Psalms 63
1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee, in a dry and weary land, where no water is.
Psaume de David, lorsqu'il était dans le désert de Juda. Dieu, tu es mon Dieu! Je te cherche dès l'aurore; Mon âme a soif de toi, ma chair languit après toi. Dans une terre aride, desséchée, sans eau!
2 So have I looked upon thee in the sanctuary, to see thy power and thy glory.
Aussi t'ai-je contemplé dans le sanctuaire, Pour voir ta force et ta gloire;
3 For thy lovingkindness is better than life; my lips shall praise thee.
Car ta bonté vaut mieux que la vie. Mes lèvres chanteront tes louanges.
4 So will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
Oui, je te bénirai toute ma vie; C'est en invoquant ton nom que j'élèverai les mains.
5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips;
Mon âme est rassasiée comme de moelle et de graisse. Et c'est par des chants joyeux Que ma bouche célèbre tes louanges,
6 When I remember thee upon my bed, [and] meditate on thee in the night watches.
Quand je me souviens de toi sur ma couche. Et que tu occupes mes pensées pendant les veilles de la nuit.
7 For thou hast been my help, and in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
Car tu as été mon secours: Aussi entonnerai-je des chants joyeux à l'ombre de tes ailes.
8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
Mon âme s'attache à toi pour te suivre. Et ta main droite me soutient.
9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
Ils courent à leur perte, ceux qui en veulent à ma vie. Ils descendront dans les abîmes les plus profonds de la terre.
10 They shall be given over to the power of the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
Ils seront livrés au tranchant de l'épée; Ils seront la proie des chacals.
11 But the king shall rejoice in God: every one that sweareth by him shall glory; for the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
Mais le roi se réjouira en Dieu; Tous ceux qui l'invoquent dans leurs serments Seront dans l'allégresse, Tandis que la bouche des menteurs sera fermée.
