Psalms 127

1 A Song of Ascents; of Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

ശലമോന്റെ ഒരു ആരോഹണഗീതം. യഹോവ വീടു പണിയാതിരുന്നാൽ പണിയുന്നവർ വൃഥാ അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ പട്ടണം കാക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ കാവല്ക്കാരൻ വൃഥാ ജാഗരിക്കുന്നു.

2 It is vain for you that ye rise up early, and so late take rest, and eat the bread of toil: [for] so he giveth unto his beloved sleep.

നിങ്ങൾ അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേല്ക്കുന്നതും നന്നാ താമസിച്ചു കിടപ്പാൻ പോകുന്നതും കഠിനപ്രയത്നം ചെയ്തു ഉപജീവിക്കുന്നതും വ്യർത്ഥമത്രേ; തന്റെ പ്രിയന്നോ, അവൻ അതു ഉറക്കത്തിൽ കൊടുക്കുന്നു.

3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb is [his] reward.

മക്കൾ, യഹോവ നല്കുന്ന അവകാശവും ഉദരഫലം, അവൻ തരുന്ന പ്രതിഫലവും തന്നേ.

4 As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth.

വീരന്റെ കയ്യിലെ അസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ എങ്ങനെയോ അങ്ങനെയാകുന്നു യൗവനത്തിലെ മക്കൾ.

5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, when they speak with their enemies in the gate.

അവയെക്കൊണ്ടു തന്റെ ആവനാഴിക നിറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പുരുഷൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ; നഗരവാതില്ക്കൽവെച്ചു ശത്രുക്കളോടു സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അങ്ങനെയുള്ളവർ ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകയില്ല.
