< Psalms 44 >
1 For the Chief Musician; [a Psalm] of the sons of Korah. Maschil. We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the days of old.
2 Thou didst drive out the nations with thy hand, and plantedst them in; thou didst afflict the peoples, and didst spread them abroad.
Ou menm, avèk pwòp men Ou, Ou te chase mete nasyon yo deyò, men Ou te plante yo. Ou te foule yo anba. Ou te aflije yo, Ou te gaye yo toupatou.
3 For they gat not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
Konsa, se pa ak pwòp nepe pa yo ke yo te posede peyi a, ni se pa pwòp bra yo ki te sove yo, men se men dwat Ou avèk bra Ou, ak limyè prezans Ou an, akoz Ou te bay yo favè.
4 Thou art my King, O God: command deliverance for Jacob.
Se Ou menm ki Wa m, O Bondye. Òdone viktwa pou Jacob.
5 Through thee will we push down our adversaries: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
Ak pouvwa Ou menm, nou va pouse fè advèsè nou fè bak; Nan non Ou, nou va pile fè desann (sila) ki leve kont nou yo.
6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
Paske mwen p ap mete konfyans nan banza mwen, ni se pa nepe m k ap sove mwen.
7 But thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put them to shame that hate us.
8 In God have we made our boast all the day long, and we will give thanks unto thy name for ever. (Selah)
Nan Bondye, nou te louwe tout lajounen. Nou va bay remèsiman a non Ou jis pou tout tan.
9 But now thou hast cast [us] off, and brought us to dishonour; and goest not forth with our hosts.
Alò, koulye a, Ou rejte nou, e mennen nou nan gwo wont. Ou pa sòti ankò avèk lame nou yo.
10 Thou makest us to turn back from the adversary: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.
Ou fè nou vire fè bak devan advèsè a, epi (sila) ki rayi nou yo fè piyaj pou kont yo.
11 Thou hast given us like sheep [appointed] for meat; and hast scattered us among the nations.
12 Thou sellest thy people for nought, and hast not increased [thy wealth] by their price.
Ou vann pèp Ou bon mache e Ou pa fè pwofi nan vant lan.
13 Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
14 Thou makest us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
Ou fè nou tounen yon vye mò pami nasyon yo, Yon rizib ki fè moun ri pami pèp yo.
15 All the day long is my dishonour before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
16 For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and the avenger.
Akoz vwa a (sila) ki fè m repwòch e ki meprize mwen, akoz prezans lènmi an avèk vanjè a.
17 All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.
Tout sa gen tan rive sou nou, men nou pa te bliye Ou, ni nou pa t aji nan manti selon akò Ou a.
18 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;
Kè nou pa t vire fè bak, ni pa nou yo pa t varye soti nan chemen Ou.
19 That thou hast sore broken us in the place of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
Malgre, Ou te kraze nou nan landwa chen mawon yo, e te kouvri nou avèk lonbraj lanmò a.
20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange god;
Si nou te bliye non a Bondye nou an, oswa lonje men nou vè yon lòt dye etranje,
21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
èske Bondye pa ta dekouvri sa a? Paske Li konnen tout sekrè a kè yo.
22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
Men pou lakoz a Ou menm, nou vin touye tout lajounen. Nou konsidere tankou mouton k ap rive labatwa.
23 Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast [us] not off for ever.
Leve Ou menm! Poukisa Ou ap dòmi, O SENYÈ? Leve nan dòmi! Pa rejte nou nèt.
24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
Poukisa Ou kache figi Ou e bliye ke n ap soufri e oprime?
25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
Paske nanm nou te neye jis rive nan pousyè. Kò nou kole jis rive atè.
26 Rise up for our help, and redeem us for thy lovingkindness’ sake.
Leve monte! Bay nou sekou! Rachte nou pou koz lanmou dous Ou a.
