Psalms 129

1 A Song of Ascents. Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth up, let Israel now say;

都もうでの歌 今イスラエルは言え、「彼らはわたしの若い時から、ひどくわたしを悩ました。

2 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth up: yet they have not prevailed against me.

彼らはわたしの若い時から、ひどくわたしを悩ました。しかしわたしに勝つことができなかった。

3 The plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows.

耕す者はわたしの背の上をたがやして、そのうねみぞを長くした」と。

4 The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

主は正しくいらせられ、悪しき者のなわを断ち切られた。

5 Let them be ashamed and turned backward, all they that hate Zion.

シオンを憎む者はみな、恥を得て、退くように。

6 Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:

彼らを、育たないさきに枯れる屋根の草のようにしてください。

7 Wherewith the reaper filleth not his hand, nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

これを刈る者はその手に満たず、これをたばねる者はそのふところに満たない。

8 Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you; we bless you in the name of the LORD.

かたわらを過ぎる者は、「主の恵みがあなたの上にあるように。われらは主のみ名によってあなたがたを祝福する」と言わない。
