Psalms 20

1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The LORD answer thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob set thee up on high;

O Senhor te oiça no dia da angustia, o nome do Deus de Jacob te proteja.

2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;

Envie-te soccorro desde o seu sanctuario, e te sustenha desde Sião.

3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; (Selah)

Lembre-se de todas as tuas offertas, e acceite os teus holocaustos (Selah)

4 Grant thee thy heart’s desire, and fulfill all thy counsel.

Conceda-te conforme ao teu coração, e cumpra todo o teu conselho.

5 We will triumph in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfill all thy petitions.

Nós nos alegraremos pela tua salvação, e em nome do nosso Deus arvoraremos pendões; cumpra o Senhor todas as tuas petições.

6 Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he wilt answer him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

Agora sei que o Senhor salva ao seu ungido: elle o ouvirá desde o seu sancto céu, com a força salvadora da sua mão direita.

7 Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses: but we will make mention of the name of the LORD our God.

Uns confiam em carros e outros em cavallos, mas nós faremos menção do nome do Senhor nosso Deus.

8 They are bowed down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

Uns encurvam-se e caem, mas nós nos levantamos e estamos de pé.

9 Save, LORD: let the King answer us when we call.

Salva-nos, Senhor, oiça-nos o Rei quando clamarmos.
