< Psalms 4 >

1 For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. A Psalm of David. Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness; thou hast set me at large [when I was] in distress: have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.
Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he Nekina, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ‌ʻO kau ka kole, fanongo mai kiate au, ʻE ʻOtua ʻo ʻeku māʻoniʻoni: naʻa ke halahalaʻi au mei he mamahi; ke ke ʻaloʻofa mai kiate au, pea fanongo ki heʻeku lotu.
2 O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be turned into dishonour? [how long] will ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood? (Selah)
‌ʻAe ngaahi foha ʻoe tangata, ʻe ngata ʻafē hoʻomou liliu hoku nāunau ko e meʻa fakamā? ʻe ngata ʻafē hoʻomou ʻofa ki he meʻa vaʻinga pe, ʻo kumi ki he loi? (Sila)
3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.
Ka mou ʻilo kuo vaheʻi ʻe Sihova maʻana ʻaia ʻoku angalelei: ʻe fanongo ʻe Sihova ʻo kau ka kole kiate ia.
4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. (Selah)
Mou manavahē, pea ʻoua naʻa fai angahala: fakakaukau mo homou loto ʻi homou mohenga, pea mou fakalongo pe. (Sila)
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
Feilaulau ʻaki ʻae ngaahi feilaulau māʻoniʻoni, pea mou falala kia Sihova.
6 Many there be that say, Who will shew us [any] good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.
‌ʻOku pehē ʻe he tokolahi, “Ko hai te ne fakahā ha lelei kiate kitautolu?” ʻE Sihova, ke ke hiki hake kiate kimautolu ʻae maama ʻo ho fofonga.
7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than [they have] when their corn and their wine are increased.
Kuo ke ʻai ki hoku loto ʻae fiefia lahi hake ʻi he fiefia ʻi he kuonga naʻe tupu ʻo lahi ai ʻenau uite mo e uaine.
8 In peace will I both lay me down and sleep: for thou, LORD, alone makest me dwell in safety.
Te u tokoto hifo ʻi he fiemālie, ʻo mohe: he ko koe pē, ʻE Sihova, ʻoku ke pule ke u nofo lelei.
