Romans 2
1 Wherefore thou art without excuse, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest dost practise the same things.
Portanto, és inexcusavel quando julgas, ó homem, quem quer que sejas, porque te condemnas a ti mesmo n'aquillo em que julgas o outro; pois tu, que julgas, fazes as mesmas coisas.
2 And we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against them that practise such things.
E bem sabemos que o juizo de Deus é segundo a verdade sobre os que taes coisas fazem.
3 And reckonest thou this, O man, who judgest them that practise such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
E tu, ó homem, que julgas os que fazem taes coisas, cuidas que, fazendo-as tu, escaparás ao juizo de Deus?
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
Ou desprezas tu as riquezas da sua benignidade, e paciencia e longanimidade, ignorando que a benignidade de Deus te leva ao arrependimento?
5 but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up for thyself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Mas, segundo a tua dureza e teu coração impenitente, enthesouras ira para o dia da ira e da manifestação do juizo de Deus;
6 who will render to every man according to his works:
O qual recompensará cada um segundo as suas obras;
7 to them that by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honour and incorruption, eternal life: (aiōnios g166)
A saber: a vida eterna aos que, com perseverança em fazer bem, procuram gloria, e honra e incorrupção; (aiōnios g166)
8 but unto them that are factious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, [shall be] wrath and indignation,
Mas a indignação e a ira aos que são contenciosos, e desobedientes á verdade e obedientes á injustiça.
9 tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that worketh evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek;
Tribulação e angustia sobre toda a alma do homem que obra o mal; primeiramente do judeo e tambem do grego:
10 but glory and honour and peace to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek:
Gloria, porém, e honra e paz a qualquer que obra o bem; primeiramente ao judeo e tambem ao grego;
11 for there is no respect of persons with God.
Porque, para com Deus, não ha accepção de pessoas.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned under law shall be judged by law;
Porque todos os que sem lei peccaram sem lei tambem perecerão; e todos os que sob a lei peccaram pela lei serão julgados.
13 for not the hearers of a law are just before God, but the doers of a law shall be justified:
Porque os que ouvem a lei não são justos diante de Deus: mas os que praticam a lei hão de ser justificados.
14 for when Gentiles which have no law do by nature the things of the law, these, having no law, are a law unto themselves;
Porque, quando os gentios, que não teem lei, fazem naturalmente as coisas que são da lei, não tendo estes lei, para si mesmos são lei
15 in that they shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness therewith, and their thoughts one with another accusing or else excusing [them];
Os quaes mostram a obra da lei escripta em seus corações, testificando juntamente a sua consciencia, e seus pensamentos, ora accusando-se, ora defendendo-se;
16 in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men, according to my gospel, by Jesus Christ.
No dia em que Deus ha de julgar os segredos dos homens, por Jesus Christo, segundo o meu evangelho.
17 But if thou bearest the name of a Jew, and restest upon the law, and gloriest in God,
Eis que tu que tens por sobrenome judeo, e repousas na lei, e te glorias em Deus;
18 and knowest his will, and approvest the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law,
E sabes a sua vontade e approvas as coisas excellentes, sendo instruido por lei;
19 and art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them that are in darkness,
E confias que és guia dos cegos, luz dos que estão em trevas,
20 a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having in the law the form of knowledge and of the truth;
Instruidor dos nescios, mestre de creanças, que tens a forma da sciencia e da verdade na lei;
21 thou therefore that teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?
Tu, pois, que ensinas a outro, não te ensinas a ti mesmo? Tu, que prégas que não se deve furtar, furtas?
22 thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou rob temples?
Tu, que dizes que não se deve adulterar, adulteras? Tu, que abominas os idolos, commettes sacrilegio?
23 thou who gloriest in the law, through thy transgression of the law dishonourest thou God?
Tu, que te glorias na lei, deshonras a Deus pela transgressão da lei?
24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you, even as it is written.
Porque, como está escripto, o nome de Deus é blasphemado entre os gentios por causa de vós.
25 For circumcision indeed profiteth, if thou be a doer of the law: but if thou be a transgressor of the law, thy circumcision is become uncircumcision.
Porque a circumcisão é, na verdade, proveitosa, se tu guardares a lei; porém, se tu és transgressor da lei, a tua circumcisão se torna em incircumcisão.
26 If therefore the uncircumcision keep the ordinances of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be reckoned for circumcision?
Pois, se a incircumcisão guarda os preceitos da lei, porventura a sua incircumcisão não será reputada como circumcisão?
27 and shall not the uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfill the law, judge thee, who with the letter and circumcision art a transgressor of the law?
E, a que por natureza é incircumcisão, se cumpre a lei, não te julgará porventura a ti, que pela letra e circumcisão és transgressor da lei?
28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Porque não é judeo o que o é exteriormente, nem é circumcisão a que o é exteriormente na carne
29 but he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Mas é judeo o que o é no interior, e circumcisão é a do coração, no espirito, não na letra: cujo louvor não provém dos homens, mas de Deus.
