Proverbs 5
1 My son, attend unto my wisdom; incline thine ear to my understanding:
ऐ मेरे बेटे! मेरी हिकमत पर तवज्जुह कर, मेरे समझ पर कान लगा;
2 That thou mayest preserve discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
ताकि तू तमीज़ को महफ़ूज़ रख्खें, और तेरे लब 'इल्म के निगहबान हों:
3 For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
क्यूँकि बेगाना 'औरत के होटों से शहद टपकता है, और उसका मुँह तेल से ज़्यादा चिकना है;
4 But her latter end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
लेकिन उसका अन्जाम अज़दहे की तरह तल्ख़, और दो धारी तलवार की तरह तेज़ है।
उसके पाँव मौत की तरफ़ जाते हैं, उसके क़दम पाताल तक पहुँचते हैं। (Sheol h7585)
6 So that she findeth not the level path of life: her ways are unstable [and] she knoweth [it] not.
इसलिए उसे ज़िन्दगी का हमवार रास्ता नहीं मिलता; उसकी राहें बेठिकाना हैं, पर वह बेख़बर है।
7 Now therefore, [my] sons, hearken unto me, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
इसलिए ऐ मेरे बेटो, मेरी सुनो, और मेरे मुँह की बातों से नाफ़रमान न हो।
8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
उस 'औरत से अपनी राह दूर रख, और उसके घर के दरवाज़े के पास भी न जा;
9 Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:
ऐसा न हो कि तू अपनी आबरू किसी गै़र के, और अपनी उम्र बेरहम के हवाले करे।
10 Lest strangers be filled with thy strength; and thy labours [be] in the house of an alien;
ऐसा न हो कि बेगाने तेरी कु़व्वत से सेर हों, और तेरी कमाई किसी गै़र के घर जाए;
11 And thou mourn at thy latter end, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
और जब तेरा गोश्त और तेरा जिस्म घुल जाये तो तू अपने अन्जाम पर नोहा करे;
12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
और कहे, “मैंने तरबियत से कैसी 'अदावत रख्खी, और मेरे दिल ने मलामत को हक़ीर जाना।
13 Neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
न मैंने अपने उस्तादों का कहा माना, न अपने तरबियत करने वालों की सुनी।
14 I was well nigh in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
मैं जमा'अत और मजलिस के बीच, क़रीबन सब बुराइयों में मुब्तिला हुआ।”
15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
तू पानी अपने ही हौज़ से और बहता पानी अपने ही चश्मे से पीना
16 Should thy springs be dispersed abroad, and rivers of water in the streets?
क्या तेरे चश्मे बाहर बह जाएँ, और पानी की नदियाँ कूचों में?
17 Let them be for thyself alone, and not for strangers with thee.
वह सिर्फ़ तेरे ही लिए हों, न तेरे साथ गै़रों के लिए भी।
18 Let thy fountain be blessed; and rejoice in the wife of thy youth.
तेरा सोता मुबारक हो और तू अपनी जवानी की बीवी के साथ ख़ुश रह।
19 [As] a loving hind and a pleasant doe, let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
प्यारी हिरनी और दिल फ़रेब गजाला की तरह उसकी छातियाँ तुझे हर वक़्त आसूदह करें और उसकी मुहब्बत तुझे हमेशा फ़रेफ्ता रखे।
20 For why shouldest thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
ऐ मेरे बेटे, तुझे बेगाना 'औरत क्यों फ़रेफ्ता करे और तू ग़ैर 'औरत से क्यों हम आग़ोश हो?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he maketh level all his paths.
क्यूँकि इंसान की राहें ख़ुदावन्द कीआँखों के सामने हैं और वही सब रास्तों को हमवार बनाता है।
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.
शरीर को उसी की बदकारी पकड़ेगी, और वह अपने ही गुनाह की रस्सियों से जकड़ा जाएगा।
23 He shall die for lack of instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
वह तरबियत न पाने की वजह से मर जायेगा और अपनी सख़्त बेवक़ूफ़ी की वजह से गुमराह हो जायेगा।
