< Psalms 114 >

1 When Israel went forth out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
Ko je izhajal Izrael iz Egipta, družina Jakobova izmed ljudstva tujega jezika:
2 Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.
Bil je Juda svetišče njegovo, Izrael gospostvo njegovo.
3 The sea saw it, and fled; Jordan was driven back.
Morje samo je videlo in bežalo, Jordan sam se je obrnil nazaj.
4 The mountains skipped like rams, the little hills like young sheep.
Sami hribi so poskakovali kakor ovni, kakor mlada jagnjeta griči.
5 What aileth thee, O thou sea, that thou fleest? thou Jordan, that thou turnest back?
Kaj ti je bilo, morje, da si bežalo? o Jordan, da si se obrnil nazaj?
6 Ye mountains, that ye skip like rams; ye little hills, like young sheep?
O hribi, zakaj bi poskakovali kakor ovni? griči kakor jagnjeta mlada?
7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
Pred obličjem Gospodovim potresi se zemlja; pred obličjem Boga Jakobovega,
8 Which turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
Kateri izpremeni samo skalo v stoječo vodo; kremenje v studenec vodâ.
