Psalms 19
1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Os céus declararam a gloria de Deus e o firmamento annuncia a obra das suas mãos.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
Um dia faz declaração a outro dia, e uma noite mostra sabedoria a outra noite.
3 There is no speech nor language; their voice cannot be heard.
Não ha linguagem nem falla onde se não oiçam as suas vozes.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
A sua linha se estende por toda a terra, e as suas palavras até ao fim do mundo. N'elles poz uma tenda para o sol,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run his course.
O qual é como um noivo que sae do seu thalamo, e se alegra como um heroe, a correr o seu caminho.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
A sua saida é desde uma extremidade dos céus, e o seu curso até ás outras extremidades d'elles, e nada se esconde ao seu calor.
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
A lei do Senhor é perfeita, e refrigera a alma: o testemunho do Senhor é fiel, e dá sabedoria aos simplices.
8 The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Os preceitos do Senhor são rectos e alegram o coração: o mandamento do Senhor é puro, e allumia os olhos
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true, [and] righteous altogether.
O temor do Senhor é limpo, e permanece eternamente: os juízos do Senhor são verdadeiros e justos juntamente.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Mais desejaveis são do que o oiro, sim, do que muito oiro fino; e mais doces do que o mel e o licor dos favos.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: in keeping of them there is great reward.
Tambem por elles é admoestado o teu servo; e em os guardar ha grande recompensa.
12 Who can discern [his] errors? clear thou me from hidden [faults].
Quem pode entender os seus erros? expurga-me tu dos que me são occultos.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous [sins]; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be perfect, and I shall be clear from great transgression.
Tambem das soberbas guarda o teu servo, para que se não assenhoreiem de mim: então serei sincero, e ficarei limpo de grande transgressão.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my rock, and my redeemer.
Sejam agradaveis as palavras da minha bocca e a meditação do meu coração perante a tua face, Senhor, Rocha minha e Libertador meu
