1 Chronicles 20
1 And it came to pass, at the time of the turn of the year, at the time of the going forth of kings, that Joab led forth the force of the army, and laid waste the land of the sons of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah, but, David, was tarrying in Jerusalem, —and Joab smote Rabbah, and overthrew it.
Und nach Verfluß eines Jahres, zur Zeit, da die Könige ausziehen, führte Joab die Kriegsmacht aus und verheerte das Land der Kinder Ammon; und er kam und belagerte Rabba, während David in Jerusalem blieb, und Joab eroberte Rabba und zerstörte es.
2 And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it weighed a talent of gold, and, therein, were precious stones, and it was [set] on the head of David, —and, the spoil of the city, brought he forth, in great abundance;
Und David nahm die Krone ihres Königs von dessen Haupte, und er fand, daß sie ein Talent Gold wog und mit Edelsteinen besetzt war; und sie wurde David auf das Haupt gesetzt. Auch führte er viel Raub aus der Stadt;
3 and, the people that were therein, brought he forth, and cut with the saw and with threshing sledges of iron and with axes, thus also, used David to do unto all the cities of the son of Ammon, —and David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
aber das Volk darin führte er heraus und stellte sie an die Sägen und in die Eisengruben und an die Eisenhämmer. Also tat David allen Städten der Kinder Ammon. Darnach zog David samt dem ganzen Volk wieder nach Jerusalem.
4 And it came to pass, after this, that there was yet again a battle in Gezer, with the Philistines, —then, Sibbecai the Hushathite smote Sippai of the children of the giants, and they were subdued.
Darnach kam es bei Geser zum Streite mit den Philistern. Damals erschlug Sibechai, der Chuschatiter, den Sippai, einen von den Kindern Raphas; und sie wurden gedemütigt.
5 And there again came to be a battle with the Philistines, —and Elhanan son of Jair smote Lahmi, brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear, was like a weaver’s beam.
Und es kam nochmals zum Streite mit den Philistern. Da erschlug Elchanan, der Sohn Jairs, Lachmi, den Bruder Goliats, den Gatiter, dessen Speerschaft wie ein Weberbaum war.
6 And there again came to be war with Gath, —where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes, six on each hand and foot, were four and twenty, and, he also, had been born unto the giant.
Und abermal kam es zum Kriege bei Gat; da war ein sehr großer Mann, der hatte je sechs Finger und je sechs Zehen, im ganzen vierundzwanzig. Auch er stammte von Rapha.
7 But, when he reproached Israel, Jonathan, son of Shimea brother of David, smote him.
Als er nun Israel Hohn sprach, erschlug ihn Jonatan, der Sohn Simeas, des Bruders Davids.
8 These, were born unto the giant in Gath, —but they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
Diese waren dem Rapha zu Gat geboren, und sie fielen durch die Hand Davids und durch die Hand seiner Knechte.
