Revelation 11
1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and one said, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
Danach ward mir ein Rohr gegeben, einem Meßstab gleich, und eine Stimme sprach: / Steh auf und miß den Tempel Gottes mit dem Altar und denen, die dort anbeten!
2 And the court which is without the temple leave without, and measure it not; for it hath been given unto the nations: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
Doch den äußeren Tempelvorhof laß aus und miß ihn nicht! Denn er ist den Heiden preisgegeben, und sie werden die heilige Stadt verwüsten zweiundvierzig Monate lang.
3 And I will give unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Ich will aber meinen zwei Zeugen Auftrag geben, und sie sollen weissagen zwölfhundertsechzig Tage lang, mit Säcken angetan.
4 These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks, standing before the Lord of the earth.
Dies sind die beiden Ölbäume und die beiden Leuchter, die vor dem Herrn der Erde stehen.
5 And if any man desireth to hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man shall desire to hurt them, in this manner must he be killed.
Will sich jemand an ihnen vergreifen, so geht Feuer aus ihrem Mund und verzehrt ihre Feinde. Ja, will sich jemand an ihnen vergreifen, der soll auf diese Weise getötet werden.
6 These have the power to shut the heaven, that it rain not during the days of their prophecy: and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth with every plague, as often as they shall desire.
Sie haben die Vollmacht, den Himmel zu verschließen, damit kein Regen falle in den Tagen ihrer Weissagung. Sie haben auch die Vollmacht, das Wasser in Blut zu verwandeln und die Erde zu schlagen mit allerlei Plagen, sooft sie wollen.
7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that cometh up out of the abyss shall make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them. (Abyssos g12)
Wenn sie aber ihr Zeugnis vollendet haben, dann wird das Tier, das aus dem Abgrund steigt, mit ihnen kämpfen, er wird sie überwinden und töten. (Abyssos g12)
8 And their dead bodies [lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.
Ihre Leichen werden liegen auf dem Marktplatz jener großen Stadt, die geistlich Sodom und Ägypten heißt, wo auch ihr Herr gekreuzigt worden ist.
9 And from among the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations do [men] look upon their dead bodies three days and a half, and suffer not their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.
Leute aus allen Völkern, Stämmen, Sprachen und Geschlechtern werden ihre Leichen drei und einen halben Tag daliegen sehen; aber sie werden nicht dulden, daß man ihre Leichen begrabe.
10 And they that dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and make merry; and they shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwell on the earth.
Denn die Erdbewohner freuen sich über ihren Tod und sind voll Jubel, ja sie werden einander Geschenke senden; denn diese beiden Propheten bereiteten den Erdbewohnern Qual.
11 And after the three days and a half the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which beheld them.
Nach der halben Woche aber kam ein Lebenshauch von Gott in sie: sie stellten sich auf ihre Füße, und große Furcht erfaßte alle, die sie sahen.
12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they went up into heaven in the cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Dann hörte ich, wie eine laute Stimme vom Himmel zu ihnen sprach: "Kommt hierher!" Da stiegen sie vor den Augen ihrer Feinde in einer Wolke zum Himmel auf.
13 And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell; and there were killed in the earthquake seven thousand persons: and the rest were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
Zu derselben Stunde geschah ein großes Erdbeben: der zehnte Teil der Stadt sank in Trümmer, und siebentausend Menschen fanden bei dem Erdbeben ihren Tod. Die Überlebenden aber wurden mit Furcht erfüllt und gaben dem Gott des Himmels die Ehre.
14 The second Woe is past: behold, the third Woe cometh quickly.
Das zweite Weh ist vorüber. Das dritte Weh kommt eilend.
15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there followed great voices in heaven, and they said, The kingdom of the world is become [the kingdom] of our Lord, and of his Christ: and he shall reign for ever and ever. (aiōn g165)
Nun stieß der siebente Engel in die Posaune. Da erschallten laute Stimmen im Himmel, die sprachen: / "Die Herrschaft über die Welt gehört jetzt unserem Herrn und seinem Gesalbten, und er wird König sein in alle Ewigkeit." (aiōn g165)
16 And the four and twenty elders, which sit before God on their thrones, fell upon their faces and worshipped God,
Da fielen die vierundzwanzig Ältesten, die in Gottes Gegenwart auf ihren Thronen sitzen, auf ihr Angesicht; sie beteten Gott an
17 saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God, the Almighty, which art and which wast; because thou hast taken thy great power, and didst reign.
und sprachen: / Wir danken dir, Herr Gott, du Allgewaltiger, der ist und der da war; denn du hast deine große Macht an dich genommen und herrschst nun als König.
18 And the nations were wroth, and thy wrath came, and the time of the dead to be judged, and [the time] to give their reward to thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and to them that fear thy name, the small and the great; and to destroy them that destroy the earth.
Die Völker sind in Wut geraten; darum ist dein Zorn entbrannt. Die Zeit ist da, da du die Toten richtest, den Lohn austeilst deinen Knechten, den Propheten, und den Heiligen samt allen, die deinen Nahmen fürchten, den Kleinen wie den Großen, und wo du über die Verderben bringst, die die Welt verderben."
19 And there was opened the temple of God that is in heaven; and there was seen in his temple the ark of his covenant; and there followed lightnings, and voices, and thunders, and an earthquake, and great hail.
Da öffnete sich der Tempel Gottes im Himmel, daß die Lade seines Bundes in seinem Tempel sichtbar wurde. Zugleich entstanden Blitze, laute Donnerschläge, Erdbeben und ein starkes Hagelwetter.
