Psalms 89
1 Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
Poučna pjesma. Ezrahijca Etana. O ljubavi Jahvinoj pjevat ću dovijeka, kroza sva koljena vjernost ću tvoju naviještati.
2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever; thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
Ti reče: “Zavijeke je sazdana ljubav moja!” U nebu utemelji vjernost svoju:
3 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant;
“Savez sklopih s izabranikom svojim, zakleh se Davidu, sluzi svome:
4 Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. (Selah)
tvoje potomstvo održat ću dovijeka, za sva koljena sazdat ću prijestolje tvoje.”
5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD; thy faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.
Nebesa veličaju čudesa tvoja, Jahve, i tvoju vjernost u zboru svetih.
6 For who in the skies can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty is like unto the LORD,
TÓa tko je u oblacima ravan Jahvi, tko li je Jahvi sličan među sinovima Božjim?
7 A God very terrible in the council of the holy ones, and to be feared above all them that are round about him?
Bog je strahovit u zboru svetih, velik i strašan svima oko sebe.
8 O LORD God of hosts, who is a mighty one, like unto thee, O JAH? and thy faithfulness is round about thee.
Jahve, Bože nad Vojskama, tko je kao ti? Silan si, Jahve, i vjernost te okružuje.
9 Thou rulest the pride of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.
Ti zapovijedaš bučnome moru, obuzdavaš silu valova njegovih;
10 Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with the arm of thy strength.
ti sasječe Rahaba i zgazi, snažnom mišicom rasu dušmane svoje.
11 The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.
Tvoja su nebesa i tvoja je zemlja, zemljin krug ti si sazdao i sve što je na njemu;
12 The north and the south, thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon rejoice in thy name.
sjever i jug ti si stvorio, Tabor i Hermon kliču imenu tvojemu.
13 Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
Tvoja je mišica snažna, ruka čvrsta, desnica dignuta.
14 Righteousness and judgment are the foundation of thy throne: mercy and truth go before thy face.
Pravda i Pravednost temelj su prijestolja tvoga, Ljubav i Istina koračaju pred tobom.
15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.
Blago narodu vičnu svetom klicanju, on hodi u sjaju lica tvojega, Jahve,
16 In thy name do they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness are they exalted.
u tvom se imenu raduje svagda i tvojom se pravdom ponosi.
17 For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.
Jer ti si ures moći njegove, po tvojoj milosti raste snaga naša.
18 For our shield belongeth unto the LORD; and our king to the Holy One of Israel.
Jer Jahve je štit naš, Svetac Izraelov kralj je naš.
19 Then thou spakest in vision to thy saints, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
Nekoć si u viđenju govorio pobožnima svojim: “Junaku stavih krunu na glavu, izabranika iz naroda izdigoh;
20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
nađoh Davida, slugu svoga, svetim ga svojim uljem pomazah,
21 With whom my hand shall be established; mine arm also shall strengthen him.
da ruka moja svagda ostane s njime i moja mišica da ga krijepi.
22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
Neće ga nadmudriti dušmanin, niti oboriti sin bezakonja.
23 And I will beat down his adversaries before him, and smite them that hate him.
Razbit ću pred njim protivnike njegove, pogubit ću mrzitelje njegove.
24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him; and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
Vjernost moja i dobrota bit će s njime i u mome imenu rast će mu snaga.
25 I will set his hand also on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.
Pružit ću njegovu ruku nad more, do Rijeke desnicu njegovu.
26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
On će me zvati: 'Oče moj! Bože moj i hridi spasa mojega.'
27 I also will make him [my] firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.
A ja ću ga prvorođencem učiniti, najvišim među kraljevima svijeta.
28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
Njemu ću sačuvati dovijeka naklonost svoju i Savez svoj vjeran.
29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
Njegovo ću potomstvo učiniti vječnim i prijestolje mu kao dan nebeski.
30 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
Ako li mu sinovi Zakon moj ostave i ne budu hodili po naredbama mojim,
31 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
ako li prestupe odredbe moje i ne budu čuvali zapovijedi mojih;
32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
šibom ću kazniti nedjelo njihovo, udarcima ljutim krivicu njihovu,
33 But my mercy will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
ali mu naklonosti svoje oduzeti neću niti ću prekršiti vjernosti svoje.
34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
Neću povrijediti Saveza svojega i neću poreći obećanja svoga.
35 Once have I sworn by my holiness; I will not lie unto David;
Jednom se zakleh svetošću svojom: Davida prevariti neću:
36 His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
potomstvo će njegovo ostati dovijeka, prijestolje njegovo preda mnom kao sunce,
37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, and [as] the faithful witness in the sky. (Selah)
ostat će dovijeka kao mjesec, vjerni svjedok na nebu.”
38 But thou hast cast off and rejected, thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.
A sada ti ga odbi i odbaci, silno se razgnjevi na pomazanika svoga.
39 Thou hast abhorred the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown [even] to the ground.
Prezre Savez sa slugom svojim i krunu njegovu do zemlje ponizi.
40 Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to rain.
Razvali sve zidine njegove, njegove utvrde u ruševine baci.
41 All that pass by the way spoil him: he is become a reproach to his neighbours.
Pljačkaju ga svi što naiđu, na ruglo je susjedima svojim.
42 Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
Podiže desnicu dušmana njegovih i obradova protivnike njegove.
43 Yea, thou turnest back the edge his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
Otupi oštricu mača njegova, u boju mu ne pomože.
44 Thou hast made his brightness to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
Njegovu sjaju kraj učini, njegovo prijestolje na zemlju obori.
45 The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. (Selah)
Skratio si dane mladosti njegove, sramotom ga pokrio.
46 How long, O LORD, wilt thou hid thyself for ever? [how long] shall thy wrath burn like fire?
TÓa dokle ćeš, Jahve? Zar ćeš se uvijek skrivati? Hoće li gnjev tvoj k'o oganj gorjeti?
47 O remember how short my time is: for what vanity hast thou created all the children of men!
Sjeti se kako je kratak život moj, kako si ljude prolazne stvorio!
48 What man is he that shall live and not see death, that shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Tko živ smrti vidjeti neće? Tko će od ruke Podzemlja dušu sačuvati? (Sheol h7585)
49 Lord, where are thy former mercies, which thou swarest unto David in thy faithfulness?
Gdje li je, Jahve, tvoja dobrota iskonska kojom se Davidu zakle na vjernost svoju?
50 Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom [the reproach of] all the mighty peoples:
Sjeti se, Jahve, sramote slugu svojih: u srcu nosim svu mržnju pogana
51 Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O LORD, wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.
s kojom nasrću dušmani tvoji, Jahve, s kojom nasrću na korake pomazanika tvoga.
52 Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
Blagoslovljen Jahve dovijeka! Tako neka bude. Amen!
