Psalms 109
1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;
Przewodnikowi chóru. Psalm Dawida. Boże mojej chwały, nie milcz;
2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit have they opened against me: they have spoken unto me with a lying tongue.
Bo otworzyły się przeciwko mnie usta niegodziwego i usta podstępnego; mówili przeciwko mnie językiem kłamliwym;
3 They compassed me about also with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.
Otoczyli mnie słowami nienawiści i walczą przeciwko mnie bez przyczyny.
4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I [give myself unto] prayer.
Sprzeciwiają mi się w zamian za moją miłość, choć ja się [za nich] modliłem.
5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
Odpłacają mi złem za dobro i nienawiścią za moją miłość.
6 Set thou a wicked man over him: and let an adversary stand at his right hand.
Postaw nad nim niegodziwego, a szatan niech stoi po jego prawicy.
7 When he is judged, let him come forth guilty; and let his prayer be turned into sin.
Gdy stanie przed sądem, niech wyjdzie potępiony, a jego modlitwa niech zamieni się w grzech.
8 Let his days be few; [and] let another take his office.
Niech jego dni będą krótkie, a jego urząd niech przejmie inny.
9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
Niech jego dzieci będą sierotami, a jego żona wdową.
10 Let his children be vagabonds, and beg; and let them seek [their bread] out of their desolate places.
Niech jego dzieci będą tułaczami i żebrzą, niech żebrzą [z dala] od swoich opustoszałych miejsc.
11 Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let strangers make spoil of his labour.
Niech lichwiarz przejmie wszystko, co ma, a obcy niech rozgrabią [owoc] jego pracy.
12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him; neither let there be any to have pity on his fatherless children.
Niech nie będzie nikogo, kto by mu okazał miłosierdzie; niech nie będzie nikogo, kto by się zlitował nad jego sierotami.
13 Let his posterity be cut off; in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
Niech jego potomkowie zostaną wykorzenieni, niech ich imię zginie w drugim pokoleniu.
14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
Niech PAN pamięta nieprawość jego przodków, a grzech jego matki niech nie będzie zgładzony.
15 Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
Niech będą zawsze przed PANEM, aż wykorzeni z ziemi pamięć o nich;
16 Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, and the broken in heart, to slay [them].
Dlatego że nie pamiętał, by okazać miłosierdzie, ale prześladował człowieka nędznego i ubogiego, a strapionego w sercu chciał zabić.
17 Yea, he loved cursing, and it came unto him; and he delighted not in blessing, and it was far from him.
Skoro umiłował przekleństwo, niech na niego spadnie; [skoro] nie chciał błogosławieństwa, niech się od niego oddali.
18 He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment, and it came into his inward parts like water, and like oil into his bones. Let it be unto him as the raiment
Ubierał się w przekleństwo jak w szatę, więc niech wejdzie jak woda do jego wnętrzności i jak oliwa do jego kości.
19 wherewith he covereth himself, and for the girdle wherewith he is girded continually.
Niech mu będzie jak płaszcz, który go okrywa, i jak pas, który go zawsze opasuje.
20 This is the reward of mine adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against my soul.
Taka niech będzie zapłata od PANA dla moich przeciwników i tych, którzy źle mówią przeciwko mojej duszy.
21 But deal thou with me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name’s sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me,
Ale ty, BOŻE, Panie, ujmij się za mną przez wzgląd na twoje imię; ocal mnie, bo wielkie jest twoje miłosierdzie.
22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
[Jestem] bowiem ubogi i nędzny, a moje serce we mnie jest zranione.
23 I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust.
Niknę jak cień, który się chyli, strząsają mnie jak szarańczę.
24 My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.
Moje kolana słabną od postu, a moje ciało wychudło bez tłuszczu.
25 I am become also a reproach unto them: when they see me, they shake their head.
Stałem się też dla nich pośmiewiskiem; [gdy] mnie widzą, kiwają głowami.
26 Help me, O LORD my God; O save me according to thy mercy:
Wspomóż mnie, PANIE, mój Boże; wybaw mnie według swego miłosierdzia;
27 That they may know that this is thy hand; [that] thou, LORD, hast done it.
Aby mogli poznać, że to twoja ręka; że ty, PANIE, to uczyniłeś.
28 Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, they shall be ashamed, but thy servant shall rejoice.
Niech oni przeklinają, ale ty błogosław; [gdy] powstają, niech będą zawstydzeni, a twój sługa niech się weseli.
29 Let mine adversaries be clothed with dishonour, and let them cover themselves with their own shame as with a mantle.
Niech moi przeciwnicy okryją się hańbą i niech się okryją własnym wstydem jak płaszczem.
30 I will give great thanks unto the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.
Będę wielce wysławiał PANA swymi ustami i pośród tłumu będę go chwalić;
31 For he shall stand at the right hand of the needy, to save him from them that judge his soul.
Bo staje po prawicy nędznego, aby go wybawić od tych, którzy osądzają jego duszę.
