1 Adam, Seth, Enosh:
ஆதாம், சேத், ஏனோஸ்,
2 Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared:
கேனான், மகலாலெயேல், யாரேத்,
3 Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech:
ஏனோக்கு, மெத்தூசலா, லாமேக்கு, நோவா ஆகியோர்.
4 Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
நோவாவின் மகன்கள்: சேம், காம், யாப்பேத்.
5 The sons of Japheth, Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech and Tiras.
யாப்பேத்தின் மகன்கள்: கோமர், மாகோகு, மாதாய், யாவான், தூபால், மேசேக்கு, தீராஸ்.
6 And, the sons of Gomer, Ashkenaz, and Diphath, and Togarmah.
கோமரின் மகன்கள்: அஸ்கினாஸ், ரீப்பாத்து, தொகர்மா.
7 And, the sons of Javan, Elishah, and Tarshish, —Kittim, and Rodanim.
யாவானின் மகன்கள்: எலீஷா, தர்ஷீஸ், கித்தீம், ரொதானீம்.
8 The sons of Ham, Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
காமின் மகன்கள்: கூஷ், மிஸ்ராயீம், பூத், கானான்.
9 And, the sons of Cush, Seba, and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raama, and Sabteca. And, the sons of Raamah, Sheba, and Dedan.
கூஷின் மகன்கள்: சேபா, ஆவிலா, சப்தா, ராமா, சப்திகா என்பவர்கள். ராமாவின் மகன்கள்: சேபா, திதான்.
10 And, Cush, begat Nimrod, —he, began to be a mighty one in the earth.
கூஷின் மகன் நிம்ரோத்; இவன் பூமியில் வலிமையுள்ள வீரனாக விளங்கினான்.
11 And, Mizraim, begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,
மிஸ்ராயீமின் சந்ததிகள்: லூதீமியர், ஆனாமியர், லெகாபியர், நப்தூகியர்,
12 and Pathrusim, and Casluhim—whence went forth the Philistines, and Caphtorim.
பத்ரூசீயர், பெலிஸ்தியரின் சந்ததிக்கு தலைவனான கஸ்லூகியர், கப்தோரியர்.
13 And, Canaan, begat Zidon his firstborn, and Heth;
கானானின் சந்ததிகள்: மூத்த மகன் சீதோன், கேத்து,
14 and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite;
எபூசியர், எமோரியர், கிர்காசியர்,
15 and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite;
ஏவியர், அர்கீயர், சீனியர்,
16 and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.
அர்வாதியர், செமாரியர், காமாத்தியர்.
17 The sons of Shem, Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram, —and Uz, and Hul, and Gethur, and Meshech.
சேமின் மகன்கள்: ஏலாம், அசூர், அர்பக்சாத், லூத், ஆராம். ஆராமின் மகன்கள்: ஊத்ஸ், கூல், கேத்தெர், மேசேக்கு.
18 And, Arpachshad, begat Shelah, —and, Shelah, begat Eber.
அர்பக்சாத் சேலாவின் தகப்பன், சேலா ஏபேரின் தகப்பன்.
19 And, unto Eber, were born two sons, —the name of the one, was Peleg, for, in his days, was the earth divided, and, the name of his brother, was Joktan.
ஏபேருக்கு இரண்டு மகன்கள் பிறந்தார்கள். ஒருவன் பெயர் பேலேகு, ஏனெனில் அவன் காலத்தில் பூமியிலுள்ள மக்கள் வெவ்வேறு மொழி குழுக்களாக பிரிக்கப்பட்டனர். அவனுடைய சகோதரன் பெயர் யொக்தான்.
20 And, Joktan, begat Almodad, and Sheleph, —and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah;
யொக்தான் என்பவன் அல்மோதாத், செலேப், அசர்மாவேத், யேராகு,
21 and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah;
அதோராம், ஊசால், திக்லா,
22 and Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba;
ஏபால், அபிமாயேல், சேபா,
23 and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these, were the sons of Joktan.
ஓப்பீர், ஆவிலா, யோபாப் ஆகியோரின் தகப்பன். இவர்களே யொக்தானின் மகன்கள்.
24 Shem, Arpachshad, Shelah;
சேம், அர்பக்சாத், சேலா;
25 Eber, Peleg, Reu;
ஏபேர், பேலேகு, ரெகூ,
26 Serug, Nahor, Terah;
செரூகு, நாகோர், தேராகு,
27 Abram—the same, is Abraham.
ஆபிராமாகிய ஆபிரகாம்.
28 The sons of Abraham, Isaac and Ishmael.
ஆபிரகாமின் மகன்கள்: ஈசாக்கு, இஸ்மயேல் என்பவர்கள்.
29 These, are their generations, —the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth, then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam;
அவர்களின் சந்ததிகள் இதுவே: நெபாயோத் இஸ்மயேலின் மூத்த மகன், பின்பு கேதார், அத்பியேல், மிப்சாம்;
30 Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema;
மிஷ்மா, தூமா, மாசா, ஆதாத், தேமா,
31 Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These, are the sons of Ishmael.
யெத்தூர், நாபீஸ், கேத்மா என்பவர்கள். இவர்கள் இஸ்மயேலின் மகன்கள்.
32 And, the sons of Keturah, the concubine of Abraham, she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah, —and, the sons of Jokshan, Sheba, and Dedan;
ஆபிரகாமின் மறுமனையாட்டி கேத்தூராள் பெற்ற மகன்கள்: சிம்ரான், யக்க்ஷான், மேதான், மீதியான், இஸ்பாக், சூவா. யக்க்ஷானின் மகன்கள்: சேபா, தேதான்.
33 and, the sons of Midian, Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these, were the sons of Keturah.
மீதியானின் மகன்கள்: ஏப்பா, ஏப்பேர், ஆனோக்கு, அபிதா, எல்தாகா. இவர்கள் அனைவரும் கேத்தூராளின் சந்ததிகள்.
34 So then Abraham begat Isaac, —the sons of Isaac, were Esau and Israel.
ஆபிரகாம் ஈசாக்கின் தகப்பன், ஈசாக்கின் மகன்கள்: ஏசா, இஸ்ரயேல்.
35 the sons of Esau, Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah.
ஏசாவின் மகன்கள்: எலிப்பாஸ், ரெகுயேல், எயூஷ், யாலாம், கோராகு.
36 The sons of Eliphaz, Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.
எலிப்பாஸின் மகன்கள்: தேமான், ஓமார், செப்போ, கத்தாம், கேனாஸ்; திம்னா என்பவளுக்கு அமலேக்கு பிறந்தான்.
37 The sons of Reuel, Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
ரெகுயேலின் மகன்கள்: நாகாத், செராகு, சம்மா, மீசா.
38 And, the sons of Seir, Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, —and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.
சேயீரின் மகன்கள்: லோத்தான், சோபால், சிபியோன், ஆனாகு, திஷோன், ஏசேர், திஷான்.
39 And, the sons of Lotan, Hori, and Homam, —and, Lotan’s sister, was Timna.
லோத்தானின் மகன்கள்: ஓரி, ஓமாம் என்பவர்கள். திம்னாள் லோத்தானின் சகோதரி.
40 The sons of Shobal, Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi and Onam. And, the sons of Zibeon, Aiah and Anah.
சோபாலின் மகன்கள்: அல்வான், மானகாத், ஏபால், செப்பி, ஓனாம். சிபியோனின் மகன்கள்: அயா, ஆனாகு.
41 The sons of Anah, Dishon, —and, the sons of Dishon, Hamran, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
ஆனாகின் மகன்: திஷோன். திஷோனுடைய மகன்கள்: எம்தான், எஸ்பான், இத்ரான், கெரான்.
42 The sons of Ezer, Bilhan, and Zaavan, Jaakan. The sons of Dishan, Uz and Aran.
ஏசேருடைய மகன்கள்: பில்கான், சகவான், யாக்கான். திஷானுடைய மகன்கள்: ஊத்ஸ், அரான்.
43 Now, these, are the kings, who reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned a king of the sons of Israel, —Bela the son of Beor, and, the name of his city, was Dinhabah.
இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களை ஒரு அரசர் ஆட்சி செய்யுமுன், ஏதோம் நாட்டில் அரசாண்ட அரசர்கள்: பேயோரின் மகன் பேலா; அவனுடைய பட்டணம் தின்காபா எனப் பெயரிடப்பட்டது.
44 And Bela died, —and there reigned in his stead, Jobab son of Zerah, of Bozrah.
பேலா இறந்தபின்பு போஸ்றாவைச் சேர்ந்த சேராகின் மகன் யோபாப் அவனுக்குப்பின் அரசனானான்.
45 And Jobab died, —and there reigned in his stead, Husham, of the land of the Temanites.
யோபாப் இறந்தபின்பு அவனுடைய இடத்தில் தேமான் நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த உஷாம் அரசனானான்.
46 And Husham died, —and there reigned in his stead, Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, and, the name of his city, was Avith.
உஷாம் இறந்தபின்பு, மோவாப் நாட்டிலே மீதியானியரை முறியடித்த பேதாதின் மகன் ஆதாத் அவனுடைய இடத்தில் அரசனானான். இவனுடைய பட்டணம் ஆவீத் எனப் பெயரிடப்பட்டது.
47 And Hadad died, —and there reigned in his stead, Samlah of Masrekah.
ஆதாத் இறந்தபின்பு அவனுடைய இடத்தில் மஸ்ரேக்கா என்னும் இடத்தைச் சேர்ந்த சம்லா அரசனானான்.
48 And Samlah died, —and there reigned in his stead, Shaul, of Rehoboth by the River.
சம்லா இறந்தபின்பு, ஆற்றின் அருகில் உள்ள ரெகொபோத் என்னுமிடத்தைச் சேர்ந்த சாவூல் அவனுடைய இடத்தில் அரசனானான்.
49 And Shaul died, —and there reigned in his stead, Baal-hanan, the son of Achbor.
சாவூல் இறந்தபின்பு அவனுடைய இடத்தில் அக்போரின் மகன் பாகால்கானான் அரசனானான்.
50 And Baal-hanan died, —and there reigned in his stead, Hadad, and, the name of his city, was Pai, —and, the name of his wife, was Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezahab.
பாகால்கானான் இறந்தபின்பு, அவனுடைய இடத்தில் ஆதாத் அரசனானான். இவனது பட்டணம் பாகு எனப் பெயரிடப்பட்டது. இவனது மனைவியின் பெயர் மெகேதபேல்; இவள் மத்ரேத்தின் மகளும் மேசகாபின் பேத்தியுமாவாள்.
51 And Hadad died. And there were chiefs of Edom: chief Timna, chief Aliah, chief Jetheth;
ஆதாத்தும் இறந்தான். ஏதோமின் பிரதானமானவர்கள்: திம்னா, அல்வா, ஏதேத்,
52 chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon;
அகோலிபாமா, ஏலா, பினோன்,
53 chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar;
கேனாஸ், தேமான், மிப்சார்,
54 chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These, were the chiefs of Edom.
மக்தியேல், ஈராம். இவர்களே ஏதோமின் வம்சத்தலைவர்கள்.
