Romans 9
1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience bearing witness with me in the Holy Ghost,
൧ഞാൻ ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ സത്യം പറയുന്നു; ഞാൻ പറയുന്നത് ഭോഷ്കല്ല;
2 that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart.
൨എനിക്ക് വലിയ ദുഃഖവും ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഇടവിടാതെ നോവും ഉണ്ട് എന്നു എന്റെ മനസ്സാക്ഷി എനിക്ക് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിൽ സാക്ഷിയായിരിക്കുന്നു.
3 For I could wish that I myself were anathema from Christ for my brethren’s sake, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
൩ജഡപ്രകാരം എന്റെ വംശക്കാരായ എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർക്കുവേണ്ടി ഞാൻ തന്നേ ക്രിസ്തുവിനോട് വേർപെട്ട് ശാപഗ്രസ്തനാവാൻ ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കാമായിരുന്നു.
4 who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service [of God], and the promises;
൪അവർ യിസ്രായേല്യർ; പുത്രത്വവും തേജസ്സും ഉടമ്പടികളും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെ ദാനവും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആരാധനയും വാഗ്ദത്തങ്ങളും അവർക്കുണ്ട്;
5 whose are the fathers, and of whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
൫പിതാക്കന്മാരും അവർക്കുള്ളവർ തന്നെ; ജഡപ്രകാരം ക്രിസ്തുവും അവരിൽനിന്നല്ലോ ഉത്ഭവിച്ചത്; അവൻ സർവ്വത്തിനും മീതെ ദൈവമായി എന്നെന്നേക്കും വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ. ആമേൻ. (aiōn g165)
6 But [it is] not as though the word of God hath come to nought. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
൬ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വാഗ്ദത്തം വൃഥാവായിപ്പോയി എന്നല്ല; യിസ്രായേലിൽനിന്ന് ഉത്ഭവിച്ചവർ എല്ലാം യഥാർത്ഥമായി യിസ്രായേല്യർ എന്നും
7 neither, because they are Abraham’s seed, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
൭അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ സന്തതിയാകയാൽ എല്ലാവരും യഥാർത്ഥമായി അവന്റെ മക്കൾ എന്നും വരികയില്ല; “യിസ്ഹാക്കിൽനിന്നു ജനിക്കുന്നവർ നിന്റെ സന്തതി എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും” എന്നേയുള്ളു.
8 That is, it is not the children of the flesh that are children of God; but the children of the promise are reckoned for a seed.
൮അതായത്: ജഡപ്രകാരം ജനിച്ച മക്കൾ അല്ല ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മക്കൾ; വാഗ്ദത്തപ്രകാരം ജനിച്ച മക്കളെയത്രേ സന്തതി എന്നു എണ്ണുന്നത്.
9 For this is a word of promise, According to this season will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.
൯“ഈ സമയത്തേക്ക് ഞാൻ വരും; അപ്പോൾ സാറായ്ക്കു ഒരു മകൻ ഉണ്ടാകും” എന്നല്ലോ വാഗ്ദത്തവചനം.
10 And not only so; but Rebecca also having conceived by one, [even] by our father Isaac—
൧൦അതുമാത്രമല്ല, റിബെക്കായും നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് എന്ന ഏകനാൽ ഗർഭംധരിച്ചു,
11 for [the children] being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth,
൧൧കുട്ടികൾ ജനിക്കയോ ഗുണമാകട്ടെ ദോഷമാകട്ടെ ഒന്നും പ്രവർത്തിക്കയോ ചെയ്യുംമുമ്പേ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൻ പ്രകാരമുള്ള ദൈവനിർണ്ണയം പ്രവൃത്തികൾ നിമിത്തമല്ല വിളിച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം നിമിത്തംതന്നെ എന്നു വരേണ്ടതിന്:
12 it was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
൧൨“മൂത്തവൻ ഇളയവനെ സേവിക്കും” എന്നു അവളോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
13 Even as it is written, Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.
൧൩“ഞാൻ യാക്കോബിനെ സ്നേഹിച്ച് ഏശാവിനെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നെ.
14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
൧൪ആകയാൽ നാം എന്ത് പറയേണ്ടു? ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പക്കൽ അനീതി ഉണ്ടോ? ഒരുനാളും ഇല്ല.
15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.
൧൫“എനിക്ക് കരുണയുള്ളവനോട് കരുണ തോന്നുകയും എനിക്ക് കനിവുള്ളവനോട് കനിവ് തോന്നുകയും ചെയ്യും” എന്നു അവൻ മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that hath mercy.
൧൬അതുകൊണ്ട് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനാലുമല്ല, ഓടുന്നവനാലുമല്ല, കരുണ തോന്നുന്ന ദൈവത്താലത്രെ.
17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, For this very purpose did I raise thee up, that I might shew in thee my power, and that my name might be published abroad in all the earth.
൧൭“ഇതിനായിട്ട് തന്നേ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ നിർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്; നിന്നിൽ എന്റെ ശക്തി വെളിപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടതിനും എന്റെ നാമം സർവ്വഭൂമിയിലും പ്രസ്താവിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ടതിനും തന്നേ” എന്നു തിരുവെഴുത്തിൽ ഫറവോനോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
18 So then he hath mercy on whom he will, and whom he will he hardeneth.
൧൮അങ്ങനെ തനിക്കു മനസ്സുള്ളവനോട് അവന് കരുണ തോന്നുന്നു; തനിക്കു മനസ്സുള്ളവരെ അവൻ കഠിനരാക്കുന്നു.
19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he still find fault? For who withstandeth his will?
൧൯ആകയാൽ അവൻ പിന്നെ കുറ്റം കണ്ടുപിടിക്കുന്നത് എന്ത്? ആർ അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടത്തോട് എതിർത്തുനില്ക്കുന്നു? എന്നു നീ എന്നോട് ചോദിക്കും.
20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why didst thou make me thus?
൨൦അയ്യോ, മനുഷ്യാ, ദൈവത്തോട് പ്രത്യുത്തരം പറയുന്ന നീ ആർ? മനഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു മനഞ്ഞവനോടു: നീ എന്നെ ഇങ്ങനെ ചമച്ചത് എന്ത് എന്നു ചോദിക്കുമോ?
21 Or hath not the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
൨൧അല്ല, കുശവന് ഒരേ പിണ്ഡത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു പാത്രം വിശേഷ ഉപയോഗത്തിനും മറ്റൊരു പാത്രം ദിവസേനയുള്ള ഉപയോഗത്തിനും ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാൻ കളിമണ്ണിന്മേൽ അധികാരം ഇല്ലയോ?
22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering vessels of wrath fitted unto destruction:
൨൨എന്നാൽ ദൈവം തന്റെ കോപം കാണിക്കുവാനും ശക്തി വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുവാനും യെഹൂദന്മാരിൽനിന്നു മാത്രമല്ല,
23 and that he might make known the riches of his glory upon vessels of mercy, which he afore prepared unto glory,
൨൩ജാതികളിൽനിന്നും വിളിച്ചു തേജസ്സിനായി മുന്നൊരുക്കിയ കരുണാപാത്രങ്ങളായ നമ്മിൽ
24 [even] us, whom he also called, not from the Jews only, but also from the Gentiles?
൨൪തന്റെ തേജസ്സിന്റെ ധനം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചിട്ട് നാശയോഗ്യമായ കോപപാത്രങ്ങളെ വളരെ ദീർഘക്ഷമയോടെ സഹിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ എന്ത്?
25 As he saith also in Hosea, I will call that my people, which was not my people; And her beloved, which was not beloved.
൨൫“എന്റെ ജനമല്ലാത്തവരെ എന്റെ ജനം എന്നും, പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടവളല്ലാത്തവളെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടവൾ എന്നും ഞാൻ വിളിക്കും.
26 And it shall be, [that] in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, There shall they be called sons of the living God.
൨൬നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ജനമല്ല എന്നു അവരോട് പറഞ്ഞ ഇടത്തിൽ അവർ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മക്കൾ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും” എന്നു ഹോശേയാപുസ്തകത്തിലും അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ.
27 And Isaiah crieth concerning Israel, If the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant that shall be saved:
൨൭യെശയ്യാവോ യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കുറിച്ച്: “യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളുടെ എണ്ണം കടൽക്കരയിലെ മണൽപോലെ ആയിരുന്നാലും ശേഷിപ്പത്രേ രക്ഷിയ്ക്കപ്പെടൂ.
28 for the Lord will execute [his] word upon the earth, finishing it and cutting it short.
൨൮കർത്താവ് ഭൂമിയിൽ തന്റെ വചനം നിവർത്തിച്ചു ക്ഷണത്തിൽ തീർക്കും” എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്നു.
29 And, as Isaiah hath said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, We had become as Sodom, and had been made like unto Gomorrah.
൨൯“സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ കർത്താവ് നമുക്കു സന്തതിയെ ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചില്ലെങ്കിൽ നാം സൊദോമെപ്പോലെ ആകുമായിരുന്നു, ഗൊമോറയ്ക്ക് സദൃശമാകുമായിരുന്നു” എന്നു യെശയ്യാവ് മുമ്പുകൂട്ടി പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith:
൩൦ആകയാൽ നാം എന്ത് പറയേണ്ടു? നീതിയെ പിന്തുടരാത്ത ജാതികൾ നീതിപ്രാപിച്ചു, വിശ്വാസത്താലുള്ള നീതി തന്നേ.
31 but Israel, following after a law of righteousness, did not arrive at [that] law.
൩൧നീതിയുടെ പ്രമാണം പിന്തുടർന്ന യിസ്രായേലോ അതിങ്കൽ എത്തിയില്ല.
32 Wherefore? Because [they sought it] not by faith, but as it were by works. They stumbled at the stone of stumbling;
൩൨അതെന്തുകൊണ്ട്? എന്തുകൊണ്ടെന്നാൽ അവർ വിശ്വാസത്താലല്ല, പ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ അന്വേഷിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ അവർ ഇടർച്ചക്കല്ലിന്മേൽ തട്ടി ഇടറി:
33 even as it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence: And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame.
൩൩“ഇതാ, ഞാൻ സീയോനിൽ ഇടർച്ചക്കല്ലും തടങ്ങൽപാറയും വെയ്ക്കുന്നു; അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവൻ ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകയില്ല” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
