Proverbs 5
1 My son, attend unto my wisdom; incline thine ear to my understanding:
Synu mój! bądź pilen mądrości mojej, a ku mojej roztropności nakłoń ucha twego,
2 That thou mayest preserve discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
Abyś strzegł ostrożności, a umiejętność aby wargi twoje zachowała.
3 For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
Bo choć niewiasty obcej wargi miodem opływają, a gładsze niż oliwa usta jej:
4 But her latter end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
Ale ostatnie rzeczy jej gorzkie jak piołun, a ostre jako miecz na obie strony ostry.
Nogi jej zstępują do śmierci, a do piekła chód jej prowadzi. (Sheol h7585)
6 So that she findeth not the level path of life: her ways are unstable [and] she knoweth [it] not.
Jeźlibyś zważyć chciał ścieszkę żywota jej, nie pewne są drogi jej, nie poznasz ich.
7 Now therefore, [my] sons, hearken unto me, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
Przetoż teraz, synowie! słuchajcie mię, a nie odstępujcie od powieści ust moich.
8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
Oddal od niej drogę twoję, a nie przybliżaj się ku drzwiom domu jej.
9 Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:
Byś snać nie podał obcym sławy twojej, a lat twoich okrutnikowi;
10 Lest strangers be filled with thy strength; and thy labours [be] in the house of an alien;
By się snać nie nasycili obcy siłą twoją, a prace twoje nie zostały w domu cudzym;
11 And thou mourn at thy latter end, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
I narzekałbyś w ostateczne czasy twoje, gdybyś zniszczył czerstwość twoję i ciało twoje;
12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
I rzekłbyś: O jakożem miał ćwiczenie w nienawiści, a strofowaniem gardziło serce moje!
13 Neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
Nie słuchałem głosu ćwiczących mię, a tym, którzy mię uczyli, nie nakłaniałem ucha mego!
14 I was well nigh in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
Maluczkom nie przyszedł we wszystko nieszczęście, w pośród zebrania i zgromadzenia.
15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
Pij wodę ze zdroju twego, a wody płynące ze źródła twego!
16 Should thy springs be dispersed abroad, and rivers of water in the streets?
Niech się precz rozchodzą źródła twoje, a po ulicach strumienie wód.
17 Let them be for thyself alone, and not for strangers with thee.
Miej je sam dla siebie, a nie obcy z tobą.
18 Let thy fountain be blessed; and rejoice in the wife of thy youth.
Niech nie będzie zdrój twój błogosławiony, a wesel się z żony młodości twojej.
19 [As] a loving hind and a pleasant doe, let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
Niechżeć będzie jako łani wdzięczna, i sarna rozkodzna; niech cię nasycają piersi jej na każdy czas, w miłości jej kochaj się ustawicznie.
20 For why shouldest thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
Bo przeczże się masz kochać w obcej, synu mój! i odpoczywać na łonie cudzej?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he maketh level all his paths.
Gdyż przed oczyma Pańskiemi są drogi człowiecze, a on wszystkie ścieszki jego waży.
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.
Nieprawości własne pojmają niezbożnika, a w powrozach grzechu swego uwikle się.
23 He shall die for lack of instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
Onci umrze, przeto, że nie przyjmował ćwiczenia, a dla wielkości głupstwa swego będzie błądził.
