< Proverbs 9 >

1 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
Amagezi gazimbye ennyumba yaago, gagizimbidde ku mpagi musanvu.
2 She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
Gategese ennyama yaago ne wayini waago; gategese ekijjulo.
3 She hath sent forth her maidens, she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
Gatumye abawala abaweereza bakoowoolere mu bifo ebigulumivu nti,
4 Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that is void of understanding, she saith to him,
“Buli atalina kutegeera akyameko wano!” Eri abo abatalina magezi gabagamba nti,
5 Come, eat ye of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
“Mujje mulye ku mmere yange era munywe ne ku nvinnyo gwe ntabudde.
6 Leave off, ye simple ones, and live; and walk in the way of understanding.
Mulekeraawo obutaba na kutegeera mubeere balamu, era mutambulire mu kkubo ly’okumanya.”
7 He that correcteth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that reproveth a wicked man [getteth] himself a blot.
Oyo anenya omunyoomi ayolekera kuvumwa, n’oyo abuulirira omukozi w’ebibi yeeretera kuvumibwa.
8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: reprove a wise man, and he will love thee.
Tonenyanga munyoomi, aleme okukukyawa, naye nenya ow’amagezi naye anaakwagalanga.
9 Give [instruction] to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.
Yigirizanga ow’amagezi naye aneeyongeranga okuba n’amagezi, yigirizanga omutuukirivu, aneeyongerangako okuyiga.
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
“Mu kutya Mukama amagezi mwe gasookera, era n’okumanya oyo Omutukuvu Katonda, kwe kutegeera.
11 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
Ku lwange oliwangaala emyaka mingi nnyo, era olyongerwako emyaka.
12 If thou art wise, thou art wise for thyself: and if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
Bw’obeera omugezi, amagezi go gakuyamba, naye bw’onyooma amagezi weerumya wekka.”
13 The foolish woman is clamorous; [she is] simple, and knoweth nothing.
Omukazi omusirusiru aleekaana, taba na mpisa era taba na magezi!
14 And she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
Era atuula mu mulyango gw’ennyumba ye, ne ku ntebe mu bifo eby’ekibuga ebisinga obugulumivu,
15 To call to them that pass by, who go right on their ways,
ng’akoowoola abo abayitawo, ababa batambula amakubo gaabwe abali ku byabwe.
16 Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that is void of understanding, she saith to him,
Abagamba nti, “Buli alina okumanya okutono ajje muno.” Era eri oyo atalina kutegeera agamba nti,
17 Stolen waters are sweet, and bread [eaten] in secret is pleasant.
“Amazzi amabbe nga gawooma! emmere eriibwa mu kyama ng’ewooma!”
18 But he knoweth not that the dead are there; that her guests are in the depths of Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Naye oyo agwa mu kitimba kye tamanya nti nnyumba yakuzikirira, era nti abagenyi be bali mu buziba obw’emagombe. (Sheol h7585)
