बहन का नाम था हासलेलपोनी.

4 and Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer, the father of Hushah. These, are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.

पेनुएल गेदोर का पिता हुआ और एज़र हुशाह का. बेथलेहेम के पिता, एफ़राथा के पहलौठे हूर के पुत्र ये थे

5 And, Ashhur the father of Tekoa, had two wives, —Helah, and Naarah.

अशहूर, तकोआ के पिता की दो पत्नियां थी, हेलाह और नाराह.

6 And Naarah bare him Ahuzzam and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. These, were the sons of Naarah.

नाराह ने उसके लिए अहुज्ज़ाम, हेफेर, तेमेनी और हाअहाष्तारी को जन्म दिया. ये सभी नाराह के पुत्र थे.

7 And, the sons of Helah, were Zereth, Izhar, and Ethnan.

हेलाह के पुत्र: ज़ेरेथ, ज़ोहार, एथनन.

8 And, Koz, begat Anub, and Zobebah, —and the families of Aharhel, the son of Harum.

और कोज़ पिता था अनूब तथा ज़ोबेबाह का और अहरहेल के वंश का पिता था हारूम.

9 Now it came to pass that Jabez was more honourable than his brethren, —but, his mother, had called his name Jabez, ["he causes pain"] saying, Because I bare him with pain.

याबेज़ अपने भाइयों की अपेक्षा कहीं अधिक प्रतिष्ठित था. उसकी माता ने उसे याबेज़ नाम यह कहकर दिया था, “क्योंकि मैंने उसे दर्द के साथ जन्म दिया है.”

10 So then Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldst, indeed bless, me, and enlarge my boundary, and that thy hand might be with me, —and that thou wouldst work [to deliver me] from evil, that it be not my pain. And God brought about that which he asked.

याबेज़ ने इस्राएल के परमेश्वर की यह दोहाई दी, “आप मुझे आशीष दें और मेरी सीमाओं को बढ़ाएं! इसके अलावा आप मेरे साथ रहते हुए सारी बुराइयों को मुझसे दूर रखें, कि मैं उससे बचा रह सकूं.” परमेश्वर ने उसकी विनती सुन ली.

11 And, Chelub the brother of Shuhah, begat Mehir, the same, was the father of Eshton.

शुहाह का भाई केलुब मेहिर का पिता था, जो एश्तोन का पिता था.

12 And, Eshton, begat Beth-rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of Ir-nahash. These, are the men of Recah.

एश्तोन पिता था बेथ-राफ़ा और पासेह का. तेहिन्‍नाह ईर-नाहाष का पिता था. ये रेकाहवासी थे.

13 And, the sons of Kenaz, were Othniel, and Seraiah, —and, the sons of Othniel, Hathath.

केनज़ के पुत्र थे: ओथनीएल और सेराइयाह. ओथनीएल के पुत्र थे: हाथअथ और मेयोनोथाई.

14 And, Meonothai, begat Ophrah, —and, Seraiah, begat Joab, the father of Ge-harashim, for they were, craftsmen.

मेयोनोथाई पिता हुआ ओफ़राह का, और सेराइयाह पिता हुआ योआब का, जो गेहाराशीम का पिता था. ये गेहाराशीम इसलिये कहलाए कि कारीगर थे.

15 And, the sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh, were Iru, Elah, and Naam, —and the sons of Elah and Kenaz.

येफुन्‍नेह के पुत्र कालेब के पुत्र: इरु, एलाह, और नाअम. एलाह का पुत्र था: केनज़.

16 And, the sons of Jehallelel, Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.

येहालेलेल के पुत्र: ज़ीफ़, ज़िफाह, तिरिया और आसारेल.

17 And, the sons of Ezrah, Jether and Mered, and Epher and Jalon. And, these, are the sons of Bithia, daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took, —and she conceived and bare Miriam and Shammai, and Ishbah, the father of Eshtemoa.

एज़्रा के पुत्र: येथेर, मेरेद, एफ़र और यालोन. मेरेद की एक पत्नी, बिथिया, ने गर्भधारण किया और उसने मिरियम, शम्माई और इशबाह को जन्म दिया, जो एशतमोह का पिता था.

18 And, his wife, the Jewess, bare Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel, the father of Zanoah.

फरओ की पुत्री बिथिया से जन्मे मेरेद की संतान ये थे. उसकी यहूदियावासी पत्नी ने यारेद को जन्म दिया, जो गेदोर का पिता था, हेबेर को भी, जो सोकोह का पिता था, और येकुथिएल को, जो ज़ानोहा को पिता था.

19 And, the sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the father of Keilah, the Garmite, —and Eshtemoa, the Maacathite.

नाहाम की बहन, होदियाह की पत्नी के पुत्र: गारमी के काइलाह और माकाहथि एशतमोह के वंशमूल थे.

20 And, the sons of Shimon, Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-hanan and Tilon. And, the sons of Ishi, Zoheth, and Ben-zoheth.

शिमओन के पुत्र: अम्मोन, रिन्‍नाह, बेन-हानन और तीलोन. इशी के पुत्र: ज़ोहेथ और बेन-ज़ोहेथ.

21 the sons of Shelah, the son of Judah, Er, the father of Lecah, and Laadah, the father of Mareshah, —and the families of the house of them that wrought fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;

यहूदाह के पुत्र: शेलाह के पुत्र एर, जो लेकाह का पिता था, लादाह, जो मारेशाह का पिता था, जो बेथ-अशबेआ नगर वंशमूल था जहां सन के कपड़े का काम होता था.

22 and Jokim, and the men of Cozeba, and Joash, and Saraph who ruled for Moab, and Jashubi-lehem, —but, the records, are ancient.

इनके अलावा योकिम और कोज़ेबा नगरवासी और योआश व सारफ़, जो मोआब पर शासन करते रहे, फिर याशुबीलेहेम को लौट गए. (यहां ये वर्णन पुराने हैं.)

23 They, were the potters and the inhabitants of Netaim, and Gederah, —with the king in his work, dwelt they there.

ये सभी कुम्हार थे, जो नेताईम और गेदेराह में बस गए थे; वहां रहते हुए, वे राजा की सेवा में लगे रहे.

24 The sons of Simeon, Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul:

शिमओन के पुत्र: नमूएल, यामिन, यारिब, ज़ेराह, शाऊल,

25 Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.

उसका पुत्र शल्लूम, उसका पुत्र मिबसाम, उसका पुत्र मिशमा.

26 And, the sons of Mishma, Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.

मिशमा के पुत्र: हम्मूएल, उसका पुत्र ज़क्‍कूर, उसका पुत्र शिमेई.

27 And, Shimei, had sixteen sons, and six daughters, but, his brethren, had not many children, —nor did, any of their family, multiply so much as the sons of Judah.

शिमेई के सोलह पुत्र थे और छः पुत्रियां, मगर उसके भाइयों के अधिक संतान न हुई, न ही उसका वंश बढ़ा, जैसी यहूदाह निवासियों की हुई थी.

28 And they dwelt in Beer-sheba, and Moladah, and Hazar-shual;

वे बेअरशेबा, मोलादाह, हाज़र-शूआल,

29 and in Bilhah, and in Ezem, and in Tolad;

बिल्हा, एज़ेम, तोलाद,

30 and in Bethuel, and in Hormah, and in Ziklag;

बेथुएल, होरमाह, ज़िकलाग,

31 and in Beth-marcaboth, and in Hazar-susim, and in Beth-biri, and in Shaaraim. These, were their cities unto the reign of David.

बेथ-मरकाबोथ, हाज़र-सुसिम, बेथ-बिरी और शअरयिम नगरों में निवास करते थे. जब तक दावीद का शासन रहा, ये इन्हीं के नगर रहे.

32 And, their villages, were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, —five cities;

उनके आस-पास के गांवों के नाम थे, एथाम, एइन, रिम्मोन, तोकेन और आशान, पांच गांव.

33 and all their villages that were round about these cities, as far as Baal. These, were their habitations, and they had their own genealogical register.

ये गांव उन नगरों के आस-पास ही थे. इनका विस्तार बाल नामक नगर तक था. ये इन्हीं के द्वारा बसाए गए नगर थे. ये अपनी वंशावली का लेखा भी रखते थे:

34 And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah, the son of Amaziah;

मेशोबाब, यामलेख, योशाह, जो अमाज़्याह का पुत्र था.

35 and Joel, —and Jehu, the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel:

योएल; येहू, जो योशिबियाह का पुत्र था, जो सेराइयाह का पुत्र था, जो आसिएल का पुत्र था;

36 and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah:

एलिओएनाइ, याकोबाह, ये येहोशाइयाह; असाइयाह; आदिएल; येसिमिएल; बेनाइयाह;

37 and Ziza, son of Shiphi, son of Allon, son of Jedaiah, son of Shimri, son of Shemaiah.

ज़िज़ा, शीफी का पुत्र, जो अल्लोन का पुत्र था, जो येदाइयाह का पुत्र था, जो शिमरी का पुत्र था, जो शेमायाह का पुत्र था.

38 These, introduced by their names, were leading men in their families. And, their ancestral house, brake forth exceedingly;

ये सभी अपने-अपने गोत्रों के प्रधान थे. इनके पिता का वंश बहुत ही बढ़ता चला गया,

39 so they went to the entering in of Gerar, unto the east of the valley, —to seek pasture for their flocks;

उन्होंने घाटी की पूर्वी दिशा की ओर, गेदोर के फाटक की ओर बढ़ना शुरू किया, कि उन्हें अपने भेड़-बकरियों के लिए चरागाह मिल जाए.

40 and they found pasture, fat and good, and, the land, was broad on both hands, and quiet, and secure, —for, of Ham, were the dwellers there aforetime.

यहां उन्हें उत्तम और उपजाऊ चरागाह मिल गया, भूभाग भी बहुत ही फैला हुआ था. यहां शांति थी, चैन था क्योंकि इसके पहले यहां के निवासी हाम के वंश थे.

41 But these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents, and the Meunim who were found there, and devoted them, until this day, and dwelt in their stead, —for there was pasture for their flocks, there.

ये, जिनके नाम यहां लिखे हैं, यहूदिया के राजा हिज़किय्याह के शासनकाल में आए, उन्होंने वहां के मिऊनियों को और उनके शिविरों को नष्ट कर दिया. वे उनके स्थान पर वहां रहने लगे, क्योंकि यहां उनके पशुओं के लिए चरागाह था.

42 And, some of them, of the sons of Simeon, went to Mount Seir, five hundred men, —with Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, sons of Ishi, at their head;

शिमओन के पुत्रों में से पांच सौ पुरुष वहां से सेईर पर्वत को गए. इशी के पुत्र, पेलातियाह, नेअरियाह, रेफ़ाइयाह और उज्ज़िएल उनके प्रधान थे.

43 and they smote the remainder that had escaped, of the Amalekites, —and dwelt there—[as they have] unto this day.

उन्होंने अमालेकियों के भाग को, जो जीवित बचकर यहां आए हुए थे, नष्ट कर दिया, जो अब तक वहां रहते आ रहे थे.
