1 Chronicles 12
1 Now these, are they who came unto David, to Ziklag, he yet being shut up, because of Saul son of Kish, —and, they, were among the heroes, helpers in the war;
La siguiente es una lista de los hombres que se unieron a David cuando estaba en Siclag, todavía escondiéndose de Saúl, hijo de Cis. Eran algunos de los principales guerreros que lucharon del lado de David.
2 armed with the bow, using right hand or left with stones, and with arrows in the bow, —of the brethren of Saul, out of Benjamin:
Todos ellos eran hábiles arqueros, y podían disparar flechas o hondas con la mano derecha o con la izquierda. Eran parientes de Saúl de la tribu de Benjamín.
3 the chief, Ahiezer, and Joash, sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite, and Jeziel and Pelet, sons of Azmaveth, —and Beracah, and Jehu the Anathothite;
Ahiezer era su líder, luego lo fue Joás; los hijos de Semaa de Gugibeá; Jeziel y Pelet los hijos de Azmavet; Beraca; Jehú de Anatot;
4 and Ishmaiah, the Gibeonite, a hero among the thirty, and over the thirty, —and Jeremiah and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Jozabad, the Gederathite;
Ismaías de Gabaón, (un fuerte guerrero entre los Treinta, y líder sobre los Treinta); Jeremías; Jahaziel; Johanán; Jozabad de Gedera;
5 Eluzai and Jerimoth and Bealiah and Shemariah, and Shephatiah, the Haruphite;
Eluzai; Jerimot; Bealías; Semarías; Sefatías de Haruf.
6 Elkanah and Isshiah, and Azarel, and Joezer and Jashobeam, the Korahites;
Elcana, Isías, Azareel, Joezer y Jasobeam (quienes eran Coreítas);
7 and Joelah and Zebadiah, sons of Jeroham, of Gedor.
Joela y Zebadías, los hijos de Jeroham de Gedor.
8 And, of the Gadites, there separated themselves unto David, to the stronghold towards the desert, heroes of valour, men of war, for battle, men that could handle shield and spear, —and, faces of lions, were their faces, and, like gazelles upon the mountains, were they, for swiftness:
Algunos guerreros de la tribu de Gad se pasaron al lado de David cuando éste estaba en la fortaleza del desierto. Eran guerreros fuertes y experimentados, curtidos en la batalla, expertos en el uso de escudos y lanzas. Sus rostros parecían tan fieros como los de los leones, y corrían tan rápido como las gacelas en las montañas.
9 Ezer, the chief, Obadiah, the second, —Eliab, the third;
Ezer el era el líder, Obadías (el segundo), Eliab (el tercero),
10 Mashmannah, the fourth, Jeremiah, the fifth;
Mismaná (el cuarto), Jeremías (el quinto),
11 Attai, the sixth, Eliel the seventh;
Atai (el sexto), Eliel (el séptimo),
12 Johanan, the eighth, Elzabad, the ninth;
Johanán (el octavo), Elzabad (el noveno),
13 Jeremiah, the tenth, Machbannai, the eleventh.
Jeremías (el décimo), Macbanai (el undécimo).
14 These, were of the sons of Gad, chiefs of the host, —one to a hundred, the least, and, the greatest, to a thousand.
Estos guerreros de Gad eran oficiales del ejército. El menos hábil de ellos estaba a cargo de 100 hombres; y el mejor estaba a cargo de 1.000.
15 These, are they who passed over the Jordan, in the first month, when, it, was full, over all its banks, —and they put to flight all them of the vales, to the east and to the west.
Estos eran los que cruzaban el río Jordán en el primer mes del año, cuando se desborda. Expulsaron a todos los pueblos que vivían en el valle, tanto al este como al oeste.
16 And there came, of the sons of Benjamin, and Judah, as far as the stronghold, unto David.
Otros de las tribus de Benjamín y Judá también vinieron a unirse a David en la fortaleza.
17 And David went forth to meet them, and responded, and said to them, If, peaceably, ye are come unto me, to help me, I shall have towards you, a heart for unity, —but, if to betray me to mine adversaries, there being no violence in my hands, may the God of our fathers see and rebuke!
David salió a recibirlos y les dijo: “Si han venido en son de paz para ayudarme, podemos ser amigos. Pero si han venido a entregarme a mis enemigos, aunque no he hecho nada malo, que el Dios de nuestros padres vea lo que hacen y los condene”.
18 Then, the spirit, clothed Amasai, chief of the thirty, Thine, O David, Yea, with, thee, O son of Jesse! Prosperity, prosperity to thee, And prosperity to thy helpers, For thy God, hath helped thee: So David accepted them, and set them among the chiefs of the band.
Entonces el Espíritu vino sobre Amasai, el líder de los Treinta. “¡Somos tuyos, David, y estamos contigo, hijo de Isaí! Que la paz, la prosperidad y el éxito sean tuyos y de los que te ayuden, porque Dios es el que te ayuda”. Así que David les permitió unirse a él, y los puso al frente de su ejército.
19 And, of Manasseh, there fell away unto David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle, but they helped them not, —for the lords of the Philistines advisedly sent him away, saying, At the price of our heads, he might fall away to his master, Saul.
Otros se pasaron al lado de David desde la tribu de Manasés y se unieron a él cuando fue con los filisteos a atacar a Saúl. Sin embargo, los jefes filisteos decidieron finalmente despedirlos, diciéndose: “Nos costará la cabeza si nos abandona y se une a su amo Saúl”.
20 When he went into Ziklag, there fell away unto him, of Manasseh, Adnah and Jozabad, and Jediael and Michael and Jozabad, and Elihu and Zillethai, —chiefs of the thousands that pertained to Manasseh;
La siguiente es una lista de los hombres de Manasés que se pasaron al lado de David cuando éste regresó a Siclag: Adnas, Jozabad, Jediael, Micael, Jozabad, Eliú y Ziletai, jefes de millares en la tribu de Manasés.
21 and, they, helped with David, against the [marauding] band, for, heroes of valour, were they all, —and they became captains in the host;
Ellos ayudaron a David contra los asaltantes, pues todos eran guerreros fuertes y experimentados y comandantes del ejército.
22 for, from day to day, there came unto David, to help him, —until it was a great camp, like a camp of God.
Cada día llegaban hombres para ayudar a David, hasta que tuvo un gran ejército, como el ejército de Dios.
23 And, these, are the numbers of the chiefs armed for war, they came unto David, to Hebron, —to turn round the kingdom of Saul unto him, according to the bidding of Yahweh:
Esta es la lista del número de guerreros armados que vinieron y se unieron a David en Hebrón para entregarle el reino de Saúl, como había dicho el Señor.
24 Sons of Judah, bearers of shield and spear, six thousand and eight hundred, armed for war.
De la tribu de Judá, 6.800 guerreros con escudos y lanzas.
25 Of sons of Simeon, heroes of valour for the war, seven thousand, and one hundred.
De la tribu de Simeón, 7.100 guerreros fuertes.
26 Of the sons of Levi, four thousand, and six hundred.
De la tribu de Leví, 4.600,
27 And Jehoiada, was chief ruler for Aaron, —and, with him, three thousand and seven hundred;
incluyendo a Joiada, jefe de la familia de Aarón, y con él 3.700,
28 and Zadok, a young man, a hero of valour, —and the house of his father, captains twenty and two.
y Sadoc, un joven guerrero fuerte, con 22 miembros de su familia, todos oficiales.
29 And, of the sons of Benjamin, brethren of Saul, three thousand, —and, hitherto, the greater part of them, had been keeping the charge of the house of Saul.
De la tribu de Benjamín, de entre los parientes de Saúl, 3.000, la mayoría de los cuales habían permanecido leales a Saúl hasta ese momento.
30 And, of the sons of Ephraim, twenty thousand, and eight hundred, —heroes of valour, men of renown, to their ancestral house.
De la tribu de Efraín, 20.800 guerreros fuertes, cada uno de ellos muy apreciado en su propio clan.
31 And, of the half tribe of Manasseh, eighteen thousand, who were distinguished by name, coming in to make David king.
De la media tribu de Manasés, 18.000 hombres designados por su nombre para venir a hacer rey a David.
32 And, of the sons of Issachar, such as were of good understanding of the times, to know what Israel, should do, their chiefs, were two hundred, and, all their brethren, were at their bidding.
De la tribu de Isacar vinieron líderes que conocían y podían entender los signos de los tiempos y lo que Israel debía hacer: un total de 200 líderes de la tribu junto con sus parientes.
33 Of Zebulun—such as were ready to go forth in host, expert for battle with all weapons of war, fifty thousand, —and for setting in array, not of two minds!
De la tribu de Zabulón, 50.000 guerreros. Estaban completamente armados y listos para la batalla, y totalmente dedicados.
34 And, of Naphtali, a thousand captains, —and, with them, with shield and spear, thirty-seven thousand.
De la tribu de Neftalí, 1.000 oficiales y 37.000 guerreros con escudos y lanzas.
35 And, of the Danite, expert for war, twenty-eight thousand, and six hundred.
De la tribu de Dan, 28.600 guerreros, todos preparados para la batalla.
36 And, of Asher, such as were ready to go forth in host to set in array for battle, forty thousand.
De la tribu de Aser, 40.000 guerreros experimentados, todos listos para la batalla.
37 And, from over the Jordan, of the Reubenites and Gadites and half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of weapons of war for battle, a hundred and twenty thousand.
De la parte oriental del río Jordán, de las tribus de Rubén, Gad y la media tribu de Manasés, 120.000 guerreros con todo tipo de armas.
38 All these, being men of war, expert in setting in battle-array, with a perfect heart, came to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel, —moreover also, all the rest of Israel, were of one heart to make David king.
Todos estos hombres llegaron a Hebrón vestidos para la batalla, completamente decididos a hacer rey a David. Todo Israel estaba de acuerdo en que David debía ser rey.
39 So they were there, with David, three days, eating and drinking, —for their brethren had made preparation for them.
Se quedaron allí tres días, comiendo y bebiendo juntos, pues sus parientes les habían proporcionado provisiones.
40 Moreover also, they who were near of kin unto them, as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, were bringing bread, on asses and on camels and on mules and on oxen, meal-food, cakes of figs and cakes of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep—in abundance, —for there was joy Israel.
Sus vecinos, incluso de lugares tan lejanos como Isacar, Zabulón y Neftalí, llegaron trayendo comida en burros, camellos, mulas y bueyes. Tenían mucha harina, tortas de higos, racimos de pasas, vino, aceite de oliva, ganado y ovejas, porque Israel estaba muy contento.
