< Psalms 141 >
1 A Psalm of David. LORD, I have called upon thee; make haste unto me: give ear unto my voice, when I call unto thee.
Ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ʻE Sihova, ʻoku ou tangi kiate koe: ke ke haʻu vave kiate au; fakafanongo ki hoku leʻo, ʻo kau ka tangi kiate koe.
2 Let my prayer be set forth as incense before thee; the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
Ke aʻu atu ʻeku lotu ki ho ʻao ʻo hangē ko e meʻa namu kakala; mo e hiki hake ʻo hoku nima ʻo hangē ko e feilaulau ʻoe efiafi.
3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my tips.
ʻE Sihova, fakanofo ʻae leʻo ki hoku ngutu; tauhi ʻae matapā ʻo hoku loungutu.
4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to be occupied in deeds of wickedness with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.
ʻOua naʻa ueʻi hoku loto ki ha meʻa kovi ʻe taha, ke fai ʻae ngaahi ngāue kovi mo e kau tangata ʻoku fai kovi: pea ʻoua naʻa tuku ke u kai ʻi heʻenau ngaahi meʻa lelei.
5 Let the righteous smite me, [it shall be] a kindness; and let him reprove me, [it shall be as] oil upon the head; let not my head refuse it: for even in their wickedness shall my prayer continue.
Ke taaʻi au ʻe he angatonu; pea ko e ʻofa ia: pea tuku ke ne valokiʻi au; ko e lolo lelei ia, ʻaia ʻe ʻikai foa ai hoku ʻulu: he ko ʻeku lotu foki ʻe fai ia ʻi heʻenau ngaahi mamahi.
6 Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock; and they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.
ʻOka hinga ʻenau kau fakamaau ʻi he ngaahi potu tokatāmaki, tenau fanongo ki heʻeku ngaahi lea; he ʻoku melie ia.
7 As when one ploweth and cleaveth the earth, our bones are scattered at the grave’s mouth. (Sheol )
Kuo movetevete hotau ngaahi hui ʻi he ngutu ʻoe faʻitoka, ʻo hangē ko e taaʻi ʻo mafahi ʻe he taha ʻae ʻakau ʻi he funga ʻoe fonua. (Sheol )
8 For mine eyes are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee do I put my trust; leave not my soul destitute.
Ka ʻoku hanga hoku mata kiate koe, ʻE Sihova ko e ʻEiki: ʻoku ou falala kiate koe; ʻoua naʻa ke siʻaki hoku laumālie.
9 Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, and from the gins of the workers of iniquity.
Taʻofi au mei he ngaahi tauhele kuo nau ʻai kiate au, mo e ngaahi meʻa fakauʻu, ʻae kakai fai kovi.
10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.
Tuku ke tō ʻae angahala ki he ngaahi kupenga ʻanautolu, ʻi he lolotonga ʻo ʻeku hao mei ai.
