Revelation 11
1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and one said, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
Da gab man mir ein Rohr, einem Stabe ähnlich, mit den Worten: "Steh auf und miß den Tempel Gottes und den Altar und die darin anbeten.
2 And the court which is without the temple leave without, and measure it not; for it hath been given unto the nations: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
Doch den Hof außerhalb des Tempels laß aus und miß ihn nicht! Er ist den Heiden preisgegeben; auf zweiundvierzig Monate zertreten sie die heilige Stadt.
3 And I will give unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Ich aber werde meinen beiden Zeugen es verleihen, daß sie eintausendzweihundertsechzig Tage lang in Bußgewändern prophezeien."
4 These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks, standing before the Lord of the earth.
Es sind dies die zwei Ölbäume und die zwei Leuchter, die vor dem Herrn der Erde stehen.
5 And if any man desireth to hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man shall desire to hurt them, in this manner must he be killed.
Wenn irgend jemand ihnen Leid antun wollte, so ginge Feuer aus von ihrem Munde und verzehrte ihre Feinde. Wer ihnen also Leid antun wollte, der müßte auf solche Weise sterben.
6 These have the power to shut the heaven, that it rain not during the days of their prophecy: and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth with every plague, as often as they shall desire.
Sie haben Macht, den Himmel zu verschließen, so daß kein Regen fällt in den Tagen ihrer Predigt; auch haben sie Macht über die Gewässer, sie in Blut zu verwandeln und auch die Erde mit jeder Plage hart zu treffen, sooft sie es nur wollen.
7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that cometh up out of the abyss shall make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them. (Abyssos g12)
Wenn sie ihr Zeugnis vollendet haben, dann wird das Tier, das aus dem Abgrund aufsteigt, mit ihnen Krieg beginnen, sie besiegen und sie töten. (Abyssos g12)
8 And their dead bodies [lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.
Ihre Leichen werden in der großen Stadt auf den Straßen liegen bleiben, die bildlich Sodoma und Ägypten heißt, wo auch ihr Herr gekreuzigt ward.
9 And from among the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations do [men] look upon their dead bodies three days and a half, and suffer not their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.
Menschen aus den Völkern, Stämmen, Sprachen und Geschlechtern werden ihre Leichen drei und einen halben Tag lang sehen; man wird ja ihre Leichen nicht in einem Grabe bergen lassen.
10 And they that dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and make merry; and they shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwell on the earth.
Die Erdbewohner werden über sie sich freuen und frohlocken und sich Geschenke senden; denn diese zwei Propheten machten einst den Erdbewohnern Qualen.
11 And after the three days and a half the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which beheld them.
Doch nach jenen dreieinhalb Tagen fuhr der Geist des Lebens von Gott in sie; sie standen wiederum auf ihren Füßen, und große Furcht befiel jene, die sie sahen.
12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they went up into heaven in the cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Sie hörten eine mächtige Stimme aus dem Himmel, die ihnen zurief: "Kommt hier herauf!" Auf einer Wolke stiegen sie zum Himmel empor, und ihre Feinde schauten ihnen nach.
13 And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell; and there were killed in the earthquake seven thousand persons: and the rest were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
Zur selben Stunde entstand ein großes Erdbeben; der zehnte Teil der Stadt fiel ein, und siebentausend Menschen wurden bei dem Beben getötet. Da fürchteten sich die anderen und gaben die Ehre dem Gott des Himmels.
14 The second Woe is past: behold, the third Woe cometh quickly.
Das zweite Weh ist vorüber, nun siehe, das dritte Weh kommt schnell.
15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there followed great voices in heaven, and they said, The kingdom of the world is become [the kingdom] of our Lord, and of his Christ: and he shall reign for ever and ever. (aiōn g165)
Der siebte Engel stieß in die Posaune. Da tönten laute Stimmen im Himmel, die sprachen: "Die Weltherrschaft ist unserem Herrn zuteil geworden und seinem Gesalbten, und er wird jetzt herrschen von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeiten." (aiōn g165)
16 And the four and twenty elders, which sit before God on their thrones, fell upon their faces and worshipped God,
Da fielen jene vierundzwanzig Ältesten, die vor Gott auf ihren Thronen sitzen, auf ihr Antlitz nieder; sie beteten Gott an
17 saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God, the Almighty, which art and which wast; because thou hast taken thy great power, and didst reign.
und sprachen: "Wir danken Dir, Herr, Gott, Du Allbeherrscher, der Du bist und warst, daß Du Deine große Macht an Dich genommen und Dich wieder als König gezeigt hast.
18 And the nations were wroth, and thy wrath came, and the time of the dead to be judged, and [the time] to give their reward to thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and to them that fear thy name, the small and the great; and to destroy them that destroy the earth.
Die Völker zürnten; da kam Dein Zorn, und so die Zeit, die Abgeschiedenen zu richten und Deinen Knechten ihren Lohn zu geben: den Propheten, den Heiligen, und denen, die Deinen Namen fürchten, den Kleinen und den Großen, und zu verderben, die die Erde so verderben."
19 And there was opened the temple of God that is in heaven; and there was seen in his temple the ark of his covenant; and there followed lightnings, and voices, and thunders, and an earthquake, and great hail.
Und im Himmel tat sich der Tempel Gottes auf, und es erschien die Lade seines Bundes in seinem Tempel. Es folgten Blitze, Tosen, Donnerschräge, Erdbeben und starker Hagel.
