< 1 Chronicles 11 >
1 Then did all Israel gather themselves together to David, unto Hebron, saying, —Lo! thy bone and thy flesh, are we.
Gbogbo àwọn Israẹli kó ara wọn jọ pọ̀ sí ọ̀dọ̀ Dafidi ní Hebroni, wọ́n sì wí pé, “Ẹran-ara rẹ àti ẹ̀jẹ̀ rẹ ni àwa í ṣe.
2 Moreover also, in time past even when Saul was king, thou, wast he that led out and brought in Israel, —and Yahweh thy God said unto thee, Thou, shalt shepherd my people Israel, Yea, thou, shalt be chief ruler, over my people Israel.
Ní àtijọ́, kódà nígbà tí Saulu jẹ ọba, ìwọ ni ẹni tí ó darí Israẹli ní ojú ogun wọn. Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ sì wí fún ọ pé, ‘Ìwọ yóò sì jẹ́ olùṣọ́ Israẹli ènìyàn mi, ìwọ yóò sì jẹ́ olórí fún wọn.’”
3 Thus came all the elders of Israel unto the king, to Hebron, and David solemnised to them a covenant in Hebron, before Yahweh, —and they anointed David to be king over Israel, according to the word of Yahweh, through Samuel.
Nígbà tí gbogbo àwọn ìjòyè Israẹli tí wọ́n ti wá sọ́dọ̀ ọba Dafidi ni Hebroni. Ó sì ṣe májẹ̀mú pẹ̀lú wọn ní Hebroni níwájú Olúwa, wọ́n sì fi òróró yan Dafidi ní ọba lórí Israẹli, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa láti ọwọ́ Samuẹli.
4 Then went David and all Israel to Jerusalem, the same, was Jebus, —where were the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land.
Dafidi àti gbogbo àwọn ọmọ Israẹli jáde lọ sí Jerusalẹmu (tí ṣe Jebusi). Àwọn Jebusi ara ilẹ̀ náà ń gbé níbẹ̀.
5 And the inhabitants of Jebus said unto David, Thou shalt not come in hither, —But David captured the citadel of Zion, the same, is the city of David.
Àwọn ará ìlú Jebusi sì wí fún Dafidi pé, “Ìwọ kò sì gbọdọ̀ wọ ìhín yìí wá.” Ṣùgbọ́n Dafidi kó ìlú odi Sioni—èyí tí í ṣe ìlú Dafidi.
6 And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites, first, shall become a chief, and a ruler, —So then Joab son of Zeruiah, went up first, and became a chief.
Dafidi ti wí pé, “Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá tètè kọlu àwọn ará Jebusi ni yóò di olórí àti balógun.” Joabu ọmọ Seruiah sì kọ́kọ́ gòkè lọ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ó sì gba olórí.
7 And David dwelt in the citadel, —for this cause, did they call it, The City of David.
Dafidi sì ń gbé inú ìlú odi, nítorí náà ni wọ́n fi ń pè é ni ìlú Dafidi.
8 And he built the city round about, from Millo even as far as the circuit, —but, Joab, suffered the remainder of the city to live.
Ó sì kọ́ àwọn ìlú náà yíkákiri; láti Millo yíkákiri; Joabu sì tún ìyókù àwọn ìlú náà ṣe.
9 Thus did David wax greater and yet greater, —and, Yahweh of Hosts, was with him.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Dafidi ń ga, ó sì pọ̀ sí i, nítorí pé Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wà pẹ̀lú rẹ̀.
10 Now, these, are the chiefs of the heroes, that pertained to David, who held strongly with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king, —according to the word of Yahweh, concerning Israel.
Àwọn wọ̀nyí sì ni ìjòyè alágbára ọkùnrin Dafidi, àwọn pẹ̀lú gbogbo àwọn ọmọ Israẹli, wọ́n sì fún ìjọba rẹ̀ ní àtìlẹ́yìn tó lágbára láti mú un tàn káàkiri gbogbo ilẹ̀, gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti ṣèlérí.
11 And, this, is the number of the heroes who pertained to David, —Jashobeam son of a Hachmonite, chief of the thirty, the same, brandished his spear over three hundred—slain at one time.
Èyí sì ni iye àwọn akọni ọkùnrin Dafidi: Jaṣobeamu ọmọ Hakumoni, òun sì ni olórí nínú àwọn ìjòyè, ó sì gbé ọ̀kọ̀ rẹ̀ sókè lórí àwọn ọ̀ọ́dúnrún ènìyàn, àwọn ẹni tí ó pa ní ogun ẹ̀ẹ̀kan.
12 And, after him, was Eleazar son of Dodai, the Ahohite, —he, was among the three heroes;
Lẹ́yìn rẹ̀ sì ni Eleasari ọmọ Dodo àwọn ará Ahohi, ọ̀kan lára àwọn mẹ́ta ọkùnrin alágbára.
13 he, was with David in Pas-dammim, where, the Philistines, were gathered together to battle, and there was a field-plot full of barley, —and, the people, fled, from before the Philistines;
Ó sì wà pẹ̀lú Dafidi ní Pasi-Dammimu nígbà tí àwọn ará Filistini kó ara wọn jọ láti jagun, níbi tí ilẹ̀ kan wà tí ó kún fún ọkà barle. Àwọn ènìyàn sì sálọ kúrò níwájú Filistini.
14 so they took their stand in the midst of the plot and rescued it, and smote the Philistines, —and Yahweh wrought a great victory.
Ṣùgbọ́n wọ́n mú ìdúró wọn ní àárín pápá náà. Wọ́n sì gbà a wọ́n sì gún àwọn ará Filistini mọ́lẹ̀, Olúwa sì mú ìgbàlà ńlá fún wọn.
15 And three of the thirty chiefs went down upon the rock, unto David, into the cave of Adullam, —a host of Philistines, being encamped in the vale of Rephaim.
Mẹ́ta nínú àwọn ọgbọ̀n ìjòyè sọ̀kalẹ̀ tọ́ Dafidi wá lọ sí orí àpáta nínú ihò Adullamu, nígbà tí àwọn ẹgbẹ́ Filistini sì dúró ní àfonífojì ní orí òkè Refaimu.
16 Now, David, then was in the stronghold, —and, a garrison of Philistines, then was in Bethlehem.
Ní àsìkò náà Dafidi sì ń bẹ nínú ìlú odi, ẹgbẹ́ ogun àwọn ará Filistini sì ń bẹ ní Bẹtilẹhẹmu.
17 And David longed, and said—Who will give me to drink of the water, out of the well of Bethlehem, that is within the gate?
Dafidi sí pòǹgbẹ fún omi ó sì wí pé, “Háà, ẹnìkan yóò ha bu omi láti inú kànga ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ ẹnu-bodè Bẹtilẹhẹmu fún un mu?”
18 And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was within the gate, and bare it, and brought it in unto David, —yet would not David drink it, but poured it out unto Yahweh;
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwọn mẹ́ta náà sì là láti ogun ará Filistini, ó sì fa omi jáde láti inú kànga ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ ẹnu-bodè Bẹtilẹhẹmu ó sì gbé padà tọ Dafidi wá. Ṣùgbọ́n ó kọ̀ láti mu ú: dípò, ó sì tú jáde níwájú Olúwa.
19 and said—Far be it from me, of my God, that I should do this! The blood of these men, shall I drink, with their lives? For, with their lives, have they brought it! So he would not drink it. These things, did the three heroes.
“Kí Ọlọ́run má jẹ́ kí èmi ó má ṣe ṣe èyí!” ó wí pé. “Ṣé kí èmi kí ó mú ẹ̀jẹ̀ ọkùnrin yí ẹni tí ó fi ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ wéwu?” Nítorí wọ́n fi ẹ̀mí wọn wéwu láti mú padà wá, Dafidi kò ní mu ú. Nǹkan wọ̀nyí ni àwọn akọni mẹ́ta ọkùnrin náà ṣe ohun ìyanu ńlá.
20 And, Abishai brother of Joab—he, was the chief of three, he, having brandished his spear against three hundred—who were slain, —and so, he, had a name among three.
Abiṣai arákùnrin Joabu ìjòyè àwọn mẹ́ta. Ó sì gbé ọ̀kọ̀ rẹ̀ sókè lórí àwọn ọ̀ọ́dúnrún àwọn ènìyàn, àwọn ẹni tí ó pa, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ó sì di olókìkí gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn mẹ́ta.
21 Of the three in the second rank, was he honourable, therefore became he their captain, —though, unto the [first] three, did he not attain.
Ó sì gba ìlọ́po ọlá lórí àwọn mẹ́tẹ̀ẹ̀ta ó sì di olórí wọn, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé a kò ka kún ara wọn.
22 Benaiah, son of Jehoiada, son of a man of valour, hero of many a deed, from Kabziel—he, smote the two [sons] of Ariel of Moab, he, also went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit, in time of snow;
Benaiah ọmọ Jehoiada ó sì jẹ́ akọni oníjà láti Kabṣeeli, ẹni tí ó ṣe iṣẹ́ agbára ńlá. Ó sì pa àwọn ọmọ Arieli méjì ti Moabu, ó sì tún sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí inú ihò lákokò yìnyín dídì, ó sì pa kìnnìún kan
23 he, also smote an Egyptian, a man of [great] stature, five cubits, and, in the hand of the Egyptian, was a spear like a weaver’s beam, so he went down unto him with a staff, —and wrested the spear out of the hand of the Egyptian, and slew him with his spear.
Ó sì pa ara Ejibiti ẹni tí ó ga ní ìwọ̀n ẹsẹ̀ méje àti ààbọ̀ ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ará Ejibiti wọn ní ọ̀kọ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìdábùú igi ahunṣọ àti ọ̀pá ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀, Benaiah sọ̀kalẹ̀ lórí rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú kùmọ̀. Ó sì gba ọ̀kọ̀ náà láti ọwọ́ ará Ejibiti ó sì pa á pẹ̀lú ọ̀kọ̀ rẹ̀.
24 These things, did Benaiah son of Jehoiada, so, he, had a name among three heroes.
Nǹkan wọ̀nyí sì ní ìwà akin Benaiah ọmọ Jehoiada; ohun náà pẹ̀lú sì di olókìkí gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn akọni ọkùnrin mẹ́ta.
25 Among the thirty, lo! honourable, was he, but, unto the [first] three, did he not attain, —howbeit David set him over his council.
Ó sì ní ọlá púpọ̀ ju àwọn ọgbọ̀n lọ, ṣùgbọ́n a kò kà á láàrín àwọn mẹ́tẹ̀ẹ̀ta. Dafidi sì fi sí ìkáwọ́ àwọn ẹ̀ṣọ́.
