Psalms 51
1 For the Chief Musician. A psalm of David: when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness; according to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
聖歌隊の指揮者によってうたわせたダビデの歌、これはダビデがバテセバに通った後預言者ナタンがきたときによんだもの 神よ、あなたのいつくしみによって、わたしをあわれみ、あなたの豊かなあわれみによって、わたしのもろもろのとがをぬぐい去ってください。
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
わたしの不義をことごとく洗い去り、わたしの罪からわたしを清めてください。
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
わたしは自分のとがを知っています。わたしの罪はいつもわたしの前にあります。
4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in thy sight: that thou mayest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
わたしはあなたにむかい、ただあなたに罪を犯し、あなたの前に悪い事を行いました。それゆえ、あなたが宣告をお与えになるときは正しく、あなたが人をさばかれるときは誤りがありません。
5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
見よ、わたしは不義のなかに生れました。わたしの母は罪のうちにわたしをみごもりました。
6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
見よ、あなたは真実を心のうちに求められます。それゆえ、わたしの隠れた心に知恵を教えてください。
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
ヒソプをもって、わたしを清めてください、わたしは清くなるでしょう。わたしを洗ってください、わたしは雪よりも白くなるでしょう。
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
わたしに喜びと楽しみとを満たし、あなたが砕いた骨を喜ばせてください。
9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
み顔をわたしの罪から隠し、わたしの不義をことごとくぬぐい去ってください。
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
神よ、わたしのために清い心をつくり、わたしのうちに新しい、正しい霊を与えてください。
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
わたしをみ前から捨てないでください。あなたの聖なる霊をわたしから取らないでください。
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation: and uphold me with a free spirit.
あなたの救の喜びをわたしに返し、自由の霊をもって、わたしをささえてください。
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
そうすればわたしは、とがを犯した者にあなたの道を教え、罪びとはあなたに帰ってくるでしょう。
14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation; [and] my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
神よ、わが救の神よ、血を流した罪からわたしを助け出してください。わたしの舌は声高らかにあなたの義を歌うでしょう。
15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
主よ、わたしのくちびるを開いてください。わたしの口はあなたの誉をあらわすでしょう。
16 For thou delightest not in sacrifice; else would I give it: thou hast no pleasure in burnt offering.
あなたはいけにえを好まれません。たといわたしが燔祭をささげてもあなたは喜ばれないでしょう。
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
神の受けられるいけにえは砕けた魂です。神よ、あなたは砕けた悔いた心をかろしめられません。
18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
あなたのみこころにしたがってシオンに恵みを施し、エルサレムの城壁を築きなおしてください。
19 Then shalt thou delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, in burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
その時あなたは義のいけにえと燔祭と、全き燔祭とを喜ばれるでしょう。その時あなたの祭壇に雄牛がささげられるでしょう。
