Psalms 120

1 A Song of Ascents. In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he answered me.

都もうでの歌 わたしが悩みのうちに、主に呼ばわると、主はわたしに答えられる。

2 Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, [and] from a deceitful tongue.

「主よ、偽りのくちびるから、欺きの舌から、わたしを助け出してください」。

3 What shall be given unto thee, and what shall be done more unto thee, thou deceitful tongue?

欺きの舌よ、おまえに何が与えられ、何が加えられるであろうか。

4 Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

ますらおの鋭い矢と、えにしだの熱い炭とである。

5 Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

わざわいなるかな、わたしはメセクにやどり、ケダルの天幕のなかに住んでいる。

6 My soul hath long had her dwelling with him that hateth peace.

わたしは久しく平安を憎む者のなかに住んでいた。

7 I am [for] peace: but when I speak, they are for war.

わたしは平安を願う、しかし、わたしが物言うとき、彼らは戦いを好む。
