< Titus 1 >
1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,
Paulo ntumwa wa Nnungu na ntumwa wa Yesu kilisito kwa haminia, panga bandu bake Nungu na hakili yake ya uhakika ya ileta aminia.
2 in hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before times eternal; (aiōnios )
Babile katika haminia ukoto wa milele wa Nungu juwa wechali baya ubuchu hatiaidi milele. (aiōnios )
3 but in his own seasons manifested his word in the message, wherewith I was intrusted according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
Kwa wakati wapangite. Hatiumukwa likowe liake katika jukumu mbeile nenga chimulia likowe liake. yatinibidi panganyo naipeilwe jukumu na Nnungu nkombochi witu.
4 to Titus, my true child after a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour.
Kwa tito mwana wangu kiukwli katika haminia kwitu, Neema, tuipatike uku witu buka kwa Nnungu tati bitu na Yesu kristu hatitukomboa twenga. Kwa sababu wenga natikuleka Krete.
5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that were wanting, and appoint elders in every city, as I gave thee charge;
Kwa sababu mambo uyabike vizuri gote gagabile bado kamilika natibika bandu mukanisa liak kwa kila neema ganikulekile wenga.
6 if any man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children that believe, who are not accused of riot or unruly.
Mzee wa kanisa kana habe nalikosa lioliote habe na nalume wa nwawa yumo, ywa bile na bana bakweli banga likupekelwa makowe kumbwali mundu.
7 For the bishop must be blameless, as God’s steward; not selfwilled, not soon angry, no brawler, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre;
Ni muimu kwa kiongosi, msimamisi wa nyumba ya Nnungu kana habe na lawama, kana habe mundu nduti, kana habe na nyonge, kana hanywe wimbi, kana habe nabulwe, kana habe natama.
8 but given to hospitality, a lover of good, soberminded, just, holy, temperate;
Habe mundu wa kalibicha bandu, ywapenda mema, ywabile na akili na nchima, ywa penda akihamwamini Nnungu, ywa itawala mwene.
9 holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able both to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict the gainsayers.
Ywa manyi kagayemelya mapandiso gaga pundisilwe ili awese kubayea moyo kwa mapundiso gana nnoga nakuagalambwa boti babakana.
10 For there are many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision,
Maana baba kana bananchima mno mno babo kotwike pita nikombe makoe gabe akilalo banda kuakomba na kubaindi bandu kumbu katika upotofu.
11 whose mouths must be stopped; men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.
Lasima kubakinya bhandu katibo babapundi gangali na gapaikanagaoni gangali faida na kuibomwana nyumba yoti.
12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, Cretans are alway liars, evil beasts, idle gluttons.
Mundu yumo, atibaya ywaabi na busara “Aakrete bai na uboso wangali mwaiso, anyatau manyama ganatari mkata ywange yukuta.”
13 This testimony is true. For which cause reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,
Aga ganikubakia ga-kweli, kwa iya ubakanikie kwa ngupu leka balongele ikoe ya kweli katika imani.
14 not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.
Wenga kana ujingie katika adithi ya ubonjo ya kiyaudi au amri ya bandu bo ikoeya kweli kuipanga ubonjo.
15 To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
Kwa boti baba pelekite ikowe yote mbeleteka. boti babile asapo bange amini utopo sakipeletike, kwa kuwa mawaso gabe na fikra yabe itichafuliwa.
16 They profess that they know God; but by their works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
Baipanga kumtanga Nnungu lakini kwa makowe gabe bana kumkana bembeni baasi na bangali tii awaku banda bonekalia kwa kikowe chochoti chana unoga.
