Psalms 81
1 For the Chief Musician; set to the Gittith. A Psalm of Asaph. Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.
Pour le chef musicien. Sur un instrument de Gath. Par Asaph. Chantez à voix haute à Dieu, notre force! Poussez un cri de joie vers le Dieu de Jacob!
2 Take up the psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.
Élevez une chanson, et apportez ici le tambourin, la lyre agréable avec la harpe.
3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, at the full moon, on our solemn feast day.
Sonnez la trompette à la nouvelle lune, à la pleine lune, le jour de notre fête.
4 For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
Car c'est une loi pour Israël, une ordonnance du Dieu de Jacob.
5 He appointed it in Joseph for testimony, when he went out over the land of Egypt: [where] I heard a language that I knew not.
Il l'a établi en Joseph comme une alliance, quand il a traversé le pays d'Égypte, J'ai entendu une langue que je ne connaissais pas.
6 I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were freed from the basket.
« J'ai enlevé son épaule du fardeau. Ses mains ont été libérées du panier.
7 Thou calledst in trouble, and I answered thee in the secret place of thunder; I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. (Selah)
Tu as appelé dans la détresse, et je t'ai délivré. Je t'ai répondu dans le lieu secret du tonnerre. Je t'ai testé aux eaux de Meribah. (Sélah)
8 Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wouldest hearken unto me!
« Écoute, mon peuple, et je te rendrai témoignage, Israël, si tu m'écoutais!
9 There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.
Il n'y aura pas de dieu étranger chez vous, et vous n'adorerez aucun dieu étranger.
10 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Je suis Yahvé, votre Dieu, qui vous a fait sortir du pays d'Égypte. Ouvrez grand votre bouche, et je la remplirai.
11 But my people hearkened not to my voice; and Israel would none of me.
Mais mon peuple n'a pas écouté ma voix. Israël ne voulait pas de moi.
12 So I let them go after the stubbornness of their heart, that they might walk in their own counsels.
Je les ai donc laissés aller selon l'obstination de leur cœur, pour qu'ils suivent leurs propres conseils.
13 Oh that my people would hearken unto me, that Israel would walk in my ways!
Oh, que mon peuple m'écoute! qu'Israël marche dans mes voies!
14 I should soon subdue their enemies, and turn my hand against their adversaries.
J'allais bientôt soumettre leurs ennemis, et je tournerai ma main contre leurs adversaires.
15 The haters of the LORD should submit themselves unto him: but their time should endure for ever.
Les ennemis de Yahvé s'effaceront devant lui, et leur punition durerait éternellement.
16 He should feed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I satisfy thee.
Mais il les aurait aussi nourris avec le meilleur du blé. Je te rassasierai avec le miel du rocher. »
