Psalms 36
1 For the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David the servant of the LORD. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, There is no fear of God before his eyes.
Ein Psalm Davids, des HERRN Knechts, vorzusingen. Es ist von Grund meines Herzens von der Gottlosen Wesen gesprochen, daß keine Gottesfurcht bei ihnen ist.
2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, that his iniquity shall not be found out and be hated.
Sie schmücken sich untereinander selbst, daß sie ihre böse Sache fördern und andere verunglimpfen.
3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise [and] to do good.
Alle ihre Lehre ist schädlich und erlogen; sie lassen sich auch nicht weisen, daß sie Gutes täten,
4 He deviseth iniquity upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.
sondern sie trachten auf ihrem Lager nach Schaden und stehen fest auf dem bösen Wege und scheuen kein Arges.
5 Thy lovingkindness, O LORD, is in the heavens; thy faithfulness [reacheth] unto the skies.
HERR, deine Güte reicht, soweit der Himmel ist, und deine Wahrheit, soweit die Wolken gehen.
6 Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
Deine Gerechtigkeit stehet wie die Berge Gottes und dein Recht wie große Tiefe. HERR, du hilfst Menschen und Vieh.
7 How precious is thy lovingkindness, O God! and the children of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings.
Wie teuer ist deine Güte, Gott, daß Menschenkinder unter dem Schatten deiner Flügel trauen!
8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
Sie werden trunken von den reichen Gütern deines Hauses, und du tränkest sie mit Wollust als mit einem Strom.
9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
Denn bei dir ist die lebendige Quelle, und in deinem Licht sehen wir das Licht.
10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
Breite deine Güte über die, die dich kennen, und deine Gerechtigkeit über die Frommen.
11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
Laß mich nicht von den Stolzen untertreten werden, und die Hand der Gottlosen stürze mich nicht,
12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.
