9 And, the sons of Cush, Seba, and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raama, and Sabteca. And, the sons of Raamah, Sheba, and Dedan.

10 And, Cush, begat Nimrod, —he, began to be a mighty one in the earth.

11 And, Mizraim, begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

34 So then Abraham begat Isaac, —the sons of Isaac, were Esau and Israel.

35 the sons of Esau, Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah.

36 The sons of Eliphaz, Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.

37 The sons of Reuel, Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

38 And, the sons of Seir, Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, —and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.
De zonen van Seïr waren: Lotan. Sjobal, Sibon en Ana; verder Disjon, Éser en Disjan.
39 And, the sons of Lotan, Hori, and Homam, —and, Lotan’s sister, was Timna.
De zonen van Lotan waren Chori en Homam; de zuster van Lotan was Timna.
40 The sons of Shobal, Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi and Onam. And, the sons of Zibeon, Aiah and Anah.
De zonen van Sjobal waren: Aljan, Manáchat, Ebal, Sjefi en Onam. De zonen van Sibon waren Ajja en Ana.
41 The sons of Anah, Dishon, —and, the sons of Dishon, Hamran, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
De zoon van Ana was Disjon. De zonen van Disjon waren: Chamran, Esjban, Jitran en Keran.
42 The sons of Ezer, Bilhan, and Zaavan, Jaakan. The sons of Dishan, Uz and Aran.
De zonen van Éser waren: Bilhan, Zaäwan en Akan. De zonen van Disjan waren Oes en Aran.
43 Now, these, are the kings, who reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned a king of the sons of Israel, —Bela the son of Beor, and, the name of his city, was Dinhabah.
En dit zijn de koningen, die over het land Edom regeerden, eer er een koning heerste over de zonen Israëls. Béla, de zoon van Beor; zijn hofstad heette Dinhaba.
44 And Bela died, —and there reigned in his stead, Jobab son of Zerah, of Bozrah.

45 And Jobab died, —and there reigned in his stead, Husham, of the land of the Temanites.

46 And Husham died, —and there reigned in his stead, Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, and, the name of his city, was Avith.

47 And Hadad died, —and there reigned in his stead, Samlah of Masrekah.

48 And Samlah died, —and there reigned in his stead, Shaul, of Rehoboth by the River.
Na de dood van Samla regeerde Sjaoel uit Rechobot aan de rivier in zijn plaats.
49 And Shaul died, —and there reigned in his stead, Baal-hanan, the son of Achbor.
Na de dood van Sjaoel regeerde Báal-Chanan, de zoon van Akbor, in zijn plaats.
50 And Baal-hanan died, —and there reigned in his stead, Hadad, and, the name of his city, was Pai, —and, the name of his wife, was Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezahab.
Na de dood van Báal-Chanan regeerde Hadad in zijn plaats; zijn hofstad heette Paï; zijn vrouw heette Mehetabel, en was de dochter van Matred en kleindochter van Me-Zahab.
51 And Hadad died. And there were chiefs of Edom: chief Timna, chief Aliah, chief Jetheth;
Na de dood van Hadad waren er de volgende stamhoofden in Edom: die van Timna, Alja en Jetet,
52 chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon;
Oholibama, Ela en Pinon,
53 chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar;
Kenaz, Teman en Mibsar,
54 chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These, were the chiefs of Edom.
Magdiël en Iram. Dit waren dus de stamhoofden van Edom.
