< 1 Chronicles 20 >
1 And it came to pass, at the time of the turn of the year, at the time of the going forth of kings, that Joab led forth the force of the army, and laid waste the land of the sons of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah, but, David, was tarrying in Jerusalem, —and Joab smote Rabbah, and overthrew it.
A kad proðe godina, u vrijeme kad carevi idu na vojsku, Joav izvede vojsku, te potiraše zemlju sinova Amonovijeh, i došavši opkoli Ravu; a David bješe ostao u Jerusalimu. I Joav osvoji Ravu i raskopa je.
2 And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it weighed a talent of gold, and, therein, were precious stones, and it was [set] on the head of David, —and, the spoil of the city, brought he forth, in great abundance;
I David uze caru njihovu s glave krunu, i naðe da poteže talanat zlata, i drago kamenje bješe u njoj; i metnuše je na glavu Davidu, i odnese iz grada plijen vrlo velik.
3 and, the people that were therein, brought he forth, and cut with the saw and with threshing sledges of iron and with axes, thus also, used David to do unto all the cities of the son of Ammon, —and David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
A narod što bijaše u njemu izvede i isijeèe ih pilama i gvozdenijem branama i sjekirama. I tako uèini David svijem gradovima sinova Amonovijeh. Potom se vrati David sa svijem narodom u Jerusalim.

5 And there again came to be a battle with the Philistines, —and Elhanan son of Jair smote Lahmi, brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear, was like a weaver’s beam.
Nasta opet rat s Filistejima, u kom Elhanan sin Jairov ubi Lamiju brata Golijata Getejina, kojemu kopljaèa bijaše kao vratilo.
6 And there again came to be war with Gath, —where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes, six on each hand and foot, were four and twenty, and, he also, had been born unto the giant.
I opet nasta rat u Gatu, gdje bijaše jedan èovjek vrlo visok, koji imaše po šest prsta, skupa dvadeset i èetiri; i on bijaše roda divovskoga.
7 But, when he reproached Israel, Jonathan, son of Shimea brother of David, smote him.
I ružaše Izrailja, te ga ubi Jonatan sin Samaje brata Davidova.
8 These, were born unto the giant in Gath, —but they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
Ti bijahu sinovi istoga diva iz Gata, i pogiboše od ruke Davidove i od ruke sluga njegovijeh.
