1 Chronicles 24
1 Now, the sons of Aaron, had their courses, —the sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar;
Quant aux fils d’Aaron, voici leurs classes: Fils d’Aaron: Nadab, Abiu, Eléazar et Ithamar.
2 but Nadab and Abihu, died, before their father, and sons, had they none, —but Eleazar and Ithamar became priests;
Nadab et Abiu moururent avant leur père, sans avoir de fils, et Eléazar et Ithamar remplirent les fonctions du sacerdoce.
3 and David apportioned to them courses, both to Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and to Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, —by their appointed place in their service.
David, Sadoc, de la descendance d’Eléazar, et Achimélech, de la descendance d’Ithamar, répartirent les fils d’Aaron par classes selon leur service.
4 But the sons of Eleazar were found to be more numerous, by the chiefs of their able men, than were the sons of Ithamar, so they divided them, —the sons of Eleazar, had chiefs, of the ancestral house, sixteen, whereas, the sons of Ithamar, had of their ancestral house, eight.
On trouva parmi les fils d’Eléazar plus de chefs que parmi les fils d’Ithamar, et on les répartit ainsi: pour les fils d’Eléazar, seize chefs de famille, et, pour les fils d’Ithamar, huit chefs de famille.
5 They divided them, therefore, by [casting] lots, these with those, —for there were princes of the sanctuary, and princes of God, from among the sons of Eleazar, and among the sons of Ithamar.
On les répartit par le sort, les uns comme les autres, car il se trouvait des princes du sanctuaire et des princes de Dieu aussi bien parmi les fils d’Eléazar que parmi les fils d’Ithamar.
6 And Shemaiah son of Nethanel the scribe from among the Levites, wrote them down, before the king and the rulers and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech son of Abiathar, and the ancestral chiefs, pertaining to the priests and to the Levites, —one ancestral house, was taken for Eleazar, and, was equally taken, for Ithamar.
Séméïas, fils de Nathanaël, le secrétaire, un des lévites, les inscrivit devant le roi et les princes, devant Sadoc le grand prêtre, et Achimélech, fils d’Abiathar, et devant les chefs de familles sacerdotales et lévitiques, une famille étant tirée au sort pour Eléazar, puis une famille pour Ithamar.
7 So then the first lot came forth for Jehoiarib, for Jedaiah, the second;

8 for Harim, the third, for Seorim, the fourth;
le troisième à Harim, le quatrième à Séorim,
9 for Malchijah, the fifth, for Mijamin, the sixth;
le cinquième à Melchia, le sixième à Maïman,
10 for Hakkoz, the seventh, for Abijah, the eighth;
le septième à Accos, le huitième à Abia,
11 for Jeshua, the ninth, for Shecaniah, the tenth;
le neuvième à Jésua, le dixième à Séchénia,
12 for Eliashib, the eleventh, for Jakim, the twelfth;
le onzième a Eliasib, le douzième à Jacim,
13 for Huppah, the thirteenth, for Jeshebeab, the fourteenth;
le treizième à Hoppha, le quatorzième à Isbaab,
14 for Bilgah, the fifteenth, for Immer, the sixteenth;
le quinzième à Belga, le seizième à Emmer,
15 for Hezir, the seventeenth, for Happizzez, the eighteenth;
le dix-septième à Hézir, le dix-huitième à Aphsès,
16 for Pethahiah, the nineteenth, for Jehezkel, the twentieth;
le dix-neuvième à Phétéïa, le vingtième à Hézéchiel,
17 for Jachin, the twenty-first, for Gamul, the twenty-second;
le vingt et unième à Jachin, le vingt-deuxième à Gamul,
18 for Delaiah, the twenty-third, for Maaziah, the twenty-fourth.
le vingt-troisième à Dalaiaü, le vingt-quatrième à Mazziaü.
19 These, were their appointed places for their service, for entering the house of Yahweh, according to the regulation of them, by the hand of Aaron their father, —just as Yahweh God of Israel, commanded him.
Telles furent leurs classes selon leur service, afin qu’ils vinssent à la maison de Yahweh, selon le règlement qu’ils avaient reçu par l’organe d’Aaron, leur père, comme le lui avait ordonné Yahweh, le Dieu d’Israël.
20 Now, as for the sons of Levi who remained, of the sons of Amram, Shubael, of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah.
Voici les chefs du reste des lévites: des fils d’Amram: Subaël; des fils de Subaël: Jéhédéïa;
21 Of Rehabiah, of the sons of Rehabiah, the chief Isshiah;
de Rohobia, des fils de Rohobia: le chef Jésias.
22 of the Izharites, Shelomoth, —of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath;
Des Isaarites: Salémoth; des fils de Salémoth: Jahath.
23 and, the sons [of Hebron], Jeriah, —Amariah, the second, Jehaziel, the third, Jekameam, the fourth;
Fils d’Hébron: Jériaü le premier, Amarias le deuxième, Jahaziel le troisième, Jecmaan le quatrième.
24 the sons of Uzziel, Micah, of the sons of Micah, Shamir;
Fils d’Oziel: Micha; des fils de Micha: Samir;
25 the brother of Micah, Isshiah, of the sons of Isshiah, Zechariah.
frère de Micha: Jésia; fils de Jésia: Zacharias. —
26 The sons of Merari, Mahli and Mushi, —the sons of Jaaziah, Beno;
Fils de Mérari: Moholi et Musi.
27 the sons of Merari, of Jaaziah, Beno, and Shoham and Zaccur and Ibri:
Fils de Mérari, par Oziaü, son fils: Saam, Zachur et Hébri.
28 of Mahli, Eleazar, who had no sons;
De Moholi: Eléazar, qui n’eut point de fils;
29 of Kish—the sons of Kish, Jerameel;
de Cis, les fils de Cis; Jéraméel.
30 and, the sons of Mushi, Mahli and Eder and Jerimoth. These, were the sons of the Levites, belonging to their ancestral house.
Fils de Musi: Moholi, Eder et Jérimoth.
31 Moreover, they also, cast lots along with their brethren the sons of Aaron, before David the king and Zadok and Ahimelech, and the ancestral chiefs, pertaining to the priests and to the Levites, the ancestral chief along with his younger brethren.
Ce sont là les fils de Lévi, selon leurs familles. Eux aussi, comme leurs frères, les fils d’Aaron, ils tirèrent le sort devant le roi David, devant Sadoc et Achimélech, et devant les chefs de famille sacerdotales et lévitiques, les plus anciens étant sur le même pied que les plus jeunes.
