< Psalms 47 >
1 For the Chief Musician; a Psalm of the sons of Korah. O clap your hands, all ye peoples; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
(Til sangmesteren. Af Koras sønner. En salme.) Alle Folkeslag, klap i Hænderne, bryd ud i jublende Lovsang for Gud!
2 For the LORD Most High is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
Thi HERREN, den Højeste, er frygtelig, en Konge stor over hele Jorden.
3 He shall subdue the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet.
Han bøjede Folkefærd under os og Folkeslag under vor Fod;
4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. (Selah)
han udvalgte os vor Arvelod, Jakob hans elskedes Stolthed. (Sela)
5 God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Gud steg op under Jubel, HERREN under Homets Klang.
6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
Syng, ja syng for Gud, syng, ja syng for vor Konge;
7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
thi han er al Jordens Konge, syng en Sang for Gud.
8 God reigneth over the nations: God sitteth upon his holy throne.
Gud har vist, han er Folkenes Konge, på sin hellige Trone har Gud taget Sæde.
9 The princes of the peoples are gathered together [to be] the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God; he is greatly exalted.
Folkenes Stormænd samles med Folket, der tilhører Abrahams Gud; thi Guds er Jordens Skjolde, højt ophøjet er han!
